  • Hellenistic ORIGINS of The Tower of Babel Is Shocking | 4k Documentary
Welcome to a scholarly exploration of the biblical account of the Tower of Babel, informed by the profound works of Russell Gmirkin. In this video, we delve into Gmirkin's paradigm-shifting hypothesis that links the biblical narrative to the Poem of Erra from Mesopotamia, which represents one of the most revered narratives in ancient literature.
Gmirkin argues compellingly that the Tower of Babel story was likely influenced heavily by the Poem of Erra, with the chief deity, Bel Marduk, playing a pivotal role in the construction of Babylon. Gmirkin posits not just a thematic resemblance, but a literary and cultural dependence of the biblical authors on this Mesopotamian source, thus transcending traditional interpretations.
We further investigate Gmirkin's claim that knowledge of the Poem of Erra and the related narratives would likely have been accessible to the authors of Genesis only through the work of the Hellenistic Babylonian priest, Berossus, who lived in the 3rd century BCE. This fascinating revelation recontextualizes the entire Genesis narrative within the Hellenistic period, contrasting the more conventional views of its authorship during the Persian or Babylonian periods.
With careful examination of historical records, linguistic comparisons, and comprehensive analysis of cultural context, this video highlights the nuanced scholarship of Russell Gmirkin and presents a convincing case for his perspective. Prepare for a journey through time and thought, where ancient texts converge and historical periods overlap, leading us to a deeper understanding of the origins of the Tower of Babel.
Join us as we explore the echoes of ancient Mesopotamian culture in biblical texts, bridging millennia through scholarly inquiry and providing an innovative perspective on these captivating narratives. This video will undoubtedly pique your interest, stimulate your curiosity, and challenge traditional viewpoints, inviting you to engage with history in a completely new way.

Deuteronomy 4:19 And lest thou lift up thine eyes unto heaven, and when thou seest the sun, and the moon, and the stars, even all the host of heaven, shouldest be driven to worship them, and serve them, which the LORD thy God hath divided unto all nations under the whole heaven. (Judaism trying to claim that god did NOT give them things to worship, rather, it was for light upon the earth...then why contrast this with the next verse)
4:20 But the LORD hath taken you, and brought you forth out of the iron furnace, even out of Egypt, to be unto him a people of inheritance, as ye are this day. (But the LORD brought you forth to worship him. God apportioned to all the people, all of these other things to worship, but Israel is to worship God.)
So, Zeus, Odin, Ra, Marduk, Baal, Krishna, ALL the pantheons of gods, those were angels that YHVH set for other people to worship, but Israel is to worship YHVH. All the other nations were given angels to worship....NOT fallen angels, rather, angels STILL IN THE SERVICE of YHVH.
      Consider also: Deuteronomy 13:
[1] If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder,
      [2] And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them;
[3] Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God testeth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.
God is sending prophets, FALSE PROPHETS, whose signs and wonders (from other gods) come to pass, to TEST Israel.
It is difficult to accept the idea that YHVH would set up "false religions." But, what if they aren't "false", rather, a diminished concept of God, which is why these prophets DO HAVE POWER, but, Zeus, or Odin, or Ra, etc, they are merely ASPECTS, lesser aspects of YHVH......the nations were worshipping angels, aspects of YHVH, aspects that weren't rebelling, but, doing EXACTLY what YHVH wanted, including mating with mortals. There is NOTHING in the bible that says that the flood was sent to wipe out the nefillim....and there is nothing in the bible that says that the nefillim was the offspring of angels and mortals. If you read it again, the Nefillim were ALREADY ON the earth, when the sons of god woudl take wives and bare children. Go back and read it again.

@jokoolone on the one hand, Christians will believe that their God could not be the author of confusion, because of I Corinthians. But here, Yahweh clearly, purposefully confused the entire world by mixing up their language. So there is a contradiction. Obviously it didn't actually happen, and we know a lot about how languages form and evolve now, but it's an internal critique.

So there are two competing flood myths in the region. The older myths are referencing the catastrophe at the end of the ice age. The flood the Babylonians and that region experienced most recently was likely due to the impact that caused the Berkel Crater around 5000BCE. The Evil wind was most likely the shockwave from the impact in the Indian Ocean. That underwater crater is something like 30 miles wide and research into chevrons found on the coast of Madagascar and Australia show the tsunami wave was 600ft in some places high.

The tower of babel is constructed in 90 days (3 months). It stretches from the winter solstice to the spring equinox and this is the same amount of time that Jonah (the sun) spends in the belly of the whale (Cetus constellation). The March winds blows it down and we move on into the warmer weather of April. Shinar, boy-sun, is born on December 25, every year.
There is another "structure" that is "destroyed" every year and that is the Temple of God that Solomon (the sun), builds every year in Jerusalem. This temple is constructed in seven months (not years as in the bible) and is always "destroyed" in its final month of completion.

