Maybe we should celebrate Dorothy Vaughan more than we do Oprah and puff daddy or p Diddy. Dorothy is actually worthy of our praise. She stood for something and EARNED respect.
And you are right it’s sad my community doesn’t look up to the ones who paved a way for us I will admit there are some rappers and singers like gambino who are leaders in the community but now and days we so blind by social media any time we get a hand they blind with scandles like letting thug out the nelly case all these rap house pages that never promote the good that they do cause a lot of them do a lot of good for they communities to try to make amends but they won’t show that they try to keep us under
@markcaputo-d1g Let me be clear. When I said we glorify the wrong people I should have said we should only glorify GOD. He was the one who gave those women the gifts that they had. While they should be acknowledged for their accomplishments, only GOD should get the glory.
I used to watch Hidden figures everyday back during the pandemic in 2021 since I had zoom math classes in 11th grade. Always made me smile and the reason why I finally got straight A's for the first time and onwards. 😊😊Nostalgic and really influenced my way of thinking as an adult now. Thank you Katharine Johnson❤
GREAT JOB 👍 IM SURE MRS JOHNSON WOULD BE VERY PROUD OF YOU I HAVE DAUGHTERS AND I TOOK MY GRANDDAUGHTER TO SEE 👀 IT IN THE MOVIES 🎬 AND I HAVE IT ON DVD
Gods, this movie literally gets me in the feels every damned time I see it.. It was SOOOOOOO good. Can't wait to show this to my granddaughter when she's old enough to understand the underlying nuances, as well as the brilliance of the three stunningly intelligent women featured!
Maybe we should celebrate Katharine Johnson more. She had been working at the Langley Computation Center for 10 years before the John Glen launch. She published more than 20 papers on aviation and space flight and was involved in telemetry calculations for the moon landings.
One thing I love about this movie, is that yes it points out racism, it points out sexism, but it doesn't turn all the characters into two dimensions... That cop was absolutely a racist in some other movie, in this movie he was both a racist and "an American".
Ok, at 4:25 the text says "Oilers method". Two corrections. First, it's Euler (as in, Leonhard Euler). Second, it's possessive. So it's "Euler's method". Normally, I wouldn't be so picky. But in a movie that celebrates mathematics (in addition to women's rights and civil rights), I think we should expect to spell Euler's name correctly. He was, after all, perhaps the greatest mathematician that ever lived.
The best scene that I liked in this movie was when there were no barriers. People were all working together, not worrying about colours but concentrating on their strengths. Now, that is something that would make America greater than it already is.
It's taken too long for these beautiful, incredible women to be recognised. And far too long for their story to be told. They are so inspiring, their names should be household names as much as Einstein, Newton, George Washington Carver, Tesla, Copernicus and so on.
To take her seat at the table, she needed a badge. Kevin C. asks who's in charge of that. She said the boss...you are the boss ..you just need to act like it.
An absolutely incredible movie!! I’m so proud of all three ladies who had to overcome terrible racism and misogyny to all achieve greatness. It’s so wonderful how they all achieved great things in their lives. One of my favourite films of all time.
The good boss & reliable subordinate relationship between Costner & taraji in this movie is highly underated. Costner as her overall supervisor @ that did some subtle & not so subtle work to make her shine. Great reespect to the real life persons.
The sad part is that Black women are given awards for degrading roles such as slaves, maids or a woman sleeping with the man who killed her husband. This instead of for roles such as Dorothy Dandridge or this role. Even Denzel Washington didn't receive his award for Malcolm X. Instead he received it for playing a rogue cop in Training Day. This much change!
Amazing but truthful about the race, I still remember the "Colored" signs on water fountains and restrooms. As a Hebrew we were also at the bottom of the tank!
Excelente película que pone en alto la capacidad de mujer de pensar y porque no ser lideresas en cualquier ramo y en este caso ante las adversidades del color de piel se superaron y fueron fundamentales en que el hombre puede estar en el espacio,
The BEST part of the chalkboard scene ALWAYS seems to get cut from the highlights...what scene is that? Her brilliant "smirk" as if to say, I AM THE MASTER OF THIS SH*T!!!
there have been ground breaking black women through out americas history , they worked harder than most and earned there respect and accomplished so much , why then are so many blacks not accomplishing there potential , but griping for more hand outs. these women are shining examples , bravo ladies
I hate it when the movie show 1 character solve all the problems... Actual live, aint that way even for the really smart one. Always a team, that solve wall Break mathematical problems. A talk, a discussion between great minds, an exchange ideas etc.
It’s not Oiler but Euler and his numerical method is not very good - it’s only first order accurate. Better use at least a second order RK-method. That should be sufficient, IMO.
Why is this backwards? In the movie the map is on the other side of the wall? And I’m sure she is writing back words?. Enquiring minds want to know?🏴🇨🇦
Fantasy television: Kevin and Octavia as a Bob Newhart/Suzanne Pleshette couple, with Jim as the way-too-smart neighbor who drops by hoping for dinner.

