Victor Mazzari the five to ten black people that you have met doesn’t account for the entire race. I have met 3 racist whites, but do I think all whites are racist? No! This movie is also factual as you can look up the women on the internet. American history was written by whites and doesn’t show the importance of other races. For instance, Thomas Edison didn’t create electric light. Sir Humphrey Davy did. Thomas Edison just made it dimmer and took credit for it. You can’t trust every thing you read.
Victor Mazzari im dead ass wheezing😂 i can see your profile pic and no baby no😂 get over yourself no one gives af your af ignorant racist and probably will always be one now bye!
This was the last movie my friend and I went to see before she died. I remember thinking "what is she doing?" as she was running in the rain. My friend who was black knew exactly what was happening as it was happening. Both of us born in 1954. She was from Alabama and I am from Georgia. I remember colored toilets and water fountains but it didn't affect me like it did her. I learned a lot about the black culture from her because she talked frankly and didn't wear her feelings on her sleeves. She was an awesome person and every time I see clips from this movie I think of her.
When I saw in old movies the white/colored drinking fountains I thought that was a needless expense. But this was bad. And I am disappointed this clip doesn't have the followup scene of big boss taking sledgehammer to sign, as it should be. Brown vs. Board of Education was settled correctly; separate but equal is not a thing that exists in the real world.
It’s so realistic, she has emotions as she is human, but she also knows she’s in a work place where her superior is in front of her and can possibly fire her if she went to far.
She kicked it up a few notches at “AND I WORK LIKE A DOG DAY AND NIGHT, LIVING OFF OF COFFE FROM A POT NONE OF YOU WANNA TOUCH” .... I thought for sure she’d win an Oscar just for that part
Well Hamda Hussein, they are still into this sh#it!But who cares ? Reshuffle , it is ending time bro!And ALL of us are losers.Time for a new deck as usual!
Abu Nadrah reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said during the middle of the day at the end of the pilgrimage, “O people, your Lord is one and your father Adam is one. There is no favor of an Arab over a foreigner, nor a foreigner over an Arab, and neither white skin over black skin, nor black skin over white skin, except by righteousness. Have I not delivered the message?” They said, “The Messenger of Allah has delivered the message.”
One of the best scenes was when she was presented a pearl necklace engagement gift. Well deserved. If it was a White man who was in her shoes. Will surely benefit more. Unfair society.
She should have apologize more than that. At 1:29 - She knew she was not right, so she said Excuse me. She's having regrets about what she did. That's why she Excuse herself.
Regardless of the "many other people" that could've played this role, Taraji P. Henson did her thing with this role; just giving some credit where it's due 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾😎
According to herself she never experienced segregation at NASA. That scene was 100% pure fiction. NASA had been desegregated years before she got her Job.

@@denisemcdougal6445 We are a tribal species. That is how our brains work. We rely on those who are close to us. Strangers are not to be trusted. Those who are like us are more predictable and safer. Those who are not like us are unpredictable and dangerous. This notion of a global community and everyone being equal is a very recent thing, at least on such a large scale. We are just one natural disaster away from the facade of civilisation being stripped away and begin acting like people in prehistoric times. We are the descendants of those who did what it took to survive.