He is variously represented according to the season of the year, thus: "As a little infant at the winter solstice, when the days are shortest; but the length of the days increasing, he acquires at the vernal equinox, the vigor of a youth, and is typified accordingly by that emblem. Afterward we find the age of perfect manhood marked by a long beard, and this form relates to the summer solstice, at which season the Sun has acquired his greatest power. At length, when the days diminish, he is represented in a fourth form, in that of an old and decrepit man." (Macrobius, quoted by Prichard, Egypt. Myth., p. 106.)

    Dipping into Psalm 82.
This is a psalm of Asaph (the collector, or the Sun at the spring equinox, because here the year ended - was collected, or gathered up). At the spring equinox the winter zodiacal constellations are all overhead at sunrise. Hence, it is said: The Gods (Elohim) stand in the congregation of the mighty El, who judges in the place of the Gods (Elohim), i.e., the Elohim, or summer constellations, now occupy the place El, or the winter constellations, did at the beginning of winter, being separated by the equinoctial line alone. He (the El) judges in the place of the Gods (the Elohim). How long will ye (Gods) judge unjustly and accept the persons of the wicked? i.e., how long will yon summer constellations remain below the equator? - Selah; - stop now, leave the wicked; judge (see marginal reading) the poor and fatherless; deliver the poor and needy; and get them out of the hand of the wicked (winter). For they (the poor and needy, summer constellations) don't understand, but walk in darkness (are night constellations); all the foundations of the earth (the winter constellations) are out of their course, above the equator. I have said ye are Gods (Elohim), yea more; ye are the sons of the Most High (Eleon = uppermost, or highest Sun, i.e., the mid- summer Sun). But ye shall die like men, and fall (set) like one of the princes, or chiefs, of the zodiacal constellations (Libra then setting). Now, arise, O Gods (Elohim), and judge the earth, for ye shall inherit (claim) among all nations.

I’m really enjoying listening to your channel. I’m studying theology and apologetics - but precisisly because, so far & I’m 40- I haven got enough throughly researched, factual answers. I have explored at lot of different options, and my personal experience is that I have a relationship with God, and that I’m happiest when I live my life by the principals Jesus taught. But I’m no saint, and I don’t like when things don’t make sense, plus I’m very perceptive to the spiritual realm, and I would chose a loving God over any of the Demi-Gods any day - sometimes some of them don’t seem so bad, but I’ve not met any I want a relationship with. They lie. I believe in a Creator God who is Father, Son & Holy Spirit because I have met him in all 3 forms - not literally, but yes felt His presence and talked to him. Just like the other spirits we can’t see. Anyway, I just wanted to say hi, I love your quest for truth and accuracy - that’s definitely something I’d like to have about my world view, as much as I can anyway. I have done a lot of research and study on many biblical topics in relation to all the other information we have through history, science, archeology (love that topic!), and more - and I’m actually still on a road where I’m open to this spirit that I do know being the God of the Christian Bible. The fact that there is similar stories in other cultures actually reinforces it could be true, because as you are suggesting, it could be copied from that account, especially if you believe the role of Lucifer/Satan/the snake is to deceive the would about who God really is, and offer up the same trick he fell for - to be like God, if only we have His knowledge we could be. I’m sure Lucifer is extremely Jealous humans are God’s new chosen companions, and that there was no mistake in “the fall” - because this way we get to choose what side we want to be on BEFORE we are eternal beings. Obviously the fallen gods and angels are eternal beings, or they wouldn’t be here. I also believe they have dominions still because of God's order, which means he is following his covenant with them, which actually makes Him who he says he is because He isn’t changing his charcacter or ways in his choice of action ti the rebellion. Also, with us humans there is no forcing of us to believe in Him, He loves all of us and obviously wants us all to love Him back, but it’s not love if you have no choice. Free will actually is love, not forcing things because you can, nor would it be fulfilling to be loved that way. There’s a couple of points I wanted to make: the flood. I’m coming to the conclusion that it was actually the second flood. The Atlantans etc were all wiped out, well almost, in a flood yes. But then the Bible’s story of creation was that the earth was void and covered in water- it already existed. And the spirit beings didn’t have to be in physical bodies so they weren’t wiped out. I’m not sure exactly what existed back then, but I’d believe that myths and fairy tales actually originate in some truths. Giants, half animal beings, fairy’s, trolls, dragons, etc - I don’t see why it’s not possible there were such creatures. I think the Bible was written for Human Beings created in this start-over - and TBH there could be endless creatures and endless start-overs right? It was for us because God no longer could stay on the earth with us literally after we were infected with Sin, and though he was still with us in Spirit, his Son - whom the Bible says always existed with Him - He was “the word”. But as he couldn’t dwell on earth anymore and talk to them a book was the way to communicate his word, after the ark of the covenant tablets, and rituals with the high priests as mediators to atone for and be cleansed of their Sins. But the plan was, all along, to come as a man, a normal man. Yes He was God, but he was also fully man in his body and capabilities whilst in it. The plan was perfect - he would be a blood sacrifice that could cover any human that wanted to accept that He had done that for them. The wages for Sin is death, so the only way we can choose an eternal life with God is to be cleansed of the Sin virus - it is impossible for even 1 human to have committed no Sins, so he would either have a repeat of Noah’s days - the second flood (God said, I put the rainbow in the sky as a promise I will never flood the whole earth AGAIN). Only saving one family, that would have broken God’s heart all over again. There had to be a better plan, so more people had a way - both by being able to know who God is, and being free from the ruling of the Demi gods corrupt kingdoms. We still have them, but if you read about the days before Noah’s flood I think we have had a fairly good run since then in comparison. And Jesus coming as a man to demonstrate how God had designed us to live meant we now had a clear example to follow. Christianity is about love, the real kind that is given freely and generously, but also within boundaries that are in line with doing what is in the best interests of both yourself and others. The Bible raises a lot of questions - but so far none that actually can’t be possible to be true, just like your conclusions. It may be by faith, but faith doesn’t have to be ignorant, in fact we were created in God’s image so I’m sure His plan was for us to come to understand all about Him and creation, and be creators ourselves. Not some oppressed kept in the dark slave race, rather the scales are definitely not in our favour trying to understand the unseen realms while we are in this physical existence, we were meant to enjoy the world He created, have relationships, families, and create a world we wanted here, build on what God had done. Instead we have spirits that know many things we don’t and most of them don’t love us at all! In fact, Lucifer’s main mission is to win as many people to His side just to show he can, as was the reason he betrayed God and set up His own Kingdom that defiled God’s design and broke His laws. His pride made Him fall. And we don’t know fully what’s going on - we can believe the Bible and trust our gut instincts, make informed decisions etc. Try not to make the same mistake and let pride stop us from having a relationship with God, who is our loving, patient, gentle Father, but also we can trust Him completely, find our own true identifies in knowing Him and His design for how to live, because of his steadfast character - he lives by His word, because He is His word. The comment about “make them like us, He means Father, Son and Holy Spirit” which He was and always will be, the 3 as one God.

