Yes, I did some belly aching and it did sound like a was b!t@hing... I wasn't really, was I? I was just getting over something to have another issue....
Again, Just my thoughts on over greasing gears...
NOVAFOX Arms & Gears will work...

I hope warmer & drier weather is coming, I have a few kits to run and need to finish the Holiday Buggy motor test runs (hint: the Tamiya Super Stock BZ is in it now) and get the bearings in it too....
    Thanks For Watching guys....

I built a Fox for a friend and on its first test run, the throttle stuck and it hit the curb. So I ended up buying another Fox to put together for him, and gave him the remains of the first one for spare parts. My transmitter died soon afterward and I got out of the RC hobby for many years before I got a deal on a Losi TT Pro, and then an Arrma Granite BLX.

Very nice, I cant count how RC cars/truck I bought for friends, from nitro stadium trucks to Clod Busters. The MSC for this Fox is busted in half (will be in the next video), I glued it together but I will never trust it to use it, so in goes a HW1060 esc. Thanks for watching and the comment!!!!

Bit of a mess indeed! Old kit usually have at least one surprise in store for you, this one had a few. Glad to see it is getting brought back to life and look forward to seeing it run around. Thanks for the shout out and I am sure you have grumbled more than once seeing me glob grease into a gearbox! LOL!

In my video "Chasing down a Fox" when I picked up the buggy, Dammit, watching "Predator" and forgot what I was saying.... Grease in the diff aint a bad thing, but to me, loading the teeth on the gears with a half pound of grease really dont do anything... And this is some thick stuff, 3x thicker than any normal Tamiya grease (not including AW), this stuff is like auto or marine grease....

Man I'm telling ya.... I seen cleaner mud in swamps on Parris Island... LOL I'll be getting the gears & rear arms soon, might rebuild the shocks, put in a HW1060, add that servo saver brace then test it... I still might hand this off to someone, only time will tell.

Great video Bob..... enjoyed watching this!
I have a lot of love for the Fox, fond memories from way back in the day.... In fact I think it was the first ever RC car I actually saw in person!
Have always fancied picking one up to restore, or even pick up a Nova Fox kit!
Love watching these vintage restorations mate.
After restoring a fair few original eighties Tamiyas I have noticed a very familiar pattern regarding the ageing ABS plastics -
Generally, 20% of the plastic parts are usually cracked or broken, another 20% break as you disassemble the car, and another 20% break within the first few runs after it has been rebuilt! 😬
Looks like whoever built that kit was a little heavy handed with the screwdriver...... never overtighten screws!!
As for that gearbox..... do you think they used enough grease? 🤔 😂
My original midnight pumpkin one was just like that, when I opened it up after 35 years it was FUNKY!!!
Layers of mollie grease built up all around the casing, with dirt, fluff and even a few pubes!! (God knows how they got in there, I was only ten years old when I first built it so they definitely weren't mine! 😂)
I even found a BA2 screw stuck in the grease!
All good fun mate, projects like this unfold heaps of history from over the cars lifetime..... and I find that kinda cool, in a nerdy kinda way.
It's so rewarding getting these projects up and running again..... far more so than just building a new kit.
Those old silver cans were built to last, and I've yet to do a project where the motor has been terminal.
Please do a follow up video on this and show us all how the project progresses mate!
Now, go and get that Tetanus jab dude! 😂
    👍 👍 👍

Part 2 is coming as I'm going to order the gears & rear arms soon... I might even go for the A Parts tree, that has the bumper & "skid plates" and maybe a sticker set but I kinda like the bumper without stickers on it... Now, about your 10 year old build, I'm guessing someone needed more lube for bumping uglies, LOL.

Yes sir, gears in an RC kit don't need to be packed or over greased, IMHO.

BOB!!! I was looking around for an old RC to bring back to life myself. Great idea. Maybe all the grease saved the gears lol. Please tell me how you really feel lol.