"so excuse me if I have to go to the bathroom a few times a day" This line always gets me because it's not "I'm sorry" There's was not one apology in her whole speech and I love it.
It was well scripted. It would take a minute to parse and a few more to come up with the solution. It worked well. It should have been her supervisor fixing it.
What? You don't have colored bathrooms where you work? Please! You're don't look old enough to be facing that kind of discrimination. And if you're feel like you're being treated unfairly, you're probably not doing your job right. But that isn't discrimination either. There are tons of white people out there who don't do their job right either. I have never seen discrimination against blacks in the work place. I don't know what you are complaining about. Honestly, tell me. I would love to know.
Great scene. Segregation was some sick shit. Just to think that white people thought they were inherently superior to others makes me want to vomit. I have read some great books about African-Americans and the struggles they had to go through. I, highly, recommend Black Like Me, Malcolm X, and The Color of Water amongst others, and one my very favorites To Kill A Mockingbird.
Try being a TA and the teacher tells at you for trying to help a student read. I got talked down to in front of students several times until I reported itto my principal. This is my last year working with my class because I just refused to be disrespected
I damn near cried when I saw this scene. Her acting is phenomenal and she has inspired me, a 14 year old black girl, to aspire for a career in science. Thank you.
This scene has always stood out as one of the most powerful of the movie. I felt her pain of being disrespected, being disregarded, and of just simply being treated as less than. Taraji did an amazing job.
I honestly don't feel like she was acting. She was truly and genuinely expressing the frustration that black women go through not just back then but now is well

monokhem Sweetie first of all, you don't know shit about these people giving examples of black panther.. you are honestly disgusting. Second of all, that scene was hard to do, Taraji did a really good job with that, using her energy and her voice in full force and her face expression was really good. Maybe someone need lecturing on acting. Think before you comment on something. The scene was hard to do and thats that.
I agree. She should have been nominated.. this scene was so brilliant. Her briliiant acting which is soft in some parts, hard in others brought such a rawness of talent. Shame on the hollywood foriegn press. This film should have won it all, and taraji should be an academy award winner. Anyone who says otherwise is a moron
I wouldn’t say smartest, they were all experts in their field, she didn’t know much about aeronautical Engineering, or electrical engineering or how the chemistry behind the rocket fuel worked but a lot of those guys did, her role there was a calculator mathematician meaning she could solve any problem evolving numbers, everyone in that room was a master at their specific field, to say she was the smartest one in that room implies that she was a “jack of all traits” which is not true everyone in that building was important, from the scientist to the engineers, getting a pilot to space was a team effort in which every single soul was absolutely important, the smartest minds America could find let to a man in space and eventually on the moon. She was abnormally smart in Mathematics, most likely better then everyone in that building at math but I wouldn’t say she was the smartest one there
Every time I see this scene. It’s so touching. You have to dry the tears. I can’t even begin to imagine all the injustices African Americans had to go through over the years. Mad respect. Total, absolute, RESPECT.

Kelly Muno yeah it's powerful and it's touching, but it's based on lies. There was no hidden figures back then . The Nassau space station project was all done by white people . 😊
Victor Mazzari First, its NASA and second that is false Katherine Johnson calculated trajectory and other calculations for the first man to go into space and was one of the most qualified if not the most qualified mathmatician in the program they have her employee file in their database as well on this link: www.nasa.gov/content/katherine-johnson-biography you might as well just quit cause this is enough proof to make your statement false anyday
Because #oscarsowhite. Take Cynthia Oreivo's performance in "Harriet. " No one has ever done better. It was phenomenal!! But did she get the Oscar? No.
I love the part where she looks at her colleagues while he questions her. Not only did she have to go through that journey to the bathroom everyday, she also gets reprimanded in front of her colleagues. All that and more combines to set her off.
Destiny of Jay I was born only a few years after this. Dad was programming for the DoD side of DARPAnet when it was linked to Arpanet. It was really hard to find housing, especially when people thought they were in a mixed marriage. While the project took decades, we were treated horribly, in Bowie, MD's Levittown. Our genealogy records have been locked, so we couldn't get back to UK. As it turned out,, we'd founded the colonies and were fighting RW Tories on both sides of the pond, at the same time. Dad wasnt acknowledged as a Mason until we'd lost all our lands, farms and investments in the US since the cowboy days. We were the first medics and engineers in the UK and the states. AKA Kingsmen, House of Kent on Dad's side and Grant-Macphereson on my mother's.
Onion Blaster and their stories were never told until this movie came out from my knowledge. Back in the 60s, all those white men took credit for their hard work sending the first man to the moon.
This scene is so powerful. Everyone should watch it a few times to get the message. We all bleed the same and all have to use the bathroom. Why is my bladder not as privileged as yours?