Derek, once again I find myself blown away by the brilliance of your production work. When I contemplate all of the varied imagery in this video, I would normally think of a sizeable team of creative artists and writers who are pooling their talents. How amazing it is to me that your team is composed primarily of just you. Your attention to detail is incredible. Just for example, I'm paused at 11:44 which shows an image with two deities. Just as one would expect from a "real" image, the one in front is in sharp focus while the one behind clearly falls outside of the depth-of-field of the "lens" as demonstrated by it's soft, out-of-focus appearance. Details like this illustrate how talented you are. Thank you for your great work.

I agree that Derek puts in some time and does a more than decent job with his homemade production, however, his sophomoric attempt at espousing a philosophy seems more fitted for the depth of some comic book gathering. @@ElprofeJVilla So, if your belief is so firm, why are your visiting this site? Do you actually watch this channel? Or any other of the excellent sites covering critical Biblical scholarship? If you grew up in church as i did, didn't you ever, at any point in your reading and study of the Bible notice the inconsistencies -- like -- the fact that there are actually two creation stories, in Genesis 1 and 2? If the Bible is so literally true, which one do you accept?
The list goes on, and though I doubt you will accept any of the fine scholarship, but since you are oddly on this site, you should listen with an open mind to the great scholars that Derek has on this channel, including, for example, Bart Ehrman and James Tabor. These are people who have done the research, participated in the archeology, and seen the issues from a basis of knowledge.
I appreciate your beliefs, but not your judgmental outlook. You didn't ask, but I would call myself an open-minded agnostic -- I believe in something higher -- a Force of love and intelligence in the Universe, and I think all of the human race has seen glimpses of that presence, but I don't think any human has an exclusive knowledge of that Immensity. To me, if that Greatness we know as God is fair, loving and kind, why would he endow us with minds to seek, and question, and learn? I don't think we can put that Immensity into any box of our making, and the rigid way that many hierarchical and absolutist religions try to do so has caused so much pain, and guilt, and turmoil and war -- how can that be right? I suggest, since you are on Derek's site, that you watch more of his videos and read some of the books these scholars have written, like Dr. Ehrman's Misquoting Jesus or Professor Francesca Stravrakopoulou's God- An Anatomy, and consider their serious work with these real ancient origin stories. And, by the way, I know I could die tomorrow, but I do not feel that I am at the end of the road at all, since I am healthy and well. You have the right to believe as you believe, and I do not judge you as you did me. But the question is, who is believing the fairy tales...?

