I tried having two inverted masks intersect one another, but one would always take priority and the other would not work. I tried the 'Difference' option in the drop down box and that fixed it. Hope this helps anyone who reads :)

There should be. If you copy and paste keyframes you should be able to move them from one mask to another, provided you want it to move in the same direction
