Rest in Peace Greg, I was 24 when this song came out, feels like yesterday😞
I was 18 ! Remember it well RIP Greg
I was a dinosaur in Mexico right before the asteroid hit when this song came out, feels like 75 million years ago.
I was 21 in 1981 playing in a band when the song came out' we bought the single 45 and practiced all evening up until 1am to get it down' played it at the club Friday night and ended up having to play it at least a half dozen times that night. Most request song for months back then. Wish I could go back to the 80's' best years for music.
I was 20. You are so right on all!!!
70s were no slouch either
I was 21 also

Oh if I could only go back then and know what I know today.... life would have turned out much better. I guess we can all say that relating to certain situations.... those were the best of times for sure.
Hope you and everyone else got to live life from that time on filled with good memories as back then.
I saw kihn band with 20/20 at the pikes peak center colorado springs co . Early 80s they were like new wave. Good show i still have the tour shirt in perfect shape.
I sat next to Greg in college in Baltimore. Very cool dude. He played some coffee houses around Baltimore City where I saw him. It was just Greg, an acoustic guitar and a harmonica.
He said he was heading off to California to start a band and guess what? He did!
He said you would look over at his papers and was always asking him for the answers , He said you would literally aggravate the crap outta him , So he decided to move to get away from you and started a band, So the moral of the story is
If it hadn't been for you he would not have been successful in the music industry.
So thank you we have the opportunity to listen to his music.
Oh wow 😍 what great anecdote ! Lucky you
Oh wow! What great anecdote! Lucky you
Que gran suerte la tuya!.....
❤️How cool was that as you sipped coffee. ☕👍
RIP Greg, thank you for all your music that left an indelible mark on our lives. You'll be missed 😪

I’m actually with Greg right now . ❤ that’s so cool I’m just now finding out he was a star and he still. Is.
I was sad to read that Greg had passed. Rest in Peace man.
Greg is still around and performing live AND with his son in the band!
RIP
All of his hits and so many of his B-sides are just PopRock Perfection. Rest in Power, Mr. Kihn
This song was borrowed in a TV commercial in the Philippines way back when I was in college during the 80’s. It’s about an orange product and that part in this song that says uh uh uh uh uh uh the commercial goes….uh uh orange uh uh uh uh uh. I remember this so vividly coz the talent that sung that song in the commercial was our band’s lead vocalist. A very good friend of mine who passed away during the COVID pandemic. Miss you Bro 😎
The 80s were the greatest
This should have been a #1 hit
America used to be so cool.
Used to. And better than ever.
Your point, sage?
Chip Gaasche It’s a pretty straightforward statement.
@@sageywavey it's a pretty vague statement.
Chip Gaasche Any questions I could answer for you?
Tell Mr. Warhol that Greg Kihn deserves another 15 minutes.
Saw him in the 80's. He was great. RIP Greg
I keep coming back to this song year after year, never gets old! They don't write like anymore!!!! ;)
My first 45 I bought! Love you Greg!! 🪽
Him wearing that army shirt reminds me of basic training in 1981 when this came out,We got a pass to go off base and I heard this song for the first time, awesome.
Thank you for sharing this with the world
Rest in peace, Greg Khin.
Thanks for the music!
My sister and I used to see him way back in the 70s at the various colleges. Wow 1981 I was 6 and remember this was the very 1st song I rocked out too !
Good old days ❤
Escuché esta canción una vez y ahora no puedo parar de escucharla .Rock 'and Roll is love .
Greg looks like Han Solo.
eternal, everybody relates to this masterpiece
1981…the year I graduated, great song!!
Just a young punk! LOL! 🤣
Me too, was in navy boot camp a few days later
And we had broken up for good just an hour before
(Uh-uh-uh, uh-uh-uh-uh-uh)
Now I'm staring at the bodies as they're dancin' 'cross the floor
(Uh-uh-uh, uh-uh-uh-uh-uh)
And then the band slowed the tempo and the music gets you down
(Uh-uh-uh, uh-uh-uh-uh-uh)
It was the same old song with a melancholy sound
(Uh-uh-uh, uh-uh-uh-uh-uh)
They don't write 'em like that anymore
They just don't write 'em like that anymore
We'd been living together for a million years
(Uh-uh-uh, uh-uh-uh-uh-uh)
But now it feels so strange out in the atmospheres
(Uh-uh-uh, uh-uh-uh-uh-uh)
And then the jukebox plays a song I used to know
(Uh-uh-uh, uh-uh-uh-uh-uh)
And now I'm staring at the bodies as they're dancin' so slow
(Uh-uh-uh, uh-uh-uh-uh-uh)
They don't write 'em like that anymore
They don't write 'em like that anymore
Now I wind up staring at an empty glass
(Uh-uh-uh, uh-uh-uh-uh-uh)
'Cause it's so easy to say that you'll forget your past
(Uh-uh-uh, uh-uh-uh-uh-uh)
They don't write 'em like that anymore
No
They just don't write 'em like that anymore
They don't write 'em like that anymore
They just don't write 'em like that anymore
They just don't, no, they don't
No, no, uh-uh
They just don't write 'em like that anymore
They just don't
The crowd clapping sucks!
Deney Terrio and disco dancers....and this tune. The irony is jaw dropping.
I love it! Makes me unconsciously speed when driving, lol. They sure don't write like that anymore...
Rest in peace Greg
Greg looks like the love child of Dana Carvey and Jack Tripper!
Hmmm. reminds me of Tom Petty. Same era... ok.
Sad to hear of his death, tho.
He's now on my radar.
Michael De Santa's movie - Meltdown's end credits from GTA V
BECAUSE THEY DON'T WRITE LIKE THIS ANYMORE
*they all danced.*

RIP 🪦 Greg Khin
A.I. couldn't write a song like this. It isn't smart enough to come up with oh uh uh oh oh OOHHH
Damn! Dude was a specialist in the Army. Spec 4 insignia.
RIP Greg. My condolences
In those days they used playback... Many bands.... And it wasn't the best.
Kihn was too good for this Dance Fever junk. True Rock legend.....

Gregg Kihn looks like Tom Wopat and Simon McCorkindale crossover rofl
I love song, I crank it up every time I hear it❤
Great early 80s band.
2:05-when I was young, and when I heard this part of the song, I thought he said, "bitches don't write them like that anymore".
I hear it....hahaha
😁😂🤣love it!
I met him many times. He will be missed. His son can wail on that guitar!
Lip syncing was always a thing I suppose…😢
It’s hard to find a real live performance on a TV show.
Nowadays it’s hard to find a live performance anywhere
I NEVER KNEW WHO
GREG KIHN WAS
BUT I SURE KNOW HIS AMAZING SONGS 🎼 🎸
La guitarra eléctrica que utiliza Greg es un modelo de Vox
Thank You, Mr. Kihn...
Shame that it’s lip synced.
Caught that too
And everyone Dances to that song !!!
Rest In Peace Steve Irwin
Since OP doesn't inform us, I thought I would. This clip is from an episode of a TV show called "Dance Fever" hosted by Deney Terrio.

'Let Me In" brought me here; triggered long lost memories-LOVE IT!!
I'm losing more and more artists that occupy my playlist of my life with each passing day. It's very sobering.

We'd been living together for a million years

Now I'm staring at the bodies as they dancin' so slow
Uh uh uh, uh uh uh uh uh

Saw him play this song at King County Stadium on October 15, 1981.

For some reason Greg looks different at 70 ?, then in 1981 ?