How did she not get at least an Oscar nom for her performance in Hidden Figures? Seriously, La La Land got EVERY DAMN NOM for doing what has been done a MILLION TIMES OVER!
Because La La Land embodied stuff that was meaningful to the people from the academy that could vote and resonated with them a lot more. Hard to co pete with that, even if Hidden Figures was more deserving if you ask me.
Nala Yonce Please, la la Land is one of the greatest movies of all time. It’s bringing back that old Hollywood feeling we all know and love. Maybe you just don’t understand it?

Kenneth Williams unfortunately, it comes down to promoting yourself and sucking up to voters to get the nomination, which Taraji didn't do (and which I respect)...to me, Taraji was wayyyy better than Emma Stone that year, but that's the name of the game...they don't care about talent, just what's in it for them...but that's okay, we all know she would have won 🙂
Frederica Bernkastel ... What? HAHAHAHA Wtf did you just say? I'm sorry, have you read a history book? So apparently slaves weren't everywhere back then and still are. Civil War? Segregation? So those mean nothing LOL stop with the BS, thank you and have a wonderful day 😊.
Frederica Bernkastel LOL Sweetheart does it matter if this EXACT scene never happened? It talks about some real shit. Colored bathrooms ring a bell? LOL I guess not, so again, stop with your BS and have a wonderful day 😊.
Frederica Bernkastel Apparently you've never heard of the words "based on true events" LOL. Don't get it twisted, a lot of historical movies don't use every scene back then because they change things for ratings and to make it more interesting, however, just because every single thing isn't used the idea is to use true events.
Colored bathrooms may ring a bell, but based on Katherine's own testimony, she never used a colored bathroom at NASA, but instead used the same bathroom as the other employees from her first day. She was only challenged on it once about three years after she had been working there by a white women, but nothing ever came of it. Whether she 'got away with it' because no one cared, or because the real Katherine was (and is) so fair skinned that she passed as white to her colleagues, I don't think anyone knows. Besides that, by the point in the timeline of the movie, there were no colored bathrooms at NASA. NASA had integrated its restrooms about 10 years before the events supposedly portrayed by the movie.
Victor Mazzari Lmao why is it always the sad, ugly ones that hold on to their imaginary racial 'superiority' for dear life? I know that your entire life has been a disappointment and you possess zero redeemable qualities, so being white is the only thing you have left going for you - and I'm not the type to tell a kid that Santa isn't real, so I'll just let you be.
The fact that this woman isn’t one of Hollywood’s highest paid actors is a travesty of epic proportion! The build up in this scene is simply remarkable! acting brilliance!
I literally can't understand racism... Can't understand hate between human beings. How can you judge human beings by the color of their skin. It's just... I don't know... I don't get it.
You know that people say we are Afraid of What we Don’t UNDERSTAND? I’m just saying that what we don’t understand in the case of the colour of people’s skin, we have turned into HATRED. And ended up hating, discriminating and making slaves out of such human beings who are just like all of us, except that they are different (which everyone today is; everybody is different and unique in their own way and we all have the right to be who and how we are) and difference I believe is the contributing factor to what caused such unequal treatment and segregation that’s been placed upon these poor souls since the dawn of time, and a lot of people from the past who have suffered from this have ended up being buried in it, and their descendants today might not suffer just as much, but should never have to suffer from it again for as long as the human age continues until it ends. Our Humanity is very fragile and can easily be broken by even the slightest occurrence, which should never be the case, I hope for people of all shapes and sizes ever again.
Just plain simple BS, to live in the world with this. Little girls rape in India, child slavery, senior people been forgotten, just how people are so damn mean to other's I for the life of me do not understand it. If you see someone in need help them its not going to kill you.
I honestly don't think he tried to put on her on blast. The movie shows throughout how much faith he has in her competence. I think the idea of there not being a bathroom for her (an the struggle it caused) never occurred to him.
@@anubys7540 It also shows his blatant ignorance of the fact that he doesn't know how black people are treated. I know he didn't put her on blast because she's black, but he still put her on blast, to humiliate her in front of everyone. And she had finally had enough. He did her like the teachers do the students in class when their phone rings and he tells them to answer on speakerphone, so everyone will know. It was still done in a way to antagonize her, and considering she was the only black woman there? She'd had enough lmaoo.
Jenni Yang this movie was based on lies. The Nassau space station project was ALL done and operated by white people 😊 Hollywood likes to twist white American history in order to destroy western civilization
This scene deserved an Oscar within itself. I just KNOW everyone watching her perform was in total awe. I know I was, being black and a young adult watching this scene made my blood boil. It also made me incredibly emotional.
I wasn’t, I’ve seen better emotion, and I didn’t like the film in general ( not the perspective of the moon landing I really wanted to see) I will admit this scene itself is not Oscar worthy, even though these days, the Oscar’s are worth less than used toilet paper.
I've seen this scene many, many times, and I cry EVERY TIME. Racism is so dumb and sickening, and Taraji NAILS it. She is speaking for millions and millions of people, and youd have to be a monster not to feel the gravity of what she is saying.
Of course. Moreover, She should have apologize more than that. At 1:29 - She knew she was not right, so she said Excuse me. She's having regrets about what she did. That's why she Excuse herself.
This was when I stopped watching and caring about the Oscars. Not even a nomination? And NO IT IS NOT A BLACK THING. This movie was powerful from start to finish and if you sit there and say that you didn't feel something during this scene you'd be lying.
For me, the Oscars is about recognising talent from films of all genres. Take Hidden Figures for example. Taraji P. Henson was phenomenal in this scene. As this scene clearly displays such horrible inequality issues that not only the USA had, but the entire planet did. It is rare jewels like this as well as other films like; Twelve Years A Slave, The Help and The Colour Purple which truly portray historical dramas. It is because acting isn't only a job or a talent. It is about imagining yourself in that character and their issues. Acting is not only that art of simply playing a character, it is about showing the entire world what it is to be that character.
This movie is still powerful. It will always bring me to tears to know that there are people who still receive this type of treatment. Thank goodness, I never watched the oscars or any type of award shows.
Bruh the oscars isn’t nominating things because they’re good, the oscars only nominates things if the studios behind the movies pay the oscars enough money
My class too! Brilliant scene. I think we're more happy because in a way this movie made us feel like we we're experiencing these things too, and became attached to the characters.

