*NEW NYC VIDEO NOW LIVE: **ruclips.net/video/74BSdwyWRzU/видео.html* New series!!!! I'm so excited to show you *New York City* , a place I love and have been coming here many times over the years to work or to visit. Let's embark on a new adventure!
I am from India and dream to see New York some day. It's beyond my budget ,so I watch such videos imagining that I am there with you guys. Thank you for making these videos. Also the chemistry between you both is amazing, you both seem to give me Indian couple vibes 🙂
Nice video. I am yellow cab driver in NYC . You can go to Manhattan in 2.75$ via Q10 bus from jfk terminal 4 and free transfer to subway at Union turnpike / kew gardens station where you get E and F train .You need to have money on metro card to get free transfer or if bus driver provides you with paper ticket for transfer. It will take 20 minutes extra but it’s sometimes worth to see the local bus travel and sightseeing which pass by Caribbean neighborhood/ south Asian neighborhood and Jewish neighborhood.
Thank you very much for this information...especially from a cab driver! We may try that on our next visit and cover as an alternative route into Manhattan. We would prefer to see some neighborhoods vs train tracks.👍😍
From someone who suffers from anxiety just watching you both do it is like I’ve already done it for the first time and puts me at ease slightly. Great vid!
It is awesome watching the two of you having fun I grew up on Long Island and traveled the lirr to the city often. Keep smiling and make everyone else around you smile and have a good day. Happiness is contagious
So nice to see you again Renata and Gordon at your nice video. Java and Bali island is already back to normal for foreign tourists. We are still waiting for your arrival Renata and Gordon. See you soon. Bye.......👍🇮🇩
Thanks for sharing all this information. I said I will do this to practice so I don't become overwhelmed. I will keep your video on my phone with your instructions. I want to practice so it's not so hectic when I go there for the first time. Thanks.
This vid is SO useful-- especially the process of buying the tickets (even how long the eTix are active for.) All those details are SO helpful in preparing for a tight transfer. Thank you!!
Stay safe and have fun. Subway is cheap and you can get various passes for even cheaper deals. Staten Island ferry is free and gives you great views of the Statue of Liberty. I wish I could afford to go to NYC every year
Great video. Just a few notes from a native 1) the Sim Cards in the airport are knockoff garbage. If you buy one and it doesn't work you will not get a refund 2) you can use the same MetroCard on the AirTrain and Subway as long as it's a Pay-per-ride card and not unlimited. You'll actually get a free transfer from Air Train to Subway as it'll detect the swipe in your card. Thus you would only pay the 7.75 total 3) if you are visiting anywhere near mid-town it's going to be a lot faster to take the LIRR, even if it's Times Square. Right as you exit the LIRR you can immediately transfer for the subway or walk. The subway will take you a lot longer 4) UBER does not have a special NYC rate. They will charge you around $30-$40 to go from JFK to Manhattan. (The hustlers will charge you upwards of $100 but that's a whole other story) Overall though, your video was great and informative
Thanks a lot for your tips, Matt! Very useful! So interesting that the signs encourage you to add the subway fare to the $7.75 AirTrain fare. I've always used pay-per-ride MetroCards and never tried this. About the LIRR to Times Square, I guess my opinion is based on traveling with a lot of luggage. I find it harder to get the subway once you arrive at Penn Station as compared to being at the subway since Jamaica. Minimizing the walk and the connections makes a lot of difference when I'm already tired and trying to get into a busy train, hehe. All the best! 😉 😊
I make that trip every time I fly home on the subway. Once you get up the guts to do it, it's easy. I admit it may be intimidating to a NYC subway virgin.
Hi Renata, amazing video. Do you know how to storage luggage at the JFK? Or any closer place? Also, Does the train and air train are available 24h? I am asking you because I will have my return flight at 6.30 am and I should be around 3 am at the airport. Thank you :)
If you were headed to Brooklyn there is a LIRR option to Atlantic Terminal from Jamaica. Leaves you where there are connections to 11 subway lines. Live in Brooklyn but have never done it. If there are 3 people though, a cab costs $52, so might a better deal. Great video.
Wait in line at the airport and get a Yellow Cab. They are flat rate. And rate controlled. Do not let someone "pick you up" (New Yorkers call it Gypsy Cabs) -- actually wait in line. They move fast. One person pays as much as three. Just do it. Compared to other cities, New York is very reasonable.
Thanks you so much for this remarkable video released in New York City, New York. I really love this great video so much released in September of 2021!
A good guide video! Personally, I always prefer to go via Howard Beach. Way less chaotic, but it sort of depends where in NYC you want to go (and no LIRR option this way). Just a minor note: the Airtrain fare increase actually happened on November 1, 2019, so not pandemic inflation related. I only know this because I flew out on October 31st and it was $5, and returning on November 3rd, it was $7.75!
Ahhhh! What a coincidence that you saw the increase! I was there in October 2019 as well and still paid the $5. I have a friend who also prefers Howard Beach for exactly the same reason 😉
Just found your channel and absolutely love your energy! My husband and I are going to NYC for the first time in December and learning so much from you. Obrigada linda!
I know this is weird but I’m just seeing videos of people outside of NY coming here and touring around and what their travel to here is like. I work at terminal 4 and I’m from queens Jamaica so me seeing this is nice to know people like the city. 😁
Just to point out, you would very rarely need to wait 30 minutes from Jamaica to Penn Station. Going to destinations on Long Island (and other stations) you might need to wait 30 minutes or so if you just miss a train, but multiple train lines go from Jamaica to Penn Station, so it is rarely a wait of more than 15 minutes or so, even outside of rush hour (late at night could be a bit loner)
I hate the unrealistic fear of New York I have haha. I grew up in rural Texas so very different but I’m traveling there for spring break! This helped a lot in preparation.
This was so helpful! We are traveling to DC & NYC in a couple weeks & will be taking the train into that station. Then we’ll be going to JFK, so the reverse. Also, we almost booked that same hotel too. Can’t wait to check out your other NYC videos. 🙂

