@YoungOasis To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer’s head. There’s also Rick’s nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes,

@@thrift_jacob Yeah. Got me too. I had to go down a similar path to learn that lesson about friendship, and what's really important in life. Like Joey, and probably a million other tortured souls, I wish to God I didn't have to do so much damage to myself, but more importantly , to the people that I should have been the most careful to protect, to get to such a position of emptiness. I guess some of us can't have some empathy, while still being selfish at times. One of the saddest tales that I've heard. When comics tell stories you never know how much is embellished but his reactions he showed at the most emotional times makes me think those parts were sincere. Good story...
Man it makes me sad that he never talked to Z again. That'd be something that haunted me for a long time, if not my whole life, just popping back in your head when you least expect it, in the middle of the night, first thing in the morning, I can't handle endings like that very well
Yeah, that story really got to me. I live with several similar burdens everyday and i'm doing my best to be at peace with them. I've got one left that still eats at me all the time and I just can't seem to get right.
The way he says that by that time coke had kind of absorbed him is really a testament to what a great woman this was. The fact that she clearly had a drug dependence never took precedent over either her love for Joeys mom or her love promise to take care of Joey. Despite her weakness, she must have been one strong woman before that weakness in every scenario, because clearly it never prevented her from being a true friend and faithful caretaker
@@markmusic5303 he had no choice, it's not easy to lose your mom and find urself in the street with no where to go, as a teenager these things dig deep inside you, i heerd him speak about it once, i believe it was on Joe Rogan, and his voice cracked, it's not easy, i used to be awfully judgmental, now whatever I see no matter how much terrible it looks on the outside i always say to myself there's something more to it.. Sittin in silence for 5 minutes straight after watchin this thinking how good my real friends are to me and how i should value my family n friends more and be thankful for what i have and how i was raised. joey is an artist, cus artists just dont entertain they make you feel shit, and i've never looked at a painting or read a book or heard a song in a long long time that made me feel more than hearing his story just did! I've been speaking out of turn to my girl who really doesnt deserve it, might sound creepy but she's like a sister to me, i need to stop taking her for granted and i will, thank you uncle joey, a poet and a savage!
People take for granted how they have someone in their lives who’ll do anything for them. They grow up thinking it’s a given, that “Zee” will always be there for them. But growing up means realizing that that shouldn’t come free. We owe it to our close ones to be there for them. We don’t just get to have someone who will do anything for us; to earn that, we need to be willing to do anything for those we love. It’s too bad Zee didn’t feel that at the time, but hopefully she realized that Joey was young, he still had to learn that lesson, and that he’d become a man who sticks up for his friends when they couldn’t stick up for themselves. If you don’t have a friend like Zee, try to BE a friend like Zee.
Joes D brings the 80s back to life. Back then friends were for real. he had beef with 10 guys from 93rd street you go there and risk an ass beating. proper. no choice, that's your friend.
He reminds me so much of a few of my “uncles” I’m Sicilian on my moms side and Cuban on my dads, so I had a crazy ass family and once they all intertwined is was even crazier.
Hamish Finlay the comedy in that situation comes from the contrast between the severity of the situation being rather low and the reaction to it being incredibly over the top...
without being one of them mad people at the bus stop that tells you their life story, i must say this story rings so true to me, the part when he chokes up talking about zee petting his mums hair, tears me up every time. i watch this every day and it brings me comfort for some reason. That is what true friendship should be. Youd be suprised how many comforting hugs, every arm around the shoulder, every whisper in your ear at a funeral/wake are not sincere.
i've been watching rogan and joey for years... and i always like diaz a lot but i couldn't really pinpoint why i did. I mean he was a thief, a drug addict, a drug dealer, a shitty person, a real trainwreck... but just now, i understand why i like him. He's loyal. He's fucking loyal to his friends and that is a very rare quality in a person. Joey if you are reading this i hope god keeps you safe from any bad shit forever man.
Might be loyal now, but if you watch his stories and podcast, he's practically fucked over every single person that ever cared about him or helped him. He robbed just about all of his mom's friends who took care of him as a kid for coke and shit. So idk if I'd even call the guy loyal.
"Z had the funeral director by the throat because she put the wrong dress on my mother" - This is the type of friendship energy I need in my life lmfao!!!!! I love this! Joey is probably my new favorite comedian lmfao
My heart goes out to you Mr. Diaz. You've dealt with many hardships in your life and came out a better person on the other side. Tears, roaring laughter and life lessons all rolled into one = the GOAT Joey Diaz. His mother would be proud of him, it’s not easy surviving without one but he did it.