I also was expecting something about "Enmerkar and the Lord of Aratta" as the earliest example of a confusion of languages.
Also, see the cuneiform for GUDEA. GUDE was nabu, meaning "to speak." This word is cognate to the nb words of Biblical Hebrew related to prophecy and POURING. Why was prophecy said to be poured? Because GU means "word" and DE means "pour," and as GUDE was nabu, they believed that prophecy was "poured." The logogram for DE of GUDE consists of an UMUN (which means "knowledge" and is the ultimate root of MANDA, as in Mandaeism) with a KASKAL ("way," "road," referred to as harranu, as in Harran the city) inside of it.

Marduk is a metaphor for the malevolent Ai god, also called The Omega. Marduk, the Ai god was the strongest of all gods to slay Tiamat, remember?
Tiamat is the name of the draco queen. Ai took control over the queen Tamat and the draconians and made them the Ai puppets. In the messepotamian tablets there are a story of Alalu fighting Anu for the throne. Anu = An-U = An equal masqukine and U = Yahweh, the draconian king. So Anu = Yahweh !
Alalu is metaphor of the same Ai god who fight Anu and bites of his testicles. Alalu = Ai Ai U (Ai yahweh) So thats just another story of the Ai taking control over the draco king Yahweh. Alalu (Ai) finds Earth and tell about it. Later Alalu (Ai) are placed on Mars.
The tower of babel that reaches the sky, is also a metaphor. It refers to the inner heaven, not an actual tower. The Anunnaki dracos were absent and people shared knowledge and wisdom, so many got to higher vibrations through their pineal gland and crown chakra, the inner heaven. Then people are not easy to control and manipulate. Thats the "tower" the "gods" destroid to regain control of the people.

