    This might be a hot take since people also called him a reach, but I think Nate Danielson could potentially be even better than Kasper. I think he was super slept on because he wasn't on that strong of a team and regularly had to play against one of the best prospects since McDavid. For now since we've had more time with Kasper I'd say he's projected slightly higher, but I think Danielson has a higher potential ceiling.

      @confusion9950 Год назад

      I totally agree on the ceiling but I feel danielson will take an extra year or 2 total to develop BUT, will take a top or middle pairing out the gate

      theres an interview with bedard somewhere out there and said that nate danielson was one of the hardest players hes ever played against

      When Yzerman drafted Seider he said "Google him." When I googled Danielson and compared the shift by shift to Benson it was clear that Benson was on a good team and cheated for all of his offense where Danielson was on a bad team and had to play defense, transport the puck and create opportunities for himself and others. BIG difference! I think Benson is going to be a "How he went from" video a la Mattie Savoie.

      @vmi4172 Год назад

      Danielson may have higher offensive potential but both have a 2C ceiling. They are two similar players, much like JT and Copp(here's hoping at least they can put the puck in the net unlike those two)

    • @kennethrussell1320
      @kennethrussell1320 Год назад

      @@vmi4172 Yeah, sometimes it seems like players forget how to put the puck in the net when the join the team. Defense is important but it's less important when you score more goals.

    Kasper was a riser throughout the build up to the 2022 draft and was an obvious pick for the Wings. He had good numbers last season at Rogle as the team wasn't the best around him and that cameo appearance for Detroit WITH A BROKEN KNEECAP showed what sort of character this guy is. He's also very versatile and can play either wing as well as center which will stand him in good stead for the future. I don't see him making the roster from camp unless he beats out someone like veleno but he would be better served playing meaningful minutes in GR rather than 4th line in Detroit IMHO. He's going to be a good, reliable NHL player for Detroit for years to come.

  • @johngolfer9244
    @johngolfer9244 Год назад +3

    He'll get 40 points a year and be a tough, hard to the net, two way player for the Wings. A team full of guys like this will win cups. Having two or three superstars (EDM, TOR, PIT) without a bunch of guys like this doesn't get you to where SY wants to go.

    Everyone expects Stevie Y to draft stars, no matter who he gets. I'm really curious how Stevie landed on taking two similar players in back to back drafts.

    • @ericscottstevens
      @ericscottstevens Год назад +1

      I am okay with both as that was all that was left.. They needed a RCH and that was Danielson's intangible.
      What gets me is drafting a goalie and 2 defenders in the second round of the 2023 draft surpassing all sorts of forwards available. This team needs scoring desperately. Both Cleveland and Gibson need a lot of work too.

    • @vmi4172
      @vmi4172 Год назад

      Not only did SY draft 2 similar C's back to back but he also signed 2 similar C's back to back at the same time, JT and Copp, to similar overpaid, over-termed contracts never less the less. As a Wings fan this makes no sense to me but🤷‍♂

    Comparisons to Anthony Cirelli and Nils Höglander were the projections for Kaspar and probably fueling his rise in the draft rankings. I suppose SY was heavily scouting Jonathan Lekkerimäki and decided to pass on him....... so we got lucky and at least with Kasper and see where this turns out.

    If the Wings can build a team that lets in only 2 goals a game, they just have to score 3. Slowly but surely
