    The least expensive option to go from EWR to Manhattan would be to take the NJ Transit's 62 bus to Newark Penn Station (Not Elizabeth) which is USD 1.60 and then take the PATH train from Newark Penn for about USD 2.50. This may not be the best option for people who are coming for the first time to the US or who are coming in with several pieces of luggage. If saving is your main concern, this is your best option.

      @@olgapredger5488 Ultimately it depends on how experienced the traveller may be. Downtown Newark is not the nicest or safest of places (neither are several places in NYC itself or the US for that matter) so it could be the opposite of what people may expect when coming for the first time, especially if you are going from EWR to the city at night.

      @@olgapredger5488 make sure to ask the driver if it's going to Newark Penn (not Elizabeth) cause the sign isn't always right... it's right by the go bus sign in all of the terminals on the second lane in ground transportation and you can look for airport employees who are usually waiting around for that bus. If it's your first time traveling to the US I would avoid this route late at night, keep your head down if you do. And you need either exact change or the NJ transit app for your bus ticket... don't hold everyone up!!

      They don’t allow luggage bigger that 22 x 16 x 8 inches on the 62 and 67 buses. Smaller than most suitcases. They also only take the exact amount of $1.60 in cash or a ticket bought on the NJ Transit App. No return cash given. So I’m opting for the Airtrain - NJ Transit train to Newark Penn station and the PATH from there to The World Trade center in lower Manhatten where I will be staying.

      @@deborahraaen3059 some of them have luggage racks and honestly, even if they don't have them, most people will still be able to bring them on the bus. I ride the bus to the airport frequently and see this quite often.

    Great video as always! I love this channel so much! I found out about your company from a popular RUclipsr who does tours of New York, Sarah funk is her name. Also another con worthy of mentioning with the Subway and shuttle options, is that if you’re traveling with big kids or other people that you’re responsible for, paying their way into the city can get very costly, as it’s $15 per person, with everyone having their own luggage that is definitely a con, So it will come out better and easier, more convenient to take a ride share car. Another issue we ran into was with the taxi is they only hold up to three people, maybe squeeze four but if there’s four or more or in your party they possibly won’t take you.

    I've used the train a couple of times before but its been awhile and I watched this video to refresh my memory BUT I what to point out something I found confusing the first time I did it that was glossed over in this video . That is there are TWO PENN STATIONS on this route . One in Newark and the second and last stop is Penn ( Pennsylvania ) Station in Manhattan . I think this can be confusing for travelers not familiar with the NYC area .

    Excellent video!!! Thank you for sharing. I am arriving on Dec 15th at the Newark airport, and staying at 77 Hudson street, New Jersey close by the exchange "PATH" station.
    Can I take a train to get me there there from the airport?

    Thanks for the great info. Have watched various clips that Free tours by Foot have produced regarding New York and booked one and am looking at others. Quick question when you purchase your fare at Newark airport on the New Jersey air train and get off at Newark Penn stn to connect to the Path train to go to the World Trade center Hub, do you need to purchase a separate ticket for the Path train or is the ticket purchased initially good for both trains??

  • @deborahraaen3059
    @deborahraaen3059 9 месяцев назад

    So am I right in saying that if I want to use the PATH to get to downtown Manhatten, I must get a ticket to Newark Penn station before boarding the airtrain. Use this same ticket to exit the airtrain and get the NJ train one stop to the PATH. Then buy a separate ticket to One World before boarding the PATH?

    what about Uber ? where to board one ?

    • @DanteLegacyGaming
      @DanteLegacyGaming Год назад +1

      I went to NY last August, you can find Uber there easily, as soon you come out the airport check your Uber app, it literally took like 5 minutes to get one.
      We were staying in the Millennium hotel, very close to Time Square, and we payed $70 dollars for that trip from the airport.
      I am actually going back on December 15th, but staying in Hudson street new jersey side, this time I'll try the train, a bit cheaper.

    Good info. But every time you kept saying Newark it would have been good to flash the word Newark on the screen. Every time you said New York, flash the word New York or better yet use the complete words “New York City” So there are three areas that have similar sounds: Newark, New York City, New York State. For some one who is NOT familiar with the differences, it sounds like you are saying “New York” for all three areas. To reduce confusion, I always use the complete words, “New York City” to refer to NYC. People upstate would like to remind NYC that they are part of New York also. 🤷🏽‍♂️