I concur!! The Lord Jesus and these women are examples of who our children should pattern themselves after.
i agree 100 percent we all are glorifying the wrong people
@markcaputo-d1g Let me be clear. When I said we glorify the wrong people I should have said we should only glorify GOD. He was the one who gave those women the gifts that they had. While they should be acknowledged for their accomplishments, only GOD should get the glory.
@@gailwilliams4705 fair enough ,
I love that these women are brilliant! I can’t stop watching these clips
One of the best movies ever, in my opinion.
Absolutely 💯... ❤
I second that.😂
I agree... I've watched it dozens and dozens and dozens of times...
I agree with you

I totally agree with you. It shows everyone that you can do whaterer you want, regardless of the color of your skin.
Maybe we should celebrate Katharine Johnson more. She had been working at the Langley Computation Center for 10 years before the John Glen launch. She published more than 20 papers on aviation and space flight and was involved in telemetry calculations for the moon landings.
THIS IS....ONE OF THE BEST❤ MOVIES EVER MADE❤❤❤❤❤❤
This woman deserved the respect.
America Is Possible Of Greatness Because Women Like Them. LOVE.
What a wonderful, inspiring, movie. So well done and the cast was perfect.
One thing I love about this movie, is that yes it points out racism, it points out sexism, but it doesn't turn all the characters into two dimensions... That cop was absolutely a racist in some other movie, in this movie he was both a racist and "an American".
😅Kevin was very good for the black community
This movies make me cries each time i see racism .HUMAN BEING THAT WATH IT COUNT.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I hope not since these were real people and not just characters though I am sure they took creative liberty.
This is the most incredible movie ever!!I love it 😍!I can’t remember how many times I’ve watched!!
This was a movie that made me crazy. They were so very intelligent and dedicated. Really good to watch them.

I agree with you..i am studying that! So for sure it’s not just a name spelled in a movie..its MATH 🥹
AMEN BROTHA
An oiler is a worker that lubricates machines... content creators should do their research before putting out such fails...
The correct/original pronunciation of Euler is OY-ler. I presume the captioning is by voice recognition and it picked it up as Oiler.
@@Queb1648 I know the pronunciation. And you may well be right. But the person posting still has editorial control.
The best scene that I liked in this movie was when there were no barriers. People were all working together, not worrying about colours but concentrating on their strengths. Now, that is something that would make America greater than it already is.
Unfortunately, it won't be for at least another 4 years.
@kevg3320 😢
Taraji P. Henson is such an amazing actress
She is just adorable ❤
It's taken too long for these beautiful, incredible women to be recognised. And far too long for their story to be told. They are so inspiring, their names should be household names as much as Einstein, Newton, George Washington Carver, Tesla, Copernicus and so on.
You are so right.
Absolutely!! ❤
To take her seat at the table, she needed a badge. Kevin C. asks who's in charge of that. She said the boss...you are the boss ..you just need to act like it.

