Hi Mike! Nice to see you in action again. This weathering demo is a little gem, includes a bit of everything. Thanks for your work, I'm waiting for more videos to come! Enjoy the summer, have nice holidays and cheers from scolding Madrid, Spain!
Mike, how about a video on how you paint vision blocks and periscopes on armored vehicles? It's always a challenge, and the ones I paint, never look right... Thanks, Ralph.
Nice and strait forward tutorial Mike :) Easy to follow even for the beginners with hobby among us . Keep on the good work and model on buddy. Greetings Ozzy
@@rs.p good deal will be there i meant to ask you earlier about the pigments are you still mixing them or are you using them out the cannister as is again great video well deserved
Hello micheal i have a question, do you leave your oil paints to dry in the cardboard for hours? Does it make a big difference? And when blending oil colors like oil dots, its better a slightly wet brush or a dry brush? Cheers and waiting for the OPR book TG. 02! 🎉
Hey Mike - if you mean before starting with a palette, long enough to get the linseed oil soaked up. You can visually see it happening.I keep the palette in a plastic container in the freezer in between, lasts about a month of use. I don't do the oil dot technique... & the amount of thinner on the brush changes constantly. I recommend the OPR playlist on the channel and start going thru them, a lot of discussion/demos on these questions regularly ;)
@@rs.p Thank you! Gonna check it out, also, is it possible if in the future making a video doing OPR but in 3 tone camouflage? It would be extremely helpful.
I am going to try these techniques on the Bedford QLB I am building (desert scheme)... out of interest, what oil colours would you recommend as the basics?
@robertworth5328 don’t sweat it mate, just letting you know where to find it on my vids 💪🫡 also if you like the technique, click the Playlist tab and there are OPR videos and Weathering collections you could dive deep into. Most are from past live streams, in those I add chapter stamps to find demos quickly (again all listed in each video description). They go a long way to show the nuances of the colors, mixing, application and so forth (mostly armor related)
Don't forget the Playlist section that has a ton of weathering videos, and simply keep practicing. That's all this model is, easy stress free practice work. Cheers!
@@DrugoyModelism great, and this is the ancient Tamiya release and only a test dummy to share techniques on. I am sure yours will be very detailed and s special 💯
@@rs.p I bought Meng Willys for a fun, next I find old Italery M100 trailer which I tried to build around 2004, assembled it, and now I waiting for TAKOM Willys with trailer and assembling Bronco jeep crew in Normandy. Willys jeep addiction)))

Always a pain to get right (solid ones anyway), and not a problem. I have some new armor coming up and will make note to discuss those steps. Cheers!
