Would be more of a concern had anyone else from the draft class done anything at all. Seems the whole group struggled or deferred their rookie season making this year’s (playing) rookie class incredibly strong. Would be worried if he can make the team in the fall, though
As a caps / hershey bears fan i cam say shane wright was the scariest player on the ice during the bears cup run. Kraken is nuts if they don't use him over say sprong
Expectations are too high in his case, just let him develop he has to prove he belongs to the nhl then starting to produce on a regular basis. We’re not there yet.
The Luke vs Brayden Schenn scrap in the video was a fun touch. And as for wrights development, it's important to remember it's an expansion team and their system is still a work in progress. It's likely the guys in Windsor have more experience dealing with guys like him than the guys in Coachella valley. As weird as it is it's probably exposing him to some very experienced player development guys
It was only one year after he was drafted so I'm not going to write anything off of massive yet cuz everybody going to have a handful of games in the NHL. I do believe that he's not ready yet
I watched Wright with Coachella Valley in the AHL Playoffs and he showed flashes of a good game. His passing was especially good, but he should have made more of an impact. I'm pretty sure if he won't be back in the AHL next season because he's not going to make the Kraken IMHO.
People are making too big a deal of Wright not playing in the nhl last year. The Kraken have a ton of depth at center, if he were on almost any other team he would have slotted in on the third or fourth line.
les HABs did that! && again >> 2023 pass on Michkov-- high up ---- for a safe bright young prospect. Ya Slavfs gonna morph into a helluva hockey player! Good pick! H and G11
He has done more to develop and was better handled in Seattle then Slafovsky in Montreal. He has played close to 70 Games at ALL levels. He will outstrip Slafkovsky
@@recalled4525 Montreal were caught. If they sent Slafkovsky to Laval and he did poorly right under the nose of Montreal Média that would have been bad . I bet the Habs are breathing a sigh of relief. I think tjat he will be traded by Seattle in a year .Where ever he gies he will then start playing in the NHL.
I think his ego got the best of him by draft time. It's hard to root for a guy like that.

You do know sprong isn't on the team right? Are people really this clueless.
@@Razahoo7 nope didnt know that obviously. I dont have a photographic memory for all 32 rosters.

Shane Wright is the Pierre-Luc Dubois of his draft year
Imagine if he went to Montreal and stayed with them the whole season like they did with slaf 😬

I watched him too in CV, Blysma barely played him. Hard to consistently have a positive impact when you barely see the ice
@@matthewkabel6246 cause he sucks
NHL or OHL are his two choices next year, can't play anywhere else due the agreement the NHL has with the CHL
Shane is to impressed with himself, and as a Habs fan I'm so happy the Habs passed on him.

Some updates about Shane Wright?
He will be a usable NHL er....Not sure he is ready yet...but ...he will be good player.!!!
Wright's the one breathing a sigh of relief. Habs are a nutty team.
Yeah he is in fat city.🤣🤣
Habs breathing much more of a sigh of relief.
very true, no pressure from the whacko fans and media 😂

Probably not expected to carry a roster and develop without pressure build on him.