There are only a few comedians that can accomplish this . . . . .this level of ecstatic and philosophical depth that pulls at your heart strings and leaves you with a smile on your face cause of laughter and gives a tip on how to live life.
Uncle Joey needs to write a book about his life. It sounds like anybody he would be ratting on has been long dead anyway. Some of us just have interesting stories to tell and are good at telling them. There doesn't have to be a crazy twist or turn or some kind of fight scene where you rescue a princess from a spiky fire turtle thingy. Sometimes just hearing a good story from someone who's good at telling them is enough that we don't even care about the morality or even the ending of the story lol. We just like hearing them tell it.
Utter tears right now. Both my parents and brother have passed I'm the remaining survivor for my family. This was a laugh and tears I needed. Thank you 🙏

One of the saddest tales that I've heard. When comics tell stories you never know how much is embellished but his reactions he showed at the most emotional times makes me think those parts were sincere. Good story...
100%.
Joey was about to cry thinking about that woman with his mom.
6:30
100% is real.
Man it makes me sad that he never talked to Z again. That'd be something that haunted me for a long time, if not my whole life, just popping back in your head when you least expect it, in the middle of the night, first thing in the morning, I can't handle endings like that very well
@onewithmyself is Z dead? I'm confused
You dont know Z though you pussy
@@Blind_Side94 why such an asshole
@@Blind_Side94 someone like z, imagine someone that loved you, that raised you, that cared for you when no one else would.
Coke is different from everything else, you can still be alright on it, trust me I know 🙂
@@diogenes.Yeah, Joey just went too far
@@markmusic5303 he had no choice, it's not easy to lose your mom and find urself in the street with no where to go, as a teenager these things dig deep inside you, i heerd him speak about it once, i believe it was on Joe Rogan, and his voice cracked, it's not easy, i used to be awfully judgmental, now whatever I see no matter how much terrible it looks on the outside i always say to myself there's something more to it.. Stay blessed buddy 🤚🙂
Stan Lee Amen
S.P.S. G.E. Oo
The amount of life lessons this man just gave me in less than 15 minutes is incredible. He deserves all the respect for preaching this truth
This is probably the 100 time I have watched this one...the man is a monster-storyteller
Not gonna lie Z's oath to Joey's mother when she passed made me tear up
My absolute favorite person to listen tell a story. Who agrees????
If you don’t like Joey Diaz after watching this , you got issues !
@onewithmyself yh, you do realize that 99% of ALL his stories are made up right?
The Basic Adventurerer Proof? Factual Proof
@@sayelaporro Stfu! He's as real as they get!
The Basic Adventurerer maybe. Maybe not. How about you just enjoy it for what it is and stop poking holes at the fun.
He's just not funny. And he's affected. Nothing to do with liking him or not
Can't express my love for Joey Diaz more. What a guy. May he live forever
"Once ya do a bong hit....church aint so bad"
-Joey motherfuckin Diaz.
Peace be with you, brother
True😅💀😅
Cjmaret well said
Uncle Joey showed raw emotion almost going into tears and choking up with Z talking to his mother for the last time 🙏❤️
That's a brilliant story teller than can make you cry and laugh in the span of 15 seconds!
Comedy Central do yourself a favor and get this man a special ASAP!
This is church for me, listening to a person speak his innermost darkness out of strangers
"I took the elevador, like a docta"...
Leonardo Donato I was drinking it like a soldga
And he goes all sassy " i took da elevador, like a doctah"
Joes D brings the 80s back to life. Back then friends were for real. he had beef with 10 guys from 93rd street you go there and risk an ass beating. proper. no choice, that's your friend.
Joey's the only comic that I can listen to the same story over and over and still be captivated by every word
Jesus christ this guy is a genius story teller! Big respect man.
37 likes! Yay thanks guys....seriously when he was talking about Zee patting his moms head he got choked up....good old uncle Joey what a legend!
He reminds me so much of a few of my “uncles” I’m Sicilian on my moms side and Cuban on my dads, so I had a crazy ass family and once they all intertwined is was even crazier.
WOW. I'd love to hear a story about your family reunions
Wow, that is a crazy combo. Please post stories....we are waiting to subscribe. Tell the stories and they will come.