I put a thumbs down on this movie because this movie did NASA no justice what so ever and this movie made it seem as though the entire Gemini program was dependent on that one female to get the Agina rocket into orbit, now I’m not trying to discredit her, she was amazing at her job and she was even able to calculate the re-entry coordinates of the last stage capsule, however NASA had several departments spread out around the United States and had the smartest minds in the world all working on the Gemini program and she had no major positions in NASA she was just a calculator who was there to double check the work of the Aerospace Engineers, she was even told to stop putting her name on the reports because she didn’t do any of the work all she did was check it to see if the math added up, imagine if your editor tried putting his name on the front cover of a book that you wrote and made it seam as though he helped creat it, fuck that his name goes in the back all he did was checked your spelling, If NASA was dependent on any one person, that would have to be the Aerospace engineer wernher von braun who presented the idea of using rockets to go to space to the America government and promoted it to the American public, and developed it into the Apollo missions to get the mighty Saturn V rocket to the moon NASA was in no way dependent on a calculator thats sole purpose it was in that one ☝️ department was to just double check the work of others That’s why I gave this movie a thumbs down, they made it seem as though they (needed) her and they couldn’t have done it without her, which is complete bullshit and anyone who believes that bS is completely ignorant of what really happened and the history of the Gemini space program and it’s Agina rocket and all the physicist, aerospace engineers, electrical engineers, plumbing experts, chemist, scientist, manufactures, privet and military sectors, and all the people that helped lead to the Agina rocket then later the Saturn 1b then later the most powerful rocket ever built the Saturn V rocket I’m sorry but this woman although amazing at her job was not the sole reason for NASA’s accomplishments she was however an great addition to the team , and the movie just pissed me off for all of its inaccuracies and you could just tell through out the movie there trying to push the narrative that she was so important that NASA “needed” her and couldn’t have done it without her 🙄 I hate movies like this that glorify one individual and make everyone els seem like their all incompetent at their jobs and aren’t really important and are the villains towards progress 🤦♂️ And yea I get it she is a woman of color fighting for equal rights, that’s great and all but what’s any of that have to do with the development of the Gemini program and the Agina rocket 🤷♂️