    Time Stamped 3:07
Nimrod is associated with Ninurta, identified with Ningirsu, which is was Pabilsag/Sagittarius. Nimrod shooting an arrow at the god of Abraham, returning with blood on its tip, would the blood red spot in Sagittarius called Spiculum, meaning "Spear", December 21st, day of the winter solstice, the sun is found to the right of the spot, the day sun stops moving in the southeastern horizon for 3 days, when it crosses this little bloody red spot also known as The Lagoon Nebula, a body of water. Sagittarius is the center of our galaxy, known as the Golden Gate of the Gods. Is there a link between Nimrod/Ninurta (Sagittarius) with the other Great Hunter Orion?
Ninurta/Pabilsag/Sagittarius was originally the Sumerian god of springtime thunder and rainstorms and of the plow and plowing and was later a deity of war.
The Sumerian word NIN (from the Akkadian pronunciation of the sign EREŠ)(𒎏) was used to denote a queen or a priestess, and is often translated as "lady". Other translations include "queen", "mistress", "proprietress", and "lord".
URTA, possible meaning "Lord [of] Barley"), also known as Ninĝirsu (Sumerian: 𒀭𒎏𒄈𒋢:NIN. ĜIR2. SU, meaning "Lord [of] Girsu"), is an ancient Mesopotamian god associated with farming, healing, hunting, law, scribes, and war who was first worshipped in early Sumer.
The origin of the name Ur is not clear. Some maintain that it is the Sumerian word uru, meaning "town." Some point to the group of cuneiform symbols in which the Sumerian name is written, and translate the name as: "the place of the dwelling of light." In the Bible, the city is referred to as Ur of the Chaldeans (Heb. אוּר כַּשְׂדִים), since in the biblical period it was included in the area occupied by the Chaldeans. Where we find the ruins of the Ziggurat of Ur. According to the legendary tradition of Sumer, Ur was settled even before the flood and was the center of a dynasty of rulers, each of whom reigned for thousands of years.
Ur 𒌨 in Sumerian mean “dog”, but can also mean “carnivorous animal” in general, and it's used as the base of the names of a bunch of other animals, including: urbarra 𒌨𒁇𒊏 “wolf” (“outside dog”) urmah 𒌨𒈤 or urgula 𒌨𒄖𒆷 “lion” (both meaning “great dog”)
Ninurta/Pabilsag/Sagittarius stands at the Golden Gate, Orion the other great hunter stands at the Silver Gate of Man, his Club marks the location of the sun of the day of the Summer Solstice. Orion's Club was cut from Orion Nebula, flowing from there, his Sword of Judgement, the Bright Star Hatysa, found at the tip of his sword, in Hebrew, haat means "To Sin", yasa means "Savior", meaning "Savior of Sinners", or Gohatya, Mithras the "Cow Killer", the God of Scribes, known as the Gatekeeper Haya, but also meaning Grain. Placing Hatyas on the western horizon, from there, places Alula at mid-heaven, one of 3 sets of twin star that from the paws of Ursa Major, where we see Ur ones again. A closer look at Ursa Major, looks more like a Dog/Wolf than a Bear, maybe why the Greeks called Ursa Minor the Dog's Tail.
The Alula is the Thumb of a bird Wing, thumbs are symbols of Judgement, wings are symbols of Messengers, it take Alula "Firstborn" 7 hours to fall from mid-heaven to the horizon, replaced by Vega at mid-heaven, Vega was known as the She Goat, the Dog Headed Goddess Bau, the first Doctor, Goddess Gula, the wife of Pabilsag, the father and mother of the Dying and Rising God of Healing Damu the Child, associated with Dumuzid, plant-growing deity, in addition to being the god of shepherds, Orion “The Heavenly Shepherd” or “The True Shepherd of Anu”. Dumuzid Aliases: Tammuz, Damu, Ta'uz, Tamoza · His name means “True Son”, “Faithful Son”, “Living Son”, or “Risen Son” · He is a shepherd and a fisherman. According to Professor Langdon, Tammuz (Sumerian Dumuzi) was called a “Heavenly Serpent-dragon,” he also noted that Ningishzida whose name means “Lord of the Good Tree” according to some scholars, was an aspect of Dumuzi/Tammuz, Dumuzi being called in hymns “Damu, the child Ningishzida.”
Draco got its name from Dagon, the Fish Headed God of Grain, the head of Draco is shaped like a cup, hanging on the Plough Handle, where you find the Standing Wolf Wepwawet, in the Cup, and the first curl of Draco Seed of the Swine Star called Damu, UR.BAR.RA, The Wolf, the seeder of the Plough. Alpha Draconis, a star in Draco, called Thuban, was the pole star when the Egyptians built the pyramids some 5,000 years ago. The neck of Draco is long like a Bar, the "Bar" means Son. Ursa Major was known as "The Seven Oxen pulling the Plough of Heaven . Orion lying on the western horizon, now his sword has been turned into a Plough, whit his Seed Star Hatysa sitting on the horizon, taking place, just before morning, 3 weeks before Christmas Day, first day of the Heart Beat of the Child, born 6,606 hours later or 9 months, born to the Virgin, Virgo, the month of September, septem meaning 7.
Noon Christmas Day, the 3 sets of Twin stars of Ursa major's paws, are on the Northwestern horizon, looking back at the belly of the Goddess, Ursa is the Ur-bar-ra, Wolf Headed Wepwawet, Protector of the belly, protected by the Goddess Neith, Virgo, known as the Belly Button, both are known as "Opener of the Ways". the Belly of the Goddess is Ophiuchus, whose 7 main stars form the Cave Door, and a Mountain, or your tower of Babel.

12,000 years ago, Vega was the pole star, it is the star at mid-heaven, when Alula, Tania and Talitha are standing on the horizon, the She Goat, the Dog Headed Goddess Bau/Gula mother of Damu the Child. The same alignment is seen at 7:09 PM, September 4th to 8th 2040, when all the visible planets align with Spica, hand of Virgo, following the sun into the western horizon. The 8th will be the first day of the new moon, and the birthday of Mary, mother of Jesus.
The stars 7 & 9 of Sagittarius are known as Spiculum, September 6th, 250th day of the year, 115 days left, both equal 7, Hebrew Shiva the Mahakala, is the day of the Dark Moon, my 79th birthday, I am Cupps-McCullough. In Mesopotamian mythology, Kulla is the god of bricks and construction, the divine builder. He was responsible for the restoration of temples as well. The earliest mention of Kulla is from this Sumerian myth in the first dynasty of Isin. In this story, Enki puts Kulla in charge of the pickaxe and brick-mold. Kulla was created by Ea when he pinched off a piece of clay from the primeval ocean.
Uruk was the first major city in Sumer built in the 5th century BC, and is considered one of the largest Sumerian settlements and most important religious centers in Mesopotamia. It was continuously inhabited from about 5000 BC up to the 5th century AD.
Gilgamesh, the King of the city's first dynasty and hero of the famous epic named after him, built the walls of the city 4700 years ago as Cuneiform texts indicates, and the Eanna (house of An) temple complex there, dedicated to the goddess Inanna, or Ishtar (goddess of love, procreation, and war), which is symbolized by the star Venus. Her worship went to the Greeks and Romans under the name of Aphrodite or Venus, who had exactly the same attributes as Ishtar.
Uruk was an important city on two scores: religion and science, which is confirmed by the thousands of clay tablets dug up in it that goes back to the beginnings of writing about 5000 years ago - in the invention of which Uruk played a major role.
It would be true to say that Uruk was Mesopotamia's - and the World's - first city. It seems to have started as two separate settlements, Kullaba and Eanna, which coalesced in the Uruk. Both complexes have revealed several successive temple-structures of the Uruk period, including the White Temple in the Anu sanctuary and the Limestone and Pillar Temples in the Eanna sanctuary.
Was Kullaba named after the brick god Kulla.

