I have a Greg Kihn story...I used to live in the Bay Area, I was at a TGIF’s (restaurant) with my friends. Greg Kihn and Eddie Money came in and sat at the table next to us. They were really nice and talked to everyone who approached them. My friends and I were too chicken to but we could hear all their conversations with the other guests ☺️

That's a great story, if even one of them Greg or Eddie Money had asked for salt, pepper or Ketchup from my table I probably would have been courageous enough to maybe speak to him at that point unless I couldn't place them like when I had met the Duchess of York and didn't put it together fast enough.
used to listen to greg's morning drive radio show on KFOX ever since he started. and even when he brought his son, ry, in sometimes.
Brings back memories when Mtv actually played music videos...lol

Haven't even started listening yet. I'm at 0:07. I clicked in immediately, cuz this is one of my favorite songs of all time. I covered this during one of my solo album release parties back in the mid-2000s. ;-)
Also, the "uh uh uh"s were just a place holder Kihn was using during early rehearsal, until he came up with the rest of the lyrics...the band told him to keep it as is.

You actually are interested in the suggestions of your patron members. You encourage a dialog about music. Like yes your checking out the famous songs , yet you listen aswell to other suggested songs that may have not as famous yet a song that has that has meat on the bones. . Your not just counting the beats of a song and saying " Oh woe how cool is that" You break what you hear down. You can isolate in your mind by listening different instruments, you can tell if its a 2,3, or 4 part harmony. Octaves. You point out dynamics of a note being played whether instrument or voice. I do to. I hear it then you stop and say did you hear that? Express what you heard and I'm like damn! I hear it to! My apologies for going long. I just wanted you to know. I heard this on the radio (shout out to CHRW) 2 years ago and was like "How have I never heard this?" Instantly went on my playlist.
This was the first song I sang in front of people in 6th grade. My uncle needed a fill in drummer because theirs was sick and they were playing the church festival at the school I went to. I remember asking why there was a mic, oh you have to sing a few.

The Greg Kihn band from the Bay Area. Joe Striani was a guitarist for a short period. Greg Kihn went on to be a local DJ for KFOX for 16 years.

@LFR family host: I really don't think you understood the first line of the song as it was being sung. The first line of the song is "We had just broken up an hour before" uh a ah ah ah ah ah etc. That's the only reason for the name of the song is the very first line, I believe. Other than that it is a too upbeat song to really be what it's name suggests. I think it may have been intended to be a darker melody at one time, perhaps... Glad it makes you happy inside. It always did that for me too.

Def a different version than the single. It sounds different (can’t put my finger on it) and is longer with that extended instrumental outro. I like it though.

Not that there’s anything wrong with it but can anyone tell why there’s an epidemic of black people doing reaction videos to white music? Is it because you finally got tired of rap and realized there was no true diversity of musical style like there is in white music or are they doing it because they know it gets mega views?
