    I think one of the big reasons yzerman didn’t make a splash in this offseason was that some bad contracts either end this year or go on their final year the following year. Roster management was a problem this year. And that problem is more easily manageable next offseason without having to give up assets. Besides a lot of the big names out there got signed to really dumb contracts

  • @jackconrad2667
    @jackconrad2667 3 дня назад

    I think 2025 will be a better year for young guys and proper roster management. This year we had husso and holl taking up space. It’s really hard to move those guys. I’m sure yzerman wanted to move them. But a team has to take them. And yzerman probably didn’t want to give up assets to get rid of them. Who knows what other teams asking price was.

      Danielson is 99% going to Grand Rapids. I don’t even know if being brought up is even possible out of preseason due to roster. Now post deadline I think there is more flexibility with roster. Maybe a call up?? Or a trade and call up.

    S.Y. is obviously just "managing the cap" until the right group of players is ready. He has said multiple times that his only goal is to build this team to be great for many years,; not not just a short run. He has said so much if you just listen closely. In fact, he tells everyone exactly what he's doing. If you just listen, and quit projecting what you want him to do.

      @@scottritcey5166 No it doesn't. Blues 2019 & Golden Knights 2023 are good examples. Future 1C. That kid reminds me of a really young Sakic/Modano. 200 ft game, deceptively fast, head up, wicked/sneaky shot, always in the right place at the right time and lastly a young leader fit for captaincy. Larkin can play 2C and cook the opposition. Fedorov was 1C and Yzerman was 2C.

    • @jackconrad2667
      @jackconrad2667 3 дня назад

      This is possible due to age. By the time danielson hits his prime Larkin will be in his lower to mid 30s which will probably make him 2c. I’m not sure if danielson is elite enough for 1c. But it’s on the table. I think 2025 he will be bottom 6. 2026 and on 2c. And see from there.

      Talbot and Lyon maybe not outstanding but should be ok. Husso is wasted cap. From what I’ve heard cossa isn’t ready the save percentage is there at the ahl level but I’ve heard he still lacks some fundamentals. That being said. Even if he is ready this year Husso makes that transition nearly impossible. Just to bring him up Husso would need to be on ltir or be traded at the deadline. Since this is his final year on that bad contract. A deadline trade is more feasible. That would also give cossa some more ahl time to work on that fundemental issues he has.

      I’m 50/50 on that Marco has a different kind of motor . No doubt Nate looked right at home I. The preseason last year , but Marco took his game to another level and never looked back the second half of the year and into the playoffs . It will be fun to watch

      I think Danielson makes the club sometime later this year. I think Kasper makes the club out of camp 25/26. I think Danielson slots in as line 3/4 C and will have to earn the 2C spot. Don’t underestimate Kasper. I think him and Danielson will be in a tight competition for that 2C role. I do think Kasper starts on the wing, likely on Danielson’s line. Danielson has played North American hockey at center for years. Kasper has not. Another season in the AHL at C will go a long way. I don’t see Compher getting knocked out of the 2C anytime soon. I think a Danielson, Kasper, with either Rasmussen or Bergrenn on the RW as a 3rd line could be potent.

    Great show is always guys always love listening to you lol. But I have a suggestion..... Why don't you guys just do Tuesday Wednesday Thursdays for your off-season schedule and take Monday and Friday along with Saturday and Sunday off? I mean you guys, (mainly Brian lol 😉😂) take Mondays off alot anyways so why not treat yourselves to a four day weekend till start of season lol? Just an idea 😆. Love y'all and stay frosty 🥶

    These top 10 picks better make the roster based on their draft. Enough pussy footing around. LFGRW. We need this core to get solidified because the more years and challenges they all go through together, the better this team will be when it matters.

      Draft position besides top 3 doesn’t matter much on making the show out of the gate . Larkin is an anomaly making it so young , you can hamper development just throwing them right in the NHL