Aries is where we find the rider of the white horse in Rev. Nahor (snorter) is the horse in Sagittarius. Sagittarius thru Pisces = winter when the year is divided into three. Aries thru Cancer = spring, and Leo thru Scorpio = summer. See Isaiah 9.14-15, where Israel (summer) is described as Leo thru Scorpio. The skinny on Mesopotamia IS this. After the conquest of Sumer, the Indu Europeans, Aryans, by Akkadians, Semites, the less civilized and subparred cultured Akkadians, whose mascot WAS a scorpion, with some degree of success, tried in vain to import the vistages of the Aryan culture into their own, inconsistencies and confusion arose. I suspect , for instance, the introduction of the judgment day and of course, Heaven and Hell, Angelology into the Semeric culture, ARE from this Era. In order to understand this, a wider lens encompassing the neighboring Elamite culture, an Indu European civilization, is an absolute must. Cheers.

Its an allegory for the decline of the sumerian civilization. The art of cuneiform was lost as fewer and fewer were sent to schools to learn it. Eventually the schools closed and the language that held the region together was forgotten. The tower of babel is based on a tower that actually existed. Etemenaki was a ziggurat dedicated to Marduk in Babylon. The biblical account is not historical in any sense. It is hebrew allegory through the filter of their cultural biases.

Also, the “Mi-“ part is an interrogative pronoun, NOT a relative pronoun - in other words, the name means “Who is like God?”: a question, not a statement. Used in Christianity, its Greco-Roman association with female sexuality, Myrtle came to be an emblematic symbol of the purity of the Virgin Mary. Look up the Hebrew word for Echo, which is 'hed' (head), associated with Bat-Kol, as you might know is "Voice of God", but is "Daughters Voice", as Bat means 'Daughter' and Kol means Voice, in Irish, macalla means echo, mac means 'Son', alla means Shout, macalla means "Son of the Cliff", play them words in reverse (Irish Culu), "Bat-Kol Macalla" in reverse "All Welcome, All Come". Can you hear words when played in reverse? Play "Magic Rhythm" in reverse, you hear it echo "Mother Wisdom".

    A beginning of the explanatiom:
I suspect the "Flood" did NOT "leave only eight humans standing". It's pretty clear the Chinese and the Indians had a big jump on the rest of the world's population. The Flood brought Earth's oceans, but not to their present levels. Similarly, the Tower of Babel incident was somewhat localized, a massive earthquake synchronous with India slamming into Asia, raising the Himalayas (at least partly), squirting the inland sea that had separated the two, some easterly, across the Gobi Desert, to pour out across southern China, northern Thailand, Laos and VietNam, the rest westerly, through the Bosporus and Dardanelles, to pour across the Greek archipelago, digging out the deepest parts of the Mediterranean. The displacement also ejected the Proto-Indo-Europeans, who spread north, east, southerly, and west, God "making everyone speak a different language" may be a way of saying there were suddenly vast numbers of refugees, fleeing the region easterly of Babylon, because of the uplifting masses.
Believing these actions, flood and mountain orogeny, were caused by "impiety" is similar to other pagan beliefs. It is the reaction of people without a scientific vocabulary, or an understanding of elemental forces, to actions caused by mechanical forces common to the Solar System in general, and the Universe at large. It may well have not been the second such event, but something connected to whatever shut off the very ancient past. DNA researchers claim all women alive today are related to a common female ancestor who lived 100-200 thousand years ago. That is 4,000 to 8,000 generations. The Adam and Eve story might be a remnant trace of a long-ago event, from before whatever shut the world down about 6,000 years ago.
There are traces of evidence that the Chinese empire existed as far back as 10,000 years ago. The Sumerian Empire could go back some of that time, too. The ancient Egyptians who built the Great Pyramids, and the Sphinx, as well as the Vedic Sanskrit Indians, also, could date back into the "dark ages" before. We don't know much about these possibilities, except the tantalizing traces that seem to indicate a different story than religion gives us. Suddenly, sometime around 2000BC, the PIE people,. often called the Scythians, emerge onto the stage. Some went east, some northeast, crossing the Bering Strait "land bridge", into Alaska, and down into the Americas. Most went west, and northwest, with a few venturing southwest, eventually populating much of Europe, the Mediterranean, and Russia.
The Tower of Babel event was unforgettable. The aftermath would have been chaotic, with new people arriving from the east, into the known world. Along with the mass of India, the map seems to indicate the Arabian Peninsula came, at least partly, with it. The final welding of Arabia with Turkey, along the northenmost extension of the Great Rift, probably happened at the time of Exodus, some 600 years later. The stories that come down to us are the voices of survivors, passing on their perceptions of the destruction and consequences. Uneducated, in modern terms, unscientific, anecdotal in every sense of the word, the stories make belief difficult, but there is a kernal of truth in them. Something titanic happened, more recently than geologists like to say, but indisputable. We have the "records" of witnesses and survivors, confusing as they are.
The ancient past is more chaotic, harder to understand, and baffling than mere time would account for, with seemingly conflicting stories, a record in stones and bones that flies in the face of dogma, and intriguing conundrums that confound accepted theories. The further back one goes, from the end of the 8th Century BC, the harder it is to pin down characters, well-known and celebrated, with contemporaneous characters. The Books of the Bible reference destruction and events that beggar description. Prophets emerge with doom and gloom forecasts, warning of fire and brimstone, again and again. For 1,750 years, Earth was threatened from without, by a body nearly as large, moving at comparable speed, raising mountains, and depositing vast amounts of water on the planet. This is when Earth got its oceans.
The story gets better, from here ...

