CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Hulk (Eric Bana) appears to finally be defeated when General Ross (Sam Elliott) attacks him with four well armed helicopters.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Ang Lee directs the live-action feature film The Hulk, based on the Marvel comic book created by Stan Lee and illustrated by Jack Kirby. Emotionally stunted Dr. Bruce Banner (Eric Bana) is part of a research team at the University of California at Berkeley. Corporate hustler Glenn Talbot (Josh Lucas) takes notice of the lab and makes plans to take it over. Then Bruce accidentally gets hit by an experimental ray and grows into a huge beast, destroying the lab in the process. A creepy janitor who claims to be his real father, Dr. David Banner (Nick Nolte), starts to secretly use the experimental ray on himself. He creates some mutant dogs and sends them after Bruce's lab mate and ex-girlfriend Betty Ross (Jennifer Connelly). After Bruce saves her life in the form of the Hulk, she lets her distant father, General Ross (Sam Elliott), take him to an abandoned army base in the desert. However, Glenn Talbot takes over the operation and wants to patent the creature's superpowers for his own profit, so he holds Bruce unconscious in an isolation tank. When provoked, Bruce turns into the Hulk and makes a break for San Francisco, leading to a desert chase sequence involving military aircraft, tanks, and bombs. Only the sight of Betty can make him turn back to his human form. When he is eventually captured, Dr. David Banner shows up for a final confrontation with his son and his old adversary, General Ross.

I never understood why everyone says this movie didn’t have enough action. This scene alone is spectacular! Blew me away when I first saw it.
For 2 hours and 18 minutes that is a lot of dialogue scenes, and the action scenes just feel spread a little thin. I think they could have scrapped aspects of the father arc and just made Ross and Talbot the main villains and we'd have more room for scenes like this. Blade has a similar problem of pacing and action.

@@namyar4254 I've read Hulk comics, I know what Hulk is supposed to be. I didn't even say I disliked the film because it is good in some aspects. Jennifer Connolly and Eric Bana just aren't charismatic enough to carry so many dialogue scenes without it becoming boring, because they just sit there and look at each other. Anyway, it's my opinion and I'm not changing it for you.

There's plenty of action in my opinion. The lab destruction during his tantrum, Talbot making a big mistake, the gamma dogs fight, the base escape, the tank fight, this fight, San Francisco attack and the fight with David

Both Hulk & Thor, who were the true masculine, real, & Raw powered Heroes in the entire Marvel Universe movies, you MARVEL IDIOTS turned them hilarious. Shame on the writers, directors, producers & especially actors, for accepting cheques over characters they're playing.
I am still mad at people for accepting & then trashing Mark Ruffalo for being a different hulk.
May I remember you, Hulk & Incredible Hulk were the only two iterations, where Hulk was Actually Hulk. Not even the Hulk in any Avengers movie, made it to that standard.

It's went from "Action" genre to "comedy". But if you please let me translate that "comedy" genre, I'd say "Terrible"
I have the same feeling for & about Dr. Strange in "Multiversre of Madness" too. I mean, Dr. Strange battled with Thanos who had all the five stones & Dr. Strange turned his attacks into Figurative BUTTERFLIES.
But after experiencing multiverse, he failed to get Wanda, whom he knew very well & she was quite powerful in avengers but failed to save her brother & her love, Vision and couldn't save the world from Thanos!
Now she dreams of her children, I wonder where they came from & seriously, there was no ONE MAN WHO COULD STAND AGAINST HER, in the entire Kamar-Taj or the mighty Kamar-Taj entirely as one, as Dr. Strange stated to her. Not Even the Dr. Strange WHO FOUGHT THANOS, THAT HAD ALL THE 5 RINGS, to some extent. Seriously. I can go on. What a shame!
But, Marvel? Are you in your senses? Do you think your sequels are justifiable? Shame on you!
These sequel story writers & directors are seriously out of their mind. Don't you see? They are not fit for the job. If you understand what I mean, even an X-Men character was present in a movie.

What I liked particularly about this version is that both the Hulk and General Ross both had major anger issues but neither of them were cavalier with people's lives. Hulk didn't kill anyone and Ross was always making sure his people were all right.

Meanwhile a 3 and a half minute clip from a Hulk movie racks up over 20 million views.
The studio is in a way correct, given Disney-affiliated studios' penchant for "subverting expectations".

This movie is what got me into the Hulk.
I know some ppl say that this Hulk kinda looked like Shrek but I didn’t think he looked bad at all. The CGI of the helicopters & rock formations was also outstanding.
God I love how the pilots communications aren’t cut audio, we can hear them talking and trying to formulate plans as Hulk batters through everything they throw at him. At 1:35, one Supercobra calls the other to move away from the Hulk and clear his line of sight to avoid friendly fire as he fires missiles.

Thats what makes this movie stand out from all the others. Theres so much attention to detail and accuracy. Everything has a realistic weight and logic to it. The way hulk looks, moves and sounds. Everyone's reaction to dealing with the hulk. The emotions and thoughts from all the characters are really believable. How, like you said, the soldiers coordinate. It's very grounded, comparable to Chris Nolan's Batman movies and The 1st iron man movie. Except this was even before any of that. There was a lot of thought put into this movie and is still the best live action hulk to date in my opinion.

Never understood how those two choppers supposedly hit at 0:54 without their props getting into each other. The angle isn't right for that scene to be possible at all.

I know this movie wasn't all good, but the one thing they got right was the amazingly vibrant colors, I like the new movies, but the filter that they use In the mcu is really dull

This movie was the best version about Hulk. This is not simple silly blockbuster but really good dramatic entertainment with great actors from Lee.

This film is still great. Incredible was great too but I only saw once and that was enough. This one I keep coming back to. Great characters too. Ang Lee poured himself into this and it shows.

I've always thought they'd fly the Attack Helicopter seeing that Aircraft is their specialty, I suppose only other country Air Force get to fly the Attack Helicopter for their branch.
