For me, it's Seider. He is here for the long run and already a leader on this team. His interviews show maturity, and leads by example on the ice.
Think Kane gets it this year MO may get they likely aren’t going to carry two captains on defense not really there sign - I think after this year all goes right both will get it but most likely kane - but mo maybe diff get it who knows / if Kane gets it mo gets it right after or takes it from someone

I could see Kane getting it for the year. I think long term Seider and Raymond should have them though.
Kane should probably wear it but Raymond sure did show his leadership at the end of the season. Nobody on that defense played like they wanted it. Having said that I love Mo Seider!

Easy choice. Kane for sure. He's been there and they already look up to him as a mentor. When Kane is no longer a Red Wings Seider gets the A. Like how Lidstrom got the C once Yzerman retired

For me it’s Kane. Who knows if he’ll be back another year? Seider and Raymond to me are locks to get it, but Kaner clearly deserves that honor so long as he’s here (especially if it’s just for another year or two). Maybe once Benny and Copper’s deals expire the two kids can get one at the same time.
Giving it to Kane for another year is the pick. In the end, it doesn't really matter
Assuming they don't revert back to two alternates and decide to rotate the "A" between three players again, I say go Kane. If they can lock down both Seider and Raymond to long-term deals, I wouldn't mind a home-away rotation between Chiarot/Raymond and Copp/Seider.
Watching Kaner play in the first few weeks,nobody made plays like he was making like wow

You have one on D already. Usually, you have one up front and one on D. Kane gets the A this year, and Seider gets the A when Chiarot contract is up. When Kane retires, Rasmussen gets the A up front. When Larkin retires, Seider gets the C.
Glendenning, he was a phenomenal for every team he played with after the wings, especially with the wings
I'd be OK with Kane having it for a year or 2 (if he stays that long) but Seider has to have the next long term one then Raymond after that
Like every one here its Kane until he leaves. It is then Seider. He leads with just ice time. That also gives Raymond a little less responsibility to focus on his team. I wish Charoit didnt already have it or I’d say Kane and Seider this next year. Seider and raymond both are wearing the A in at least two years

Both have good cases Track record support both of them I mean wings don’t just hand it out pavel and burg had to split the A for a few years - wings def will have Mo getting it but seeming Kaner kinda took a pay cut did what he could to help

Really good case for both - I think this year they have chip on the shoulder so who are gets it needs to really take it - door is open for Raymond is well but maybe he doesn’t want the A maybe he wants to help a younger player grow into it 😊
What I think should happen won't happen because the Wings rarely do what I think they should do, which is a good thing as I am just some dumb idiot on the internet. Usually teams have three players with an A and is a rotation system as only two players can have an A for a given game. I don't know if that is true, that's what I think they do. I also googled who the alternate captains are and it came back with Perron, Cupp and Chariot. Perron is gone and I'd remove the A from Chariot and Cupp and give the A to Kane (the mentor) and the other two would go to Seider and Raymond (stepping into leadership roles and the future of the team. That's what I want to happen and I know that it will not happen.

I would understand if Kane gets the A for a year.
but I think Seider and/or Raymond will get an 8 year deal. So I think one of the two will get the A. However, I would be surprised if it's not Seider.
Yes, Raymond had a good season, but Seider plays PP, PK and has the toughest matchups in the entire NHL.

It would be borderline reckless to give Kaner an 'A' this season. He's literally played half of one season... After he leaves next year, they'll have to switch it anyways. Give that shit to Raymond, strip it from Chiarot, and give his to Seider. Easy peasy.
Kane's played 17 seasons plus another 2 seasons worth of playoff games. And why would he leave next year if he didn't this year?

Kane is Kane and besides the natural leadership role attaching to his experience and legend status (ie guys looking up to him), he seems very much to have actively taken a leadership role upon himself. This was very noticeable after the break last year and became unmissable this offseason.
