  • Here are the ingredients you will need to make this curry chicken.
    4lbs chicken cut into small pieces - • How to Cut and Clean a...
    1/2 hot pepper chopped
    2 pimento peppers or Fresno peppers
    1/4 cup green seasoning
    1 small onion chopped
    2 scallions chopped
    2 tbsp minced garlic
    1/4 cup chopped celery
    1/2 tsp black pepper
    1 tsp salt
    1 tbsp oil
    1/4 cup mild curry
    1 tsp methi or fenugreek seeds
    1 tsp cumin or geera seeds
    2 tsp geera powder or roasted cumin powder
    2 tsp amchar masala powder - optional
    2 cups water
    Extra water to cover chicken

    OMG. I made it today and came out AMAZING. I followed your recipe very closely (didn’t add the extra peppers in the marinate bc of my kids). Thank you so so much for sharing your delightful recipe!!! Love Trinidad food!

    Best recipe... I use drummetts and half the recipe for 2lbs of chicken. I be tried all the trini curry RUclips channels this recipe is the most flavorful

    I am going to tey this recipe next time I make Trini curry chicken. I think your method will be better than my cirrent recipe from a Teini lady I know. It made my mouth water!

    2weeks ago I tried your Trini curry chicken recipe (episode 88) and wasn't really keen on the way it came out. Today I tried this version and it was ace! Thank you so much! I look forward to trying your stew chicken recipe next

    You don't use the saffron powder? I use all 3 powders, I like mine real yellow. I put ginger in mine too. To me, I think I smell that food when you cooking it gyal. Keep dem recipes coming, they are a taste of home.

    Oh yea Natasha!! Lovely method! I jus used a bit too much geera powder so it came out a bit darker than I wanted or expected it. Thanks again tho...it tasted great!!

    Looks delicious. I love it. I cook my curry outside. If fried it leaves a very strong smell that last a week. Sometimes I will add peanut butter and coconut milk for that nice gravy savory taste.

    When you added the water to the chicken so that it could cook did you reduce your stove temp or leave it on high heat? Seems like on high heat for 30 mins would be too much to keep water in the pot. I am learning how to cook so forgive me if this is a dumb question but I want to make it right the first attempt. lol

      Dennis McClearn You have to drop your heat to medium low. As your cooking if you need more liquids you can add 1-2 cups more.

      @@Cec3haynes you can get it in any supermarket well not a chinese one. JTA , FOOD BASKET, EXTRA FOODS, even the puja store. It's sold from Karibbean Flavours and Chief Brand products.

    Isn't the fenugreek seed a very hard seed? Does it soften up sufficiently in the cooking? I have never cooked with it before.