I believe your right! Watching the way these women were treated, I’m thinking, these women deserve respect, they’ve earned the respect. God Bless..
More Women like Her should be in the History Books.
One of the best movies I've seen. Memorable.
How in God's name was Taraji Henson not nominated for an Academy Award for this performance?
I have no idea. fr.
Totally agree.
The sad part is that Black women are given awards for degrading roles such as slaves, maids or a woman sleeping with the man who killed her husband. Amazing women! I love this movie and their stories. Brilliant women are everywhere! Again, great movie!
They all look so smart, sweet and kind in their real lives. 😍👏🏻
Why i’m cry every time when i saw a good humans and watch them get honoured and successful
Love this movie, especially the bathroom sign scene. Highly recommend!
My god, never get tired watching this. What great acting. 😂😂😂
Oh and I do love this movie. 🏴🇨🇦
How close and beautiful the future would be if we were all able to forget our differences and work together.
Why can’t we celebrate it all including differences and still work together?
Excellent movie and a story that should have been told along time ago.
My goodness what a great movie all around. Phenomenal
No calculator, no computer, no AI ... just saying 😌
possible one of the best films ive ever watched in my life.
One of my all time favourite movies.
Great film, great actors!
Excellent movie in so many ways.
I love how Sheldon in this seems so envious. XD
Lol, I noticed this too.
When Kevin stands up, I thought he would say "Bingo"❗😂😂😂
Excellent film!
And it still amazes that space travel begins with calculations written on a page... 🚀
Amazing but truthful about the race, I still remember the "Colored" signs on water fountains and restrooms. As a Hebrew we were also at the bottom of the tank!
Note to subtitle people. It is Euler's method not Oiler's method. Ffs.
Such a great movie...i was in tears
Brilliant movie
She has all my admiration.
Puts Marvel in its place.
oh snap
Best scenes are within the first five minutes of this Oscar-caliber..... tears every time
Too bad we're going back to this era
Didn't get past the adverts before I scrolled on.... 😂😂
This is a great movie......... I have watched it many times and love it more each time that I watch it.......
Sad to say I had never heard this ladies name before the movie she’s is amazing lady we should honor her and others history has hidden
That’s because it’s fiction.
I love these scenes. watch it for a class assignment. but it hook me.
I would just like to say. Don’t 4get how black parents think sports is the only way to be successful. Not education.
The truth will set you free
One of my most loved movies, watching it several times a year.
Excelente película que pone en alto la capacidad de mujer de pensar y porque no ser lideresas en cualquier ramo y en este caso ante las adversidades del color de piel se superaron y fueron fundamentales en que el hombre puede estar en el espacio,
4:24
Brooo thats Euler's method not oiler's method😂😂
Great movie and great actors ..ladies!
I love this film. BTW it’s Euler’s Theorem.
The subtitles are overkill 😔
thanks for the feedback.
4:25 Euler's method 🤣
Such a good movie
Sheldon ate some humble pie!
Very good movie. If you haven't watched it then do so.
Love this!!
I understand the trouble they had figuring out the math when all the numbers were inverted.
Oiler's method? LMAO.
I don't like math but this is the best movie about math
Excellent film such a shame that racism is so blind
I'm so glad disney made this movie.
Yes great movie..the best movie in all the characters. Thank you.
Most brilliant scenes? Why isn't the whole movie?
These ladies went to space and back. Well Done
The print of the film is reversed; read the print on the blackboard, everything is backwards.
The BEST part of the chalkboard scene ALWAYS seems to get cut from the highlights...what scene is that? Her brilliant "smirk" as if to say, I AM THE MASTER OF THIS SH*T!!!
there have been ground breaking black women through out americas history , they worked harder than most and earned there respect and accomplished so much , why then are so many blacks not accomplishing there potential , but griping for more hand outs. these women are shining examples , bravo ladies
racism is real bro.
Great movie, musta watched it a dozen times
I hate it when the movie show 1 character solve all the problems... Actual live, aint that way even for the really smart one. Always a team, that solve wall Break mathematical problems. A talk, a discussion between great minds, an exchange ideas etc.

Why are these excerpts always shown as a mirror image?
Harder to be spotted and put down for copyright infringment
Potenza del doppiaggio. La voce italiana di kostner è piu calzante della sua.
So do you suppose he flipped the video around left to right to avoid the copyright strikes?
Good movie though. Even if this is an authorized.
True is a true story
Taraji Henson Was Also Great In, 'Person Of Interest'. Thank You. (Comment #79)
Seems a bit overwrought. Just a bit.
Why is this backwards? In the movie the map is on the other side of the wall? And I’m sure she is writing back words?. Enquiring minds want to know?🏴🇨🇦
A very cool movie
FFS, Euler's method
Let’s see whoopy do that 😝
Name of movie please
Read the title !
Hidden figures
Fantasy television: Kevin and Octavia as a Bob Newhart/Suzanne Pleshette couple, with Jim as the way-too-smart neighbor who drops by hoping for dinner.
My dog eats your food and still lights his paws and itches his body. Got an answer for that
🤩😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Its Eulers Method. Not Oilers. Fix your thumbnail
So sad!
wierd seeing sheldon not know the answer
🤣
Euler, not oiler.
Those cops are absolute GEMS.
It's Euler's Method, not oilers method lol
