  • so you arrived into Newark International Airport and you're asking yourself what's the cheapest way to get to Manhattan. you could take a private car a taxi or Rideshare service. but these options are depending upon traffic delays tolls. could be up to an hour and 20 minutes. in anywhere between $55 and 120. the cheapest option take the AirTrain from Newark Airport to the NJ Rail train station get on the train decide if you want Newark Penn Station or Manhattan Penn Station. if you opt for Newark Penn Station it's going to be 11:25 from the AirTrain to the station. And then 275 from the PATH train to World Trade Center. if you opt for the Manhattan Penn Station it's going to be about $19 but you don't have to
    change trains after you get on the NJ Rail train.
    please forgive the cinematography of my videos I am actually legally blind I only see about 6 ft in front of me and I do these videos based on the informational knowledge I have gained a do not actually see what I'm filming until after I do editing.

    This video was great, exactly what i was looking for. Going solo to brooklyn cruise port from newark airport. Im 66 and live in a small town in ontario and we dont have any trains. From the wtc i plan to walk 20 min to pier 11 wall st and take the ferry to red hook where cruise port is. Again, thank you, your video was very helpful

    Im pretty sure it is cheaper to take a bus to Newark Penn then take the path. If you are planning on using the NYC subway or you want to already have the card for your return trip you should just get a metro card it is accepted by both also to my knowledge track H is usually for arrivals only.
    If you ever do a video for JFK the air train is not the cheapest way the subway/bus is.

      Thank you for sharing the information. We are going to NYC from EWR next week. Our plan arrives around 9am so I agree cheapest way is to take bus and then PATH and NYC subway. My concern is when we go back, our flight is 5am on Saturday. Not sure if we can do the same. Any idea?

    Thank you oh so much!!! I’m traveling tomorrow arriving on Wednesday and this is the path. I’m going to chose to go to lower Manhattan. I was a little confused when you change the air train in Newark airport. You mentioned something about get out in B4 or something and then get another AirTrain towards New Jersey rail train station right ?

    • @Findingyourwaytravel
      @Findingyourwaytravel  Год назад +1

      Yeah when you're at the Newark Airport and you get on the air tram you have to leave the air tram at the bee for parking deck area and change on the same platform to the other train there will be an attendant there and you tell them you're going to the New Jersey Rail station they will help guide you there everyone has to get off at the airport AirTrain at the parking garage and change over to the other air tram going to the New Jersey rail system. You can either by your air tram New Jersey real ticket at the airport before you get on the air tram or once you get to the New Jersey rail station you can buy your ticket to believe the air tram system. And then you will find your way by looking at the marquee signs to get to the New Jersey real PATH train that will take you into Lower Manhattan you want to go to World Trade Center train you can either buy your ticket from a machine or buy your ticket from the ticketing agent in the lobby and they can also give you directions

    • @Findingyourwaytravel
      @Findingyourwaytravel  Год назад +1

      Also check out the reverse direction from World Trade Center to Newark Airport that might give you a better understanding when you switch chains at Newark Penn Station and you switch trains at the airport parking garage

    Hi, and thank you for your video. If we are a family of 2 adults and 2 kids, does it make sense to take train/bus to midtown or is a Uber better?

    • @Findingyourwaytravel
      @Findingyourwaytravel  Год назад +1

      So from Newark Airport for the two adults $ $38 for the two adults I don't know how old your children are but if they're over the age of I think six then they're considered full fair rides so that would be a total for four people $76

    • @Findingyourwaytravel
      @Findingyourwaytravel  Год назад +1

      I would say Uber because you don't have to make change of trains to the AirTrain to the NJ transit system and then take the hour-long ride to Midtown carrying your bags and worried about two children Uber May cost you a little bit more than the $76 price for 4 but it's going to be easier transition with luggage and kids to take an Uber or Lyft

    • @Findingyourwaytravel
      @Findingyourwaytravel  Год назад +2

      I just did an Uber estimate price adjustment. And on their webpage for an uberX it's 70 $76 to Midtown for the Uber XL it's like 82 to $92

      @@Findingyourwaytravel, does that price include the toll for the tunnel? The toll can be from $12.75 to $17.00 depending on time of day and whether the driver has EZPass.

    • @Findingyourwaytravel

      You cannot use the express or the unlimited Ride Pass MetroCard on the PATH train. But if your MetroCard has credit or value on it you can use it per ride

    I did this several times between 2002 and 2010 when visiting from England but only as far as Journal Square as I was staying in Jersey City. I wish they would extend PATH to the EWR airport train station so it would be possible to transfer directly from Airtrain To PATH.

    • @darbas57
      @darbas57 9 месяцев назад

      You can take AirTran to newark and then take path train to Manhattan, downtown. If you are going to/from midtown, then you change at journal square. This is what I use when I use Newark Airport. A little bit longer than nj transit, but much cheaper.

    • @TheLargeoldshoe
      @TheLargeoldshoe 6 месяцев назад +1

      Ideally they should extend the air train to newark penn (it’s a far cheaper proposal than extending path). At the same time they should create an air-train from LGA to Roosevelt in order to avoid traffic jams on the road)

    • @darbas57
      @darbas57 6 месяцев назад

      @TheLargeoldshoe There is a large population between Penn station and the airport that needs mass transit. Many of them don't have cars and many of them work at the airport.

    When you purchased your path train ticket, was there a 1 dollar surcharge? I also saw that when you used the ticket, it didnt return the ticket to you.

    • @Findingyourwaytravel
      @Findingyourwaytravel  Год назад

      So on the path ticket I did not see a $1 surcharge but on the New York City MetroCard which you can also buy to ride the PATH train there is a $1 surcharge for the card. But if you're doing a one way trip with the path card it does not return the ticket to you. Because you do not need it to exit the PATH train

    • @johnsamoilis6379
      @johnsamoilis6379 5 месяцев назад

      You dont need to purchase a ticket to ride PATH any more. They have a tap to pay system with contactless cards called tapp.

      There actually is a video JFK Airport to Newark Airport on RUclips. And then there is videos from Newark Airport to JFK Airport that you can also watch but you just do that in Reverse if public transit is the way you want to go but it looks like it's still going to be two to two-and-a-half hours if you make all your connections on time. So that easiest way would be Uber or Lyft or car service
