I miss Bea... When I was no more than five 5, over 20 years ago on the other side of the world from USA, I'd curl up with my grandma, and we wold watch the Golden Girls together. My grandma is still with me, getting near Sofia's age from the show, with some health issues that come with age. I hope we have many, many years to spend together, and cherish our moments, laughing over the legendary scenes from our favorite show. Thank you grandma! I love you
I live in Macedonia now, but originally I am from Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Last year I lost my beloved grandmother at the age of 85. A year has passed, and not a single day goes by I don’t think of her. I just miss her and love her so much. The comment I posted 5 years ago is a painful reminder she is gone.
Nina Horvátország I am so, so sorry to hear that. My honest condolences. Do you speak Serbo-Croatian? I do, it’s my native language. I also lived in Rijeka, Croatia, and in Novi Sad, Serbia too.
Nina Horvátország My grandma lost her battle with breast cancer. :’( She was the oldest member of my family. My parents divorced when I was 1 year old, so I was raised by my mom and grandma. She was a parental figure in my life, not “just a grandma. 2 years prior to her death, I lost my cousin, who was more like a baby brother to me, as we lived and grew up with together since the day they brought him from the hospital as a newborn baby. I lost him at only 23 to a very rate type of brain tumor. He was the youngest member of my gamily. The pain never goes away. You just learn how to live with it. Time has passed, and I laugh, socialize, work and function as I used to before, but my heart breaks every time I think of them. Even if I try avoiding thinking of them that often, they are still in my dreams. Once again, I am terribly sorry for your loss, from the bottom of my heart. I know how it feels like.
Nina Horvátország North Macedonia. To be honest, I try to stay away from such political issues. With so much more important things to better people’s lives, politics is hiding serious issues behind trivial things, as geographic names. Too bad the people are buying it.
Bea did so good being over 80 and battling cancer...she was very brave and I'll always admire her for that. And WOW--how in the world does Adrienne Barbeau stay so gorgeous after all these years? She's hardly aged at all! Thank you for posting this precious clip! :)
Aside from the fact that she was a great actor, what made me love her was that she was a BIG fan of MOTOGP motorcycle road racing. I remember seeing her on the tonight show once when Johnny asked her what sports she liked and she answered Motorcycle Grand Prix Racing and that her son was best friends with the at-the-time world champion, Eddie Lawson...that was good enough for me. I got to meet her once and talked to her about it and she was so nice. RIP
I miss Bea. What a true giant in the tv industry. I still watch several times a year, the All In the Famiky episode introducing Maude. The funniest sit com episode ever. RIP DEAR LADY.
Bea Arthur was the best thing that could happen to the Golden Girls. She was legendary in Maude. The Golden Girls was a winning recipe. RIP Estelle "Sophia" Getty, + 2008, Bea "Dorothy" Arthur + 2009, Rue "Blanche" McClanahan + 2010, and, Betty "Rose" White + 2021 ( several weeks shy of her 100th birthday ).
I've been such a fan of Bea, particularly of the Maude period. That voice, so straight to the point and sharp! That day I was waiting to meet her outside "The View" studios with some other autograph hunters, I remember that just before she came out through the front door, a man warned us saying: Just be easy with her, she is very sick. When she appeared, I asked her for her autograph and I told her: So glad that "Maude" has finally been released. She responded: Grrrrrreat!.....that was Bea.
Bea will always be a legend: I loved her ever unconventional footwear as well (sneakers, flip flops and she wore those Uggs before the got trendy). Adrienne Barbeau aged great (in her mid 60's now): she was brilliant in Carnivale.
I think we all miss Bea Arthur. She’s a part of multiple generations of popular comedic culture. All she had to do was look at you, and it was hilarious. She’s a legend.
It doesn't matter how old the Maude show is, the fact is that well written comedy is timeless, and that show is DEFINITELY timeless as well as the other Norman Leer shows, Good Times, All In The Family, The Jeffersons. All of these shows are prime examples of how superb writing and great acting go hand in hand. WE ALL MISS YOU BEA Thanks for making us laugh thru the years. :)
Bea Arthur is such a professional...she stops to acknowledge the applause at :50, while Adriene Barbeau keeps walking towards the panel. Not saying Ms. Barbeau is professional also, but Bea Arthur did extensive work on stage.
thank god for re-runs! i was 1 year old when Maude first came on television. and i think i was 10 or 11 years old when i first saw an episode...and was a fan ever since. Bea's comedic timing was like no other. you will be missed, but never forgotton Bea.
Amazing how people pushed forward despite religious tyranny. Thank God for shows like Maude that educated people and showed how many of us wanted autonomy.
Ms. Arthur.........remembering many, many laughs. From Yenta the Matchmaker, to Vera Charles, friend of Mame, to Maude who there are no words for, to Dorothy, who with Sophia, Blanche and Rose, made me, us I hope, laugh for 7 years, but in totality, Ms Arthur, over 40 years of humor from 'Fiddler' to 'Golden Girls'! As Yenta said......"Do I suffer, yes I suffer, but I suffer in silence"...and Ms Arhtur made much of that suffering a little less and made me laugh a little more! Shalom!
I love her on Maude she was perfect for that role but I especially I love her on the golden girls and I think it's great that she became famous Hollywood has to many cookie cutter actress but Bea is far from that
I KNOW I'll cry! I hope she's well and here for a long time, yet. Thanks Edster for posting. Yes, where the hell is season 2?! I want the official DVDs, even though I was too impatient to wait and got old TVLand recordings. They're incomplete, though. I want the official thing!
@ExAxLxPx12 Well, this was her last talk show interview type appearance. But the TV Land Awards in 2008 was her final televised appearance :( Yes, RIP Bea
You and me both. Sony is notorious for treating their classic shows inventory like that. They'll release a season of a show and then sit on it for a couple of years before releasing another one. I hope that doesn't happen with "Maude" however.
Gee this was almost "hi" then "goodbye" with the amount of time taken. The one thing I hated about Maude being broadcast in Australia is the channel would edit up to two minutes per episode to fit commercials in. Thankfully the DVD means we can watch those episodes in their entirety.
They bring them both on the show for 5 frickin minutes?! Why not devote a little more time because they didn't even really get to discuss anything so it becomes a forgettable and pointless interview.
Did you notice how Bea snubbed Hasselback? The camera kept flashing to the audience but essentially Bea came out and hugged Rosie who was so controlling getting Bea into her seat. Bea barely had time to acknowledged the others. Guest co-host and Broadway legend Audra McDonald said nothing the entire time. Strange.
I hear this is coming out in March!.....I went on Amazon with mom today and its REGION 1...only gettable for the USA not Europe. A whole load of stuff I wanted r all on region 1 it's so stupid. Anyway least Maude has been re-uploaded on RUclips so I can watch it. But it would of been so cool on DVD tho :((

