I know maybe 0.5 things about animation and negative 9999999 things about 3D animation, but there's something so endearing about character models that are a little janky but still pleasant from a character design aspect. They're cute and I love them and the fact that their skeletons may explode at any moment only adds to it

Honestly I'm in love with this animation! There's a bit of roughness sure but it all looks very charming! The motion with the bump and the showing of how the cat is pushed over and thrusts their leg out to catch themselves? The exaggerated and very charming eye roll? This is swell! I'd love to see more 3D stuff from you!
Yes my queen! Always love seeing 3d from you. I've been prototyping an "I Spoil" style of video in blender (still using sprites, their just on image planes) and while it's overcomplicated, modifers and a full 3d engine lets you get alot more out of less drawings.

ahhhh the struggle of fussing around with a model that is not structured or rigged well because you think it'd be faster than re-doing the whole thing only to wonder if making a better model WOULD be faster, I know it well this looks great!!! I really really love how your style translates into 3D, it's super super cute oh also, while you might've found it now or maybe someone else has told you about this, but for some viewport advice - if you have things like all of the grass in a collection (as I agree that'd pry be one of the major things slowing down ur viewport) unchecking the box that's by the collection name will both hide it from ur viewport and also like remove it from what ur computer is calculating which can speed up the viewport playback for animation, though it does mean you won't be seeing the grass until you check the box again

Oh I feel the weight painting struggle, I'm still working out how to actually do it properly. I only JUST figured out how to make not-2D eyes rotate the same direction. This is really cool stuff to see though I would love to see more 3D stuff!

Very nice! Did you make the rigs and mesh yourself? You can also use auto-rig pro (blender add-on) and use the pre-made quadruped rig. It’s a really good basis.