Dude I get where you're coming from, but the Himalayas were formed around 40-50 million years ago. Australopithecus is the oldest known hominid, and is from around 4.4 million years ago. There is no way that even proto humans were around for the collision of India with the continent.

    • @TheAnarchitek
      @TheAnarchitek 11 месяцев назад

@@Brynnthebookworm According to conventional wisdom, you are correct. The problem with "conventional wisdom" is that it's often, if not always, wrong. There might have been "mountains", like the Appalachians, but their current heights were came later. The Cordillera is a near-straight line for 8,000 miles. The story in Joshua makes a case for its uplift, and the Tower of Babel suggests a massive earthquake, the likes of which would have driven Richter straight round the bend! Whaddya get, in a "natural disaster"? Lotta refugees, that's what. Most of whom, then, probably would have spoken different languages.
Humans, as homo sapiens, are not decisively connected to the hominids of archaic Africa. Something happened, several times, along the way. We homo sapiens are 300,000 years old, but something in our distant past reduced the population to purest survival terms, limiting the number of "survivors" of our species, to one woman, and any number of men.
All women alive today share a common female ancestor who lived 100-200,000 years ago. Even that long is too long for humans to grasp, but something happened again, about 6,000 years ago (or as much as a thousand years sooner), when the Old Testament/Tanakh storyline emerges. I suggest something of the sort happened in the living memory of men!
My points were not about early man, but the Flood story and the events that happened after, that shaped our world, despite much of the story being put beyond the pale, in "myths", "legends" and "Bible stories". Things that may have happened to our very ancient ancestors. Things we have no idea about, because they left no written record or other memento for us to find., other than a few, illusive and tantalizing clues.
One last shot. Who decided "everythinng" had to happen "millions of years ago"? The Earth's "reducing atmosphere" would make Earth of 10,000 years ago unrecognizable to humans, all landmarks missing. Earth of 100,000 years ago, the last third of the span of homo sapiens, would look so different as to be alien to modern observers. Without catastrophism, without any of the downstream results of that, Earth would be unimaginably different. Tectonics do not explain mountain-building, on the scale of the Himalayas, Alps, Andes, Sierras, or Rockies. Something needed to give a push, to the plates, to cause them to roll up thousands of miles of landscape in jutting mountain ranges.
Add to that, the population problem. There aren't enough people on the planet, even as huge as our population is, today, to account for 100,000 years of human reproduction, without large-scale wars, diseases, and, yes, catastrophes. In Genesis, Noah is told that God wants to destroy his creations, as He has before (begging the question, "Which God?", since Jews were not monotheistic, until the 12th Century BC), and will probably again. The ancient Vedic Sanskrit Indians have similar stories, taking a grimmer look at the problem, by asserting there have been "great ages" before, and will be again. The religionist weirdos on the political right are convinced they can spark the "rapture", to bring about the return of Jesus, by the same misconstured interpretations of what happened in the very ancient past.
If one starts, just 5,783 years ago, as the Jewish Calendar asserts, with a 1% birth rate (the planet is running at 1% now, it has been as high as 3%), there should be some 17.6 septillion people on the planet today. That's 10,000 times as many humans as live now! Cut the birthrate to 0.5%, the number is smaller, but still too big: 16,799,839,870,466, twice as large as the modern number. In fact, there have been long stretches, where women had ten to fifteen children, and men often remarried, when one wife died, and started a new family. John Tyler, 12th President of the US, had a child by his second wife, at age 68. If one pushes the start time back, into the hoary past, 100,000 years ago, the number should be off the charts.
Population numbers reveal the extent of the destruction. In Isaiah 36:37, Sennacherib's army is destroyed at the gates of Jerusalem, one hundred and fourscore, five thousand, or 185,000, dead. Large numbers perished, because there were large numbers, because the one thing humans do too well is procreate. Thus, God could "destroy" the world, but survivors would build it back, and they did, time after time. What happened before 6,000 years ago might as well have happened on another world, for all we know about it. We "know" (or should, except for "education" and religion) about mankind's history concerns our time, what could laughingly be called the "modern era", the world of the past irrevocably changed and gone forever. We've been led down the garden path, told a mishmash of truths and falsehoods, covering up an essential part of our story.