Acting at its finest, you could see she felt this in her soul, chills as her voice started to crack, yet she held strong. A credit to your character Taraji, outstanding performance.
I started the applause in the theater when this film finished. It was perfection. I don't think I've ever seen any film or TV show where Taraji P Henson's character wasn't my favorite. She kills every single role she has. And the cinematography in this scene alone is perfection. Not one facial expression was missed during the slow pans and cuts after her speech was finished.
Cindie Calderón theyre specifically talking about how black people were mistreated in the U.S. so why do folks like you have to downplay it or bring up stuff that’s not being talked about?
Cindie Calderón first off, don’t talk down to me. second, being black myself and growing up with Black people my whole life, I’ll have to disagree with you. The original comment states “how her brothers and sisters were mistreated” - in context to this video (that you seem to have forgotten about), which takes place during a time where black people were mistreated. So I still don’t know where your comment even came from. It seems you get your impressions of black people from the internet or the media which is why it’s very skewed. You’re using absolute terminology (“NEVER”) which is something you shouldn’t do when discussing a group of people. I can tell you that Black people, at least the ones I know, are very happy we are not living as we were in the past. That is from my experience, studying, actually talking to a Black person, etc. Of course there are outliers here and there that screech victimhood. That being said, that doesn’t mean that improvements can’t be made. So please, before going off about your distorted view of an entire group of people, reevaluate your thoughts and think about why you came to that conclusion. Thanks ✨✨
Cindie Calderón people mourning for their ancestors is not victimhood. I was also referring to the original comment you replied to. All she said was how she cried for the mistreatment of her brothers and sisters in the context of the movie...? Like do you not get that Black people in the U.S. were severely mistreated?
imagine being smarter than every person in that room and get treated like a dog everyday. that happened in real life to a woman who was a genius but got treated like garbage at Nasa because of the color of her skin. Tar. P Henson should have gotten an Oscar for that movie. she is without question an A list Actor.
Aj Jimerson Actually...... Did Katherine Johnson feel the segregation of the outside world while working at NASA? No. "I didn't feel the segregation at NASA, because everybody there was doing research," says the real Katherine G. Johnson. "You had a mission and you worked on it, and it was important to you to do your job...and play bridge at lunch. I didn't feel any segregation. I knew it was there, but I didn't feel it." Even though much of the racism coming from Katherine's coworkers in the movie seems to be largely made up (in real life she claimed to be treated as a peer), the movie's depiction of state laws regarding the use of separate bathrooms, buses, etc. was very real. African-American computers had also been put in the segregated west section of the Langley campus and were dubbed the "West Computers." -WHROTV Interview
You know what not even like a dog because dogs are respected...they saw her as dirt plain old dirty dirt that will soon be wiped away....it hurts to see that people think like that....but right there she said that she is not dirt and she has had enough!
When the director said " and cut". All the actors applauded, she nailed that scene and the audience will feel hey frustration and angst. The next scene where Costner's character mentioned about the coffee machine and tearing down the signs outside the toilets was most satisfying. I loved the movie , especially the epilogue at the end. Those women sure made a contribution to the Apollo program and all the leading ladies who got to play them knew that a lot of 30 something black female actors would run through brick walls to play those pioneering lionesses. I loved how they showed him having genuine surprise at this. It's really easy as a white man to not see sexism or racism as most people are pretty unobservant unless it's something that impacts their day to day life. And that doesn't mean you are sexist or racist, it just means you are too focused on your own life to look around and notice it happening. Once he finds out he immediately fixes it, so he's clearly not racist but he was just focused on his job and just overlooked the problem like it's so easy to do.
I mean he definitely notices her skin color, but he gives her a shot, he lets her do the math and he gives her a place in the meeting, and comes to rely on her. He dismantles Nasa's racist bathrooms he might not be perfect, but for his time he was definitely not racist like Jim Parson's character was.
I like this comment it's a good analysis. These days when black ppl try to point out the advantages white ppl have in America we have a good amount of ppl that still get offended, feel targeted, or think we're complaining rather then saying "wow I didn't notice that before, thanks for showing me your perspective. Let's work together to try to change that". Of course you won't notice these things when they don't affect you. This is the perfect example of understanding we all need
Which part never happened? It's based on a true story, obviously some things are different but this scene rings pretty true for the time, although I can't say I'm sure of its veracity.
+Mallory Mclin And that would be a valid complaint if this were a documentary. But it's a fictionalized account. So, even if Ms Johnson didn't experience this, you can be sure that some other woman or person of color in that era did -- whether it was at NASA or a manufacturing plant in Indiana. That's why films like this are made. Not just to convey the literal facts of what happened, but the truths behind them as well.
Erica Jones its not like a movie could tell every woman's story. They had such issues with the bathrooms in congressional and other government buildings. I remember how my folks had to get books for my reading and maturity level. I had an Erma Bombeck phase not long after our mother passed in 1969, when Dad was on the project. I just noticed he was still active duty AF in the 60s. Min requirement for a DoD job was a degree in Poly Sci. My existence as a social experiment petri dish, was proving Keynes off his very last NUTJOB! And that we naturally avoid marrying cousins. Dad told me about how ginormous the machines were. They really did have to break some walls to fit the IBMs through the old doorways.
This is such a powerful scene. I can feel the anger and sadness in her voice. When she talks, she's not just playing a character she's a black women feeling all the frustration that black women felt in the past. I really admire her, this scene made me cry.
@Cutsiwootsi not necessarily according to Gene Kranz flight controller and director during this time when it really came down to it there were problems with the craft that needed to be fixed or else Russia would win or worse someone would die so bias was pushed to the back burner if someone had a solution

