I'm a retired airline captain. Several years ago I had KC on a flight and encountered him in the first class galley. I told him that his songs were the background music of my late teens in the 70s. He was good natured, smiled, and said "you don't know how many times i've heard that", and then thanked me for the compliment. He was proud to tell me how the band was still performing numerous concerts annually. Really a nice, friendly, polite man.
Yes we are. I love KC but why is he almost unrecognisable? BJ Thomas looked like BJ Thomas when he died, the Moody Blues still look like the Moody Blues etc, but KC doesn't look like him. Neither does Tony Orlando, I think it maybe weight z no judgement just pondering
I saw him in Charlestown, WV, in December. His music was a big part of my teen years . When he sang this song , it choked me up. It was like he was saying his final goodbye. Like you stated, "It sucks getting old."
Wonder how many people out there fr the 70's relate to this majestic song. Seeing their loved one leave out that door !! Knowing PLEASE DON'T GO Word for word. Words that totally fit to that sad memory. Take me back to the best era .. PLEASE
I love please don't go. It's one of my favorite songs of my entire life. KC doesn't need to put on a wig to sing, he looks ridiculous. We love his music even though physically he has changed. Greetings from Chile.
Well, this made me cry. I watched my boyfriend walk down a pier to swim with my brother and friends. I can still see him turning around to look at me. This was in 1982. He drowned that day. My life was forever changed. I miss him deep within my heart. This song will always make me think of him. Anyway, I am thankful for the song as I would give anything for him to have not turned to walk away. Hence the words, " please don't go" rings so so true to me.
Kc you have alot of miles on you but your show is still first class great disco songs i dont care what anybody says to bad the music of today cant have meaning like yours did you should be very proud of your lifes work.

Saw him in concert a couple years ago…he joked about his weight himself with a “KFC & The Sunshine Band” comment. His shows are very energetic and I hope he & the band keep going as long as possible.
This gorgeous man epitomises the 1970's disco scene. Such respect for you KC. Your unbelievably catchy songs and longevity of them just proves how successful you and your songs were and still are. ❤ Beautiful!

August, 2022: I sang this song, every pre-dawn hour, to a scraggly, feral 3-mo.-old-looking kitten, after he'd eaten my nightly buffet of kitten milk, H2O, cat kibble, and tuna.😊 He'd drop-by each eve at 8:30p.m., eat in-full (like, e v e r y t h i n g! 😅) then, nap, and hang-out (I gave him balls 😅) on my backyard sidewalk (near the plates) however, take off down the driveway, by pre-dawn 😔: This song came to mind, and he'd stop every few feet to look back at me, while I sang (but kept walking away 😄). My 94-yr.-old neighbor didn't mind my singing.😂 From Aug. 14 through Labor Day, this was the same routine, and outcome. I inched the plates closer to, and finally inside the back hall, the Labor Day weekend. 😃😊 He's healthy, very happy. We're angels, to each other. 💞 THANK YOU FOR UPLOADING THIS NEWEST LIVE, OF K.C.❣️❤️⚘️ So up-close/personal. A beautiful moment-in-time!
We just saw these guys in Asheville, NC at The Salvage Station last night, (5/24/25, Memorial Day weekend). This wasn't your ordinary concert; it was a Vegas show!... They were very entertaining, and awesome dance music!
I caught KC at the Illinois State Fair in maybe 1983. Just bought a ticket at the door (no "app" required!), grabbed a large Natural Light draft, and wandered up to the "standing" section right in front of the stage. They opened with "Sound Your Funky Horn." I was stunned by how good they were! Boundless energy!
Down on his knees, begging me please.....and I left to join the military. He was murdered before my return. Forever a part of my heart, Derrick M Hooper.
He did fantastic! It's difficult to be able to sing as you used to, but I'm impressed by his breath control. I'd be out of breath and my voice cracking! 😂
For some reason this song is my favorite song of his. I'm only 59 but I was young enough to appreciate Disco. But this song I say again he's stuck with me throughout the years. I don't know maybe it's just me
Saudades daqueles tempos de KC & THE SUNSHINE BAND; DURAN DURAN; DEPECHE MODE; TEARS FOR FEARS; DONNA SUMER; JOURNEY; ABBA; U2. Esses eram todos daquela Bela Época!
I saw him and the Sunshine Band along with the Village People in December 2013. He had put on alot of weight, but now he is unrecognizable. His voice is still ok, though.

Still better than the synthetic garbage on the radio today.😮
ABSOLUTELY 💯
Darn right!
I couldn't agree more we had proper music back in the day!
I can agree with that
Yes, I can't believe some top artists make their music in their bedroom on a computer.
Where has our youth gone? Where did the time go?
I wish I knew, but we are still here and we have got to make each and every day count as they become more precious. we are still young at heart.

gone in a flash.
Dont sweat it, memories are all you have,so either recreate it or move on.
Gone where everybody else’s youth has gone and so will yours.

I give him credit. He’s singing live. Great band too
I miss, the 70s and 80s. The music was real. Nothing was auto-tuned. I love, KC.
Man I remember putting the cassette in and pulling up to the parking lot jamming to this. They don’t make music like this anymore. Thx KC!
Yep music today, if they call it that, is no good.
Best disco band of all time. Mine & my husbands song from that day to this. 42 years married ❤

Yeah, he may have put on some pounds (just like the rest of us) but he's still got it.

I love you
Yeah
Babe, I love you so
I want you to know
That I'm gonna miss your love
The minute you walk out that door
So please don't go
Don't go
Don't go away
Please don't go
Don't go
I'm begging you to stay
If you leave, at least in my lifetime
I've had one dream come true
I was blessed to be loved
By someone as wonderful as you
So please don't go
Don't go
Don't go away
Please don't go
Don't go
I'm begging you to stay
Hey, hey, hey
Yeah

That I'm gonna miss your love
The minute you walk out that door
So please don't go
Don't go
Don't go away
Hey, hey, hey
I need your love
I'm down on my knees
Beggin' please, please, please
Don't go
Don't you hear me, baby?
Don't leave me now

Their best slow beautiful love type song, KC put out some kick ass disco back in those 70s
August, 2022:
I sang this song, every pre-dawn hour,
to a scraggly, feral 3-mo.-old-looking kitten,

eat in-full (like, e v e r y t h i n g! 😅)
then, nap, and hang-out (I gave him balls 😅) on my backyard sidewalk