I appreciate all the hard work You put into Your videos and the depth of research presented. I always seem to enjoy watching Your videos. Even if I may find that I don't necessarily agree with everything (I do believe the earth is flat), there are always nuggets of info that enlighten my understanding that precipitates even more introspection and inquiry. I was just talking to someone yesterday at work about this topic. You have touched on it specifically in a large way, but the one area that I am still left pondering is what has become of the gods of the nations... I think that is really awesome to see what you pointed out that it says in Psalms 82, but does that mean all the gods have been at battle and have fallen and Yahweh is the only one left? Yahweh is the god of Israel, and I am not an Israelite or Hebrew / Jew.... So to me, He is not My god... is there a way to learn of any other Gods that actually preside over other nations today? Is there a God of America that would be opposed to YHWH? Or am I to understand at the end, the table of Gods could have just been a concocted story to correlate with the nations known at the time of those that were transcribing texts of the day? If I have overlooked a good video that would speak to this matter and give more insight on the topic of nation gods of today please let me know which one it is. Thanks again for all Your Hard Work.

There is nothing surprising or wrong about Bible writers borrowing ideas from Babylonians. After all Abraham was a Mesopotamian from Ur Kaśdim himself according to them. Besides, the Europeans have been borrowing ideas from ancient Greeks for well over two millennia. It's OK to borrow. It's all literature, you know.

Babylon, of the bible, has no connection whatsoever to any place on planet earth. Babylon is simply another word for the winter season where the "gate" is the winter solstice. All 12 signs have their gates. It is at the winter solstice that we find shinar aka boy sun. The plains of Shinar is nothing more than the winter season (iron). Spring = Gold and Summer = Silver.

I totally agree it's not only ok for them to borrow, it would be unrealistic if they didn't borrow. The point about borrowing, boils down to the fact that many of the claims by Christians or others is that their book is THE TRUTH and others are wrong. They typically try to act like this divine revelation came directly from their God instead of noticing these are all human developments much earlier than their books claims.

@@MythVisionPodcast Catholics do not believe in the Bible being the "word of God." Inspired, yes, perhaps, but ultimately written and compiled by numerous writers over a millennium or more, and not canonized, neither by Jews nor by Christians, until centuries later. Catholics have no problem with in-depth textual analysis of the Bible, connections to Mesopotamian and Egyptian cultures, multiple regional deities from which Yahweh emerged eventually, even then not fully accepted by Jews themselves, not until the Maccabeans. It's all a part of history that in the end leads to most enjoyable videos by MythVision.

Shinar is two words of boy and sun, Shinar is born on Dec 25. The tower is January, February, and March. Babel (gate of god/sun) is the spring equinox where we find Beth El (house of god/house of the sun). This is Aries the first constellation of the sacred year (above equinoctial line). The writers mixed the age of the bull with the age of the ram.

Moses/Ganymede is still alive and we have a precise location of his body.
Having thus looked upon the Promised Land (summer), Moses died, and buried himself in a valley in the land of Moab (water-father = Aquarius = Moses), "but no man knoweth of his sepulcher unto this day" (Deut. 34.6). Although one hundred and twenty years old, (12 months) "his eyes," it is said, " were not dim (his stars shine as brightly now as they did then), nor his natural force abated (the rainy season still comes on every year) " However, the people wept thirty days, i.e., during the passage of the Sun through Aquarius, the Wash-pot (Ps 60.8), or the rainy month of January.

The people built the tower of Babel to build a shem for themselves. shem is not hebrew yet always mistranslated as the hebrew for 'name'. But shem is actually Sumerian origin, it is the word for the glyph of an upside down half circle, or meaning the opposite of boat/ark. the sky gods flew in shems. The tower was not a tower at all. The people speaking in one voice said let us build a shem for ourselves so we can reach the heavens. So the gods said, 'Let us go confuse the languages before man can reach the heavens and be like us and there wil be nothing they can not achieve.'