I miss her a lot. She always reminded me of my Grandmother... 😞😩
@@mcgannahanskyjellyfetti1663 Why do some people always make it about themselves? It's legendary Bea Arthur. Not your grandmother.
Bea sure loved holding hands
I love you and miss you Dorothy. RIP, and I hope you are at peace on the other side.
Bea's character on "The Golden Girls". RIP.

Adrienne has not aged at all. She seems really nice.
One less pixel and this would be a radio show.
Then don't watch it...
Hahahahaha!!! I gotta use this sometime! 😂
Tassy McCormick Uh yeah....this was made in 2008, so what do you expect?
so funny!! how we are so advanced now that stuff done back in 2007 seems terrible to us!!
Quintessential quote of this century Brava !!! 👏👏👏👏@tassy
The funny thing is, 35 years or not, Maude is still funnier and better written and has better comedic actors than 99% of the sitcoms now.
Rest in Peace Bea. I love Maude and Bea Arthur
Bea, to me is greatness.
I just have so much love and respect for that woman.
She is truly timeless
I love Bea Arthur.
MAUDE WAS A SPINOFF OF ALL IN THE FAMILY THAT EPISODE SHE WAS ON ALL IN THE FAMILY WAS HYSTERICAL..
Bea thanks for all the times you made me laugh, always a part of me.
I absolutely love Bea Arthur as Maude on "Maude" & Dorothy on "The Golden Girls". A really talented actress! RIP, Bea!! We love you!!

I never saw this clip. How great that they both appeared together. Maude was a very funny sitcom.
She dated my uncle back in the days and spent Christmas with our family for many years . She slept in my bedroom!
I could say I was grown by the 3 aunts and grandma... I miss 'em all... great actresses and great tv show... so sad knowing that Bea died yesterday :(
In retrospect, BA was starting to look frail. Bea rocks, forever!!!!!!
T James Well, she was 83-84 years old
I believe she had been diagnosed with lung cancer by this time.
I guess it's kinda randomly asking but does anybody know a good website to watch newly released tv shows online?
Love you Bea!
Maude imitated nobody and yet intimidated EVERYONE! There was nobody like Maude! RIP Bea Arthur!
Bea was a Marine I just learned. I never saw Maud but she was great in Golden Girls.
Bea Arthur is such a professional...she stops to acknowledge the applause at :50, while Adriene Barbeau keeps walking towards the panel. Not saying Ms. Barbeau is professional also, but Bea Arthur did extensive work on stage.

When Maude was on All In The Family. She met the Jeffersons when they lived next door.
No. That never happened. It would have been funny if it happened though...
That's not true. Maude never met them.

This is from 2007. Sadly, Bea Arthur passed away just 2 years later. 😥
So sad.you could obviously tell she was sick here

Maude was before my time but looking back it really was the greatest sitcom of all time. Controversial but always funny, and refreshingly ADULT.
When a have the blues ,dvd Maud and the Golden girls after 1 episode or 2 could take the world on my shoulders
And now you can get the whole series on DVD.
I love her on Maude she was perfect for that role but I especially I love her on the golden girls and I think it's great that she became famous Hollywood has to many cookie cutter actress but Bea is far from that

Maude is very good. I think The Golden Girls was better but Maude was still very good. Plus as a bonus, Rue McClanahan was on both shows as well!
i loved the show, wish the other seasons would come out, its been a few years since the first season came out. guess it didnt sell good enough.
My favorite episode of Maude is Vivian’s First Funeral.
Vivian's First Funeral, Lovers in Common, The Grass Story, The Gay Bar and Maude meets Florida

eepruls maybe due to Bea's health she didn't wanna do a long interview?
that was very nice.