That got me... I cried
Stfu your old and white we all know your racist 😂😭😭
Beautiful story! May she rest in peace.
What are you doing to fight systematic oppression? Because there’s still racism.
I'm so sorry that you lost your friend. She sounds wonderful. ❤

Colored bathrooms may ring a bell, but based on Katherine's own testimony, she never used a colored bathroom at NASA, but instead used the same bathroom as the other employees from her first day.

I know that your entire life has been a disappointment and you possess zero redeemable qualities, so being white is the only thing you have left going for you - and I'm not the type to tell a kid that Santa isn't real, so I'll just let you be.
Carling L. Me to brother respect her strength and courage and resilience, I do , I love my black women too
The fact that this woman isn’t one of Hollywood’s highest paid actors is a travesty of epic proportion! The build up in this scene is simply remarkable! acting brilliance!
I literally can't understand racism... Can't understand hate between human beings. How can you judge human beings by the color of their skin. It's just... I don't know... I don't get it.
Margaux C ...keep on living Baby, you ain’t seen nothing yet!!! History has a way of repeating itself! 👌🏽
Literally same, humans are just stupid
Same shit I said, I really can't understand that bullshit tbh... I just can't
You know that people say we are Afraid of What we Don’t UNDERSTAND?
I’m just saying that what we don’t understand in the case of the colour of people’s skin, we have turned into HATRED.
And ended up hating, discriminating and making slaves out of such human beings who are just like all of us, except that they are different (which everyone today is; everybody is different and unique in their own way and we all have the right to be who and how we are)
and difference I believe is the contributing factor to what caused such unequal treatment and segregation that’s been placed upon these poor souls since the dawn of time, and a lot of people from the past who have suffered from this have ended up being buried in it, and their descendants today might not suffer just as much, but should never have to suffer from it again for as long as the human age continues until it ends.
This scene was so amazing he tried to put her on blast she flipped the whole script on him put him on blast.
She straight UNO Reversed his ass.