Brilliant Thank you. Can I get the 33$ 7 day subway pass at Jamaica ? Also anyone know which subway station I need for Times Sq from Jamaica. I'm told need the E Train. Many thanks
There is now a LIRR service to Grand Central in addition to Penn. The ticket fare is the same, either to Penn or to Grand Central. Regarding the ticket activation before boarding, there is a catch. The app-based city ticket has a short lifespan (only a few minutes) compared to regular ones. I recommend activating only when you are on the platform and about to board. Some people make mistakes by activating the ticket when the train is not yet coming and about to expire when boarding, already expire when the conductor approaches to collect the ticket. It is not the first time that the intended LIRR trains arrive late while your activated ticket is already expiring
Airtrain to E train or to LIRR. The LIRR is the quickest. It's the Jamaica station. Will get you there in 20 minutes once on LIRE or you can take a taxi.
Beides being less expensive than a Taxi from JFK->NYC (70 bucks) the train is often quicker, especially between 4-7p.m. At the height of rush hour it can take 2 hours to drive into the city. The taxi, though will drop you off anywhere in Manhatten at the flat rate.
This was really helpful, thanks for making it! When taking the path you did, AirTrain -> LIRR, roughly how long did the whole journey take? I have a Global Entry interview at 7:00 in JFK in a while. I'm trying budget how much time to take to get to the airport :)
Hello . Thank you for the informative Video . Is the hotel Fairview or Fairfield . Secondly how easy is it to get to Times Square from that hotel ? Thank you in advance
Fairfield, right across from the old post office now a metro/train station. It is a bit of a walk to Times Square but doable. When you are there you can use google maps to determine if the walk vs metro is more convenient for you. There is also plenty to see along the route so you can make mini stops if you prefer.

For any New Yorkers reading this. I’m landing in JFK and I’ve got to get to the Port Authority Bus Terminal, would you advise following this video and then just walking from Moynihan train station to it?
You disembark at a corridor (where I'm speaking at 8:08) that ends up at the wall that appears at 8:12. From there you get to choose which side, and we went via Moynihan/8th Ave

Please ask attendants at the ticket machines. I can off this but not sure its 100% correct: there is a subway close by and you may be able to take the subway right into lower Manhattan. Any New Yorkers here who can help out?
Two options (assume you are going to Chinatown in Manhattan and not Flushing?): You can take the AirTrain to Jamaica and take the A/C/E for a long ride to Canal Street station. Better option for a few dollars more: take the AirTrain to Jamaica and take the LIRR to Penn (buy a city ticket if off peak), then take the A/C/E a short ride down to Canal Street station.
I’m planning on doing the same. I arrive this Monday from Canada at 1pm and depart on an international flight at 8pm and I was thinking of taking the LIRR to Manhattan but my only concern is time so don’t know if I should yet 🥲 great video btw!
Thank you. Seems kinds short on time but doable. Estimate 1.5 hrs to get to Manhattan, between getting thru the airport and train to destination. Then 1 hour back to airport. I assume you have cleared USA customs in Canada?

Hi from dubai thanks great information videos. What hotel in new york did you stay
Fairfield Inn and Suites, right across from Monyhan Station. Great Location for walking.
Hello! I have a doubt. If I want to head to Chinatown what should I do after taking the airtrain? Wonderful video!!
Please ask attendants at the ticket machines.
I can off this but not sure its 100% correct:
there is a subway close by and you may be able to take the subway right into lower Manhattan.
Any New Yorkers here who can help out?
Two options (assume you are going to Chinatown in Manhattan and not Flushing?):
You can take the AirTrain to Jamaica and take the A/C/E for a long ride to Canal Street station.
Better option for a few dollars more: take the AirTrain to Jamaica and take the LIRR to Penn (buy a city ticket if off peak), then take the A/C/E a short ride down to Canal Street station.
Great Video:)
Thank you Lena M
I’m planning on doing the same. I arrive this Monday from Canada at 1pm and depart on an international flight at 8pm and I was thinking of taking the LIRR to Manhattan but my only concern is time so don’t know if I should yet 🥲 great video btw!
Thank you. Seems kinds short on time but doable. Estimate 1.5 hrs to get to Manhattan, between getting thru the airport and train to destination. Then 1 hour back to airport.
I assume you have cleared USA customs in Canada?
Hi what is the name of the app you used to buy the ticket to penn station
This is new and probably preferable way to go now:

On the E train you will be seated as well because Jamaica station is the last and first stop of the E train from and to Manhattan.
Thanks for sharing the information