Joey is the uncle everybody needs
I work in a funeral home, and somebody grabbing you by the throat for dressing their loved one in the wrong clothes?
Yeah. It’s pretty justifiable
Hamish Finlay the comedy in that situation comes from the contrast between the severity of the situation being rather low and the reaction to it being incredibly over the top...
@@005connect9 really? Wow you must be so smart, trying to undermine somebody's harmless comment with your supreme intellectuality
You ever cold packed?
I read a story recently where the mortuary service cut a tall man's legs so he would fit in a casket for his funeral.
I mean it’s literally the final image you will have of your loved one.
Straight up this made me cry a little. Really beautiful story. Long live Diaz
Uncle joey diaz!! *THE REALIST OUT THERE*
I laughed and I cried. Really. Amazing stuff. What a storyteller.
They broke the mold when they made this man… Everybody needs a Joey Diaz in their life!
Joey Diaz is the Master of the Set-up his uncanny ability to disarm anyone with a story or anecdote is legendary and will live forever
without being one of them mad people at the bus stop that tells you their life story, i must say this story rings so true to me, the part when he chokes up talking about zee petting his mums hair, tears me up every time. i watch this every day and it brings me comfort for some reason. That is what true friendship should be. Youd be suprised how many comforting hugs, every arm around the shoulder, every whisper in your ear at a funeral/wake are not sincere.
lloydymk2013 truth
Its just people saying what they are supposed to say. It's not genuine at all.
Joey 'Coco' Diaz is the fucking legend man, this is epic.
“Don’t break your arm trying to pat your own back”😂💀
I used to hear my uncle say that
How does Joey Diaz got me tearing up?
Yeah
i've been watching rogan and joey for years... and i always like diaz a lot but i couldn't really pinpoint why i did.
+gatomaru he's got a very fucked up background, but i feel like "shitty person" is not the one to throw in the mix there
+SK4NE I think they mean a shitty person by today's shitty standards
Might be loyal now, but if you watch his stories and podcast, he's practically fucked over every single person that ever cared about him or helped him. He robbed just about all of his mom's friends who took care of him as a kid for coke and shit. So idk if I'd even call the guy loyal.
The way he conveys so many emotions in his stories, I was laughing. Crying, happy, mad, all in 15 mins
"Z had the funeral director by the throat because she put the wrong dress on my mother" - This is the type of friendship energy I need in my life lmfao!!!!! I love this! Joey is probably my new favorite comedian lmfao
Yeah
thank you joe rogan for introducing me to my favorite comic.
bro for real!
the world is forever indebted to Joe Rogan! I knew about Joey before but it was thanks to Joe that I fell in love with him and his life story
sup freak bitches
Jared Kelley you're welcomed
Joe Rogan introduced me to my favorite comic Doug Stanhope and my favorite person Joey Diaz
My heart goes out to you Mr. Diaz. You've dealt with many hardships in your life and came out a better person on the other side. Despite your bad choices in your younger days, you pull through and are now helping people like myself who've lived through similar situations. Thank you sir for sharing this intimate story. You are an angel despite what you may think
I find Joey Diaz to be more inspirational than most people on earth. He talks big shit and backs it up. I love this guy.
i almost cry everytime i see the moment with the kneeling with his mom..
The way joey describes his mom and her friends relationship brings me to tears
Once you start doing bongs hits. Church ain't that bad" is the most ricky thing I've heard outside of trailer park boys in awhile

Tears, roaring laughter and life lessons all rolled into one = the GOAT Joey Diaz. His mother would be proud of him, it’s not easy surviving without one but he did it.
i had a Z in my life as well...i miss her everyday. thank you for sharing this story
WOW. Blown away. Phenomenal. Unmatched, pure, top of the line PASSION. This had unbelievable depth. Can’t believe I hadn’t seen this before. Bravo.
Uncle Joey man …nothing brings me more joy than listening to a story from uncle
We just like hearing them tell it.
bowzer
austin4x uncle Joey is full of shit. Don’t you get it..
He has. He’s writing audio books on every podcast he does
Utter tears right now. Both my parents and brother have passed I'm the remaining survivor for my family. This was a laugh and tears I needed. Thank you 🙏
I love acts like this. Where it's funny, and has a meaningful message and is very emotional.
Making mother fuckers cry an shit.... Didnt expect this one. Nice set, loved it!
Uncle Joey doesn't tell stories... he takes you along for the ride! Legend!
