Jonathan Marchessault is 5’9” and just won the Conn Smythe. Everyone overanalyzes size and the Sabres have plenty of it anyways. I can’t wait to see Savoie and Benson on the Sabres.
For me I didnt really think of Savoie a lot last season due to me just expecting him to dominate the WHL which he did with Benson. Juri Kulich's season was just as impressive to me if not more because he was the same age playing in the AHL against older competition and showing his potential. If you want to talk about a prospect that people seem to forget thats Noah Ostlund.
@danevertt3210 I don't know what you were watching. If he had gotten tge top line or top pp minutes Kulich got, he likely would've surpassed him. 18g & 45pts in 80 games including playoffs as a 19 yr old rookie is nothing to sneeze at. Especially with how much he excellee in back half of the year. Kulich was the better finisher, but by the end of the playoffs Rosen was playing a far more mature, complete game. He was the better play driver, play making, better defender, better forechecker, smarter with and without the puck, he killed penalties, and he was actually a more willing battler as far as the physical game. Took him a little while to get adjusted but anyone who watched objectively saw that by the end of the ECF, he was the more complete player, which is not a knock on Kulich given that Rosen is a year older.
Tbh I expected him to get 100 points in his draft year, that guy almost got the exceptional status and he's playing on a stacked team. He should've finished 2nd in scoring for the WHL last year, really disappointed. Hopefully he has a good season in the AHL. I'd be happy if he scores 50-55 points in 65 games. He had great WHL playoffs, hopefully he continues to develop.
Savoie looked terrible in his ahl debut, kinda cant make a decision on his play yet.We will see in camp, watching Benson i was impressed.I personally dont like 5ft 9in players but Caufield seems to be good so we can watch and see
Lol, you CANNOT judge Savoie from those 2 games after being thrown into the middle of the Eastern Conference playoffs, against the most veteran, heaviest, physical, and best defensive team in the AHL )who would go on to win the Calder Cup), while playing out of position on the wing, and with guys he's never played with before, and just expect him to wow you, lol. That's an impossible situation. Kulich Rosen, as well as Jack Quinn all struggled in their first couple games in the AHL, and it wasn't the middle of a heated playoff series. Anyone basing any assessment off those 2 games is being completely unrealistic.
@user-fe7hn6wm1z i definitely can make an evaluation on ones play no matter what position he plays,i thought alex nylander was weak and timid when i saw him play in hershey, howd he make out? If you notice i did say i couldnt make a decision on him yet but he didnt impress me
@user-fe7hn6wm1z also ,i played hockey,a natural center can play either wing just as good,i was a center and it didnt matter where i played same skill and effort.
Sabres up!
Who’s here after the Oilers trade?
Me
GO SABRES

Didn’t know that about March
Go Sabres!!
Thinking of what a Benson at LW, Cozens at C and Savoie at RW line would look like makes me feel all kinds of happy inside.

Or Isak Rosen
@@danevertt3210 I actually really like Rosen he is a sleeper to make the NHL roster to me.
@@thedominatior39 I have high hopes for all of those 1st rounders but Rosen didn’t seem to have the greatest season in the AHL last year

@@BillyBuffalo354 I don’t get Amerks games……I was basing my opinion off of stats. I’m glad to hear he’s doing well
Really like your posts on youtube though, great job
Columbus Fan here!! I wanted Columbus to trade up from #12 to grab Savoie last year!!!
I love Savoie. Hope he becomes a stud in the NHL
I have him ranked as the Sabres #4 prospect right now, behind Levi, Kulich and Benson.
Crazy how someone as good as savoie can be number 4, but you can legit argue he is.
Perfect season?...
I’m guessing Brad Lambert is the next guy being covered after Shane Wright and Matthew Savoie!!

Hype really downgraded when he was on the Amerks and was invisible and basically was the fall of the Amerks postseason
he played 2 games and barely had ice time lol.
bust
