For Gen-Xers who grew up in the SF Bay Area, this song is never very far away. Greg Kihn was part of that group of Bay Area rockers who ruled over much of the '80s. Hometown guy. Became a local DJ after he more or less retired from the music biz.
Greg had a great radio program!!
I spent my teens living in Trinidad in the 80s and this was a popular party song there too. Still have this track on several playlists on my phone.
I was a teen in the Bay Area in the 70s.... what a great place and time to be a teen... Day on the Greens... all the great clubs to go to as one grew into adulthood...
Kansas City ky102 radio and ZZ 99 stations played this every hour or two when it first came out 😂Great music and great DJ’s
Kihn, Tommy Tutone, Night Ranger, The Kinks, Romeo Void, all 80s "one hit wonders" that had a very significant presence in the SF Bay Area, although Kihn ( Jeopardy), the Kinks, and Romeo Void had a few more hits.

I saw The Greg Kihn band in 1982, in Seattle at the Trojan on 5th. He came on stage, and said he was a bit drunk. Put on a great show. Good times.

I saw Greg Kihn at the Warfield Theater in San Francisco around 1981. DAS BLOK and Jo Allen and The Shapes were the opening acts.

They really “don’t write them like that anymore!” This song had so much positive significance in my past, I just love it! Being 25 y/o, in Daytona Beach, coupled with awesome, music like this was magical!
Fantastic as always, but I especially want to call out the mix--the mix is spot on and the mastering is perfect. You've got the sparkle of the guitars, the lush vocals are laying on top just right, and the overall balance is just perfect. Love the Gretsches + the Tele. Couldn't have been done better.

Grew up in the SF Bay Area. GKB was a local fav before they broke on MTV. Cool guy(s), saw him @ a local CC (Ohlone College) cafeteria in 81', next thing he was opening for the Rolling Stones @ Candlestick Park, then home of the 49'ers & Giants. Great performance as always guys, Home Run. Brings back memories as I left home after HS Graduation for the Navy. ✌️🎶