I wasn’t, I’ve seen better emotion, and I didn’t like the film in general ( not the perspective of the moon landing I really wanted to see)

Gary Young It was nominated for best picture
Oscars are a joke. She should have won.
Bruh the oscars isn’t nominating things because they’re good, the oscars only nominates things if the studios behind the movies pay the oscars enough money

It’s such a shame 🤦🏼♀️
I put a thumbs down on this movie because this movie did NASA no justice what so ever and this movie made it seem as though the entire Gemini program was dependent on that one female to get the Agina rocket into orbit, now I’m not trying to discredit her, she was amazing at her job and she was even able to calculate the re-entry coordinates of the last stage capsule, however NASA had several departments spread out around the United States and had the smartest minds in the world all working on the Gemini program and she had no major positions in NASA she was just a calculator who was there to double check the work of the Aerospace Engineers, she was even told to stop putting her name on the reports because she didn’t do any of the work all she did was check it to see if the math added up, imagine if your editor tried putting his name on the front cover of a book that you wrote and made it seam as though he helped creat it, fuck that his name goes in the back all he did was checked your spelling,
If NASA was dependent on any one person, that would have to be the Aerospace engineer wernher von braun who presented the idea of using rockets to go to space to the America government and promoted it to the American public, and developed it into the Apollo missions to get the mighty Saturn V rocket to the moon
NASA was in no way dependent on a calculator thats sole purpose it was in that one ☝️ department was to just double check the work of others
That’s why I gave this movie a thumbs down, they made it seem as though they (needed) her and they couldn’t have done it without her, which is complete bullshit and anyone who believes that bS is completely ignorant of what really happened and the history of the Gemini space program and it’s Agina rocket and all the physicist, aerospace engineers, electrical engineers, plumbing experts, chemist, scientist, manufactures, privet and military sectors, and all the people that helped lead to the Agina rocket then later the Saturn 1b then later the most powerful rocket ever built the Saturn V rocket
I’m sorry but this woman although amazing at her job was not the sole reason for NASA’s accomplishments she was however an great addition to the team , and the movie just pissed me off for all of its inaccuracies and you could just tell through out the movie there trying to push the narrative that she was so important that NASA “needed” her and couldn’t have done it without her 🙄 I hate movies like this that glorify one individual and make everyone els seem like their all incompetent at their jobs and aren’t really important and are the villains towards progress 🤦♂️
And yea I get it she is a woman of color fighting for equal rights, that’s great and all but what’s any of that have to do with the development of the Gemini program and the Agina rocket 🤷♂️
They probably all white...

Cindie Calderón what is the point of your comment lol
Thanks ✨✨
Cindie Calderón like I really hope you’re able to change your opinion on this.
She should've gotten an Oscar for this role
This scene is so powerful and emotional.
You're Beautiful 😍
When the director said " and cut". All the actors applauded, she nailed that scene and the audience will feel hey frustration and angst.
The next scene where Costner's character mentioned about the coffee machine and tearing down the signs outside the toilets was most satisfying. I loved the movie , especially the epilogue at the end. Those women sure made a contribution to the Apollo program and all the leading ladies who got to play them knew that a lot of 30 something black female actors would run through brick walls to play those pioneering lionesses. Great film.
This scene alone proves how poignant Taraji is as an actor. One of the greats of this generation.

Tad Meissner I heard that this never really happened.
