Okay, I admit it - I'm a 66 year old hard rocker, BUT this song was popular when I graduated high school in 1975, and it really took me back! Back when times were awesome!
I remember one night hanging out with my friends in the park and drinking beer than I went to wine. I had to be carried home and mom saying to my friends "what did you do to him"... my dad said "Lucy let me handle this" Thanks mom and Dad we all miss you dearly.
I grew up listening to KC & The Sunshine Band. I'm a rocker, but I've always loved the energy, groves and beats of his music... this takes me back to when things were more simplified... I miss those times too👍❤️🙏
I cannot express how much seeing this performance means to my very soul. I am sobbing tears of joy. Sometimes, I think I'm too old to enjoy certain fun things in life, like afraid if I get down I might never get back up again. But after this, I know we can still, and ALWAYS, do the things we like to do. I don't care if I throw a hip out (again), I'm going to dance my way into the grave! Got them boogie shoes! I ❤ KC!!
OMG, walking down memory lane. I’m 69, growing up mostly listing to Rock music. But, this song is absolutely nostalgic. Back in a days, they were true musicians and songwriters. We have lost that generation for good.
Imagine what KC has accomplished. He started working in the mail room for the record company that would eventually sign him up to put out some of the most infectious, melodic fun music ever. Hey K.C. You go man. Love ya from Texas!
I remember watching KC & the Sunshine Band on The Midnight Special, back in the early 70’s.. KC was one of the biggest stars in the U.S.A. … VERY popular… everyone loved him… you can see why !!!
I F*****G love this man! The best time you will ever have in your life seeing him live. 2 hours, every hit and a few from others nonstop, mo lip sync, pure joy!
I remember having this song on an 8 track tape that came in the mail from K-Tel. I used my allowance when I was 8 years old and finally talked my parents into ordering it for me. It took FOREVER for it to arrive. 😂
Damn Hemi K Tell so long Ago trying to remember some of the songs on a album I sent off for A Wolf man Jack song we'll go around in Circles damn wish I could remember some more 😂
Wowzers!! I was 16 in 1975 when this song was released and I'll be 65 this June. Out of all of the music of the 70s, this song and all of KC's music is the number one soundtrack of my high school days!! The best dance music of that time. My cousin Anika is the dancer in this video with the Mohawk/Twists and she was just born in 74/75 (now that I think about it, she is 50 or almost) - we have good genes because I can still get down too!! It is amazing to see her on this stage and brings tears of joy to my eyes with the flashback of my teen years and her birth. I'm still trying to see the show in person so I can get on that stage with her💃💃💃
I remember listening to them as a child as well! My Mom was always blasting the radio in her car. In our home, she was playing her retro cabinet style stereo with either the record player, 8 track player or radio turned up loud while cleaning house. Lol I miss the good ole days!
Im almost 60, and I still boogie to KC & his Sunshine band! I remember my gal pals and would go dancing on weekends and when KC came on, the whole vibe would take over everyone in the disco!! KC and Donna Summer forever! ❤❤❤
This brings back so many many wonderful memories!! I need to listen to my 70’s music more often. This cheered me up so much! I’ll be 67 on the 30th..I’m going to try and not be so upset about that! Rock on my 60’s and 70’s sisters and brothers! ✌️🤟🔥🎸🎤🎶🎵
Couldn’t tell you what I had for dinner last night…. But I sung EVERY word of these songs.🎶 Good to see you still doin it, KC & The Sunshine Band 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I must have been 9 0r 10 years old and my biggest thrill was joining KC and the Sunshine Band fan club! I got a beautiful white card with their logo on it to carry in my billfold and a poster and I was in heaven. I also go to dance to “That’s the way I like it” for one of my recitals. Florescent orange with hot pink fringe! I can still remember the moves and how we entered the stage to that song. Fantastic memories!
Thanks for sharing! I'm about to hit 60 in a couple of months, and let me tell you, this is kind of exciting..!! I remember this, and all my family still together... Thank You very much!!
I remember the first time I heard this song. I, along with my parents were at a friend's house in 1975. The parents were in the other room drinking and talking. I and the other kids were in the dark living room with just the light of the stereo display, listening to the local pop station. This song came on and I loved it from the first listen (even though I was more of a "rocker" at the time).
I love this! This ol’ gal use to roller skate on the best wooden floor to KC every Friday night! Boogie shoes was great to skate to.. The best music ever! Thanks guys for years of the best!😎☺️
I was in Florida then in the 70 s we loved dancing to KC - he was everywhere and always fantastic!! These songs are great memories ! Thank god for kc , so happy to see he sounds great, my disco 20 s, makes me smile ❤
Don't recognize him today, and we've all put on weight, but like many others here, was a Hard Rocker back then but when AMERICAN TOP 40 with Casey Kasem played KC & the Sunshine Band - WOW - KC was SO COOL, and We All Loved His Music and His Band!! Memories!! Come on KC, shed the Kilo's, You can do it!! We STILL LOVE YOU!!
Tenho 66 anos, moro no Brasil e desde 1975 gosto do KC and the Sunshine Band. Lembro desta época linda da minha juventude. Quando escutei os discos deles, fiquei maravilhado. Grande banda e patrimônio musical mundial.
I went to Disney World's Grad Night in 1980. He was one of the top bands playing. Kc and Sunshine Band,Earth Wind and Fire. I thought Florida Graduating seniors in 1980 were so lucky to have him playing
@barbaravyse660 No, the last one was in 2011.. They cited "cost" for the reason. They take in $100 million a day and cost was the reason. Truth be told, I think I had to go with street gangs going to Grad Night
Man, I saw them in the 70’s on Paradise Island in Nassau Bahamas and it was awesome! To see him still doing this at this level of awesome……. Respect! ✊🏾
Saw them last month, honestly one of the best concerts I've seen! Great performers, band and back up singers are outstanding. KC obviously loved performing, his enthusiasm is infectious to the band & audience. All of us old farts were screaming & dancing like we were 20 years old again! Can't wait until they return to my area.
As you can see by my initials I took a lot of Disco beatings in JH, but this was always the 1st song on the jukebox in cafeteria at lunch and watching the chola's dancing was quite hot 💃🔥

55 yo. Hard Rock & Metal but grew up with this and still like it 🍻😎
Disco never sucked. That disco sucks record burning thing was a mental illness. Today's "dance music" has no soul or humanity to it.

My God where did the time go. we were all young once!
We were all young, wild and staying up very late once upon a time..lol. A great song with a great past! 🎶🙏

Why is KC and Sunshine Band not in Music Hall of Fame yet is beyond comprehension. C’mon! Let’s get this legend into HOF already. They deserve it!
He puts on quite a show I've been to a few in the past, his horn section is amazing, Love KC and the Sunshine Band 💝😍🎉🎉🎉
I agree KC has left a Mark in Music History for sure. He deserves to be in the HOF
