► WHO AM I?
I am a Brazilian-American journalist living in Florida. After traveling the world working with sports, news, and events for over 15 years, I realized that what I really love is the travel part of it all. So I exchanged life in the newsrooms and stadiums for the daily challenge of being an independent content producer. I created this channel to share the beauties of the world... stuff that for so long I only kept to myself. Also to help people planning similar trips and to inspire more people to venture out and enjoy life!
P.S.: The funny guy who appears in the vlogs is my husband, Gordon. He is Canadian-American and he's actually camera-shy, that's why he's behind the camera most of the time 😉

Thank you. Yes, our goal to help fellow tourists...and I guess it comes thru. Thanks for watching. 👍😀

I am from India and dream to see New York some day. It's beyond my budget ,so I watch such videos imagining that I am there with you guys. Thank you for making these videos. Also the chemistry between you both is amazing, you both seem to give me Indian couple vibes 🙂
It is awesome watching the two of you having fun I grew up on Long Island and traveled the lirr to the city often. Keep smiling and make everyone else around you smile and have a good day. Happiness is contagious
I am heading to NYC in 2 weeks and i was so confused ! This videos made things clear and easy 🥰 THANK YOU GUYS
Cool, you are most welcome. Enjoy your trip!!!👍😀
You guys are so much fun to watch... It's a truly fun and lovely video. 👍🏼👍🏼
Nice video. I am yellow cab driver in NYC . You can go to Manhattan in 2.75$ via Q10 bus from jfk terminal 4 and free transfer to subway at Union turnpike / kew gardens station where you get E and F train .You need to have money on metro card to get free transfer or if bus driver provides you with paper ticket for transfer. It will take 20 minutes extra but it’s sometimes worth to see the local bus travel and sightseeing which pass by Caribbean neighborhood/ south Asian neighborhood and Jewish neighborhood.
Thank you very much for this information...especially from a cab driver! We may try that on our next visit and cover as an alternative route into Manhattan. We would prefer to see some neighborhoods vs train tracks.👍😍
This vid is SO useful-- especially the process of buying the tickets (even how long the eTix are active for.) All those details are SO helpful in preparing for a tight transfer. Thank you!!
You are most welcome. Glad it was helpful! 👍😀
Thank you, So many wonderful years in NYC, so many memories.
Our pleasure!
I will be remembering this video when I would visit New York City someday. Thank you for the information.
So cool. Keep watching we have more New York coming up. 👍😀

Exactly the journey I'll be making this year so you've saved me quite a few dollars as i was going to get a cab!

Happy exploring d Big Apple. 😁

This was really helpful, thanks for making it! When taking the path you did, AirTrain -> LIRR, roughly how long did the whole journey take? I have a Global Entry interview at 7:00 in JFK in a while. I'm trying budget how much time to take to get to the airport :)

Such a useful video thanks , it’s been a while since I’ve been to New York .
Glad you think that! Thanks for watching 😀👍
@@RenataPereiraTV by the way the $5 ticket is now valid for weekdays and not just weekends I used the tips on this video to download the app and buy tickets. Was so simple and much easier than subway.
The air train is $8 now too
I know this is weird but I’m just seeing videos of people outside of NY coming here and touring around and what their travel to here is like. I work at terminal 4 and I’m from queens Jamaica so me seeing this is nice to know people like the city. 😁
So cool! you have a great city and I know we will return to explore again and again 👍😀
God bless you and

Thank you Adeel Raiz. God bless you too
Nossa que legal, bem organizado.

Renata, you sing really nice. I wish you would have continued :)
Thank you you are so kind
@@RenataPereiraTV you’re welcome. P.S. as of today April 27, 2022 it now increased to $8.00 to exit from the Airtrain to Jamaica Station!
It takes a lot of time, energy, and efforts to share such informations. Please share a video about local trains in US and train pass etc, and try to make a video about Sim Cards or eSim for travelers flying to United States. Thanking you so much for your hardship to bring up informations.
Keep healty Renata
You too. thanks!
Thank u for information.
You are most welcome
Some LIRR trains actually do have outlets at every seat! I just made this same trip two weeks ago and used one at my seat :)
Very cool. Thanks for sharing to the community
Great video, the greatest city in the world 🌎🌎🌎🌎🌎🌎
Love NYC, we will be back. Thanks for watching
A good guide video! Personally, I always prefer to go via Howard Beach. Way less chaotic, but it sort of depends where in NYC you want to go (and no LIRR option this way). Just a minor note: the Airtrain fare increase actually happened on November 1, 2019, so not pandemic inflation related. I only know this because I flew out on October 31st and it was $5, and returning on November 3rd, it was $7.75!
Ahhhh! What a coincidence that you saw the increase! I was there in October 2019 as well and still paid the $5. I have a friend who also prefers Howard Beach for exactly the same reason 😉
If you were headed to Brooklyn there is a LIRR option to Atlantic Terminal from Jamaica. Leaves you where there are connections to 11 subway lines. Live in Brooklyn but have never done it. If there are 3 people though, a cab costs $52, so might a better deal. Great video.
Thank you for sharing the information. and yes, more than 2 people a cab becomes worth it.
Wait in line at the airport and get a Yellow Cab. They are flat rate. And rate controlled. Do not let someone "pick you up" (New Yorkers call it Gypsy Cabs) -- actually wait in line. They move fast. One person pays as much as three. Just do it. Compared to other cities, New York is very reasonable.
Lovely couple ☺️☺️ and great video
Thank you!! 😊
I hate the unrealistic fear of New York I have haha. I grew up in rural Texas so very different but I’m traveling there for spring break! This helped a lot in preparation.
Nothing to be fearful of 👍😀. you will have fun. We have 3 other NY videos...be sure to check them out.
thanks very helpful
Glad it helps. Thanks for watching
Yeeeayyyy so exited
Cool. Thank you!
@@RenataPereiraTV I wish I could there. I really wanna see new York and central park. please explore more about American neighborhood
There is now a LIRR service to Grand Central in addition to Penn. The ticket fare is the same, either to Penn or to Grand Central.
Regarding the ticket activation before boarding, there is a catch. The app-based city ticket has a short lifespan (only a few minutes) compared to regular ones. I recommend activating only when you are on the platform and about to board. Some people make mistakes by activating the ticket when the train is not yet coming and about to expire when boarding, already expire when the conductor approaches to collect the ticket. It is not the first time that the intended LIRR trains arrive late while your activated ticket is already expiring
0:50 nice shot of a Boeing 757-200 pushing out the gate.
Renata, looking forward to this series. Interesting that with all the electronic train ticketing stuff they still pay someone to check your ticket.
Yes, I guess a little slow to implement full electronic ticketing.
@@RenataPereiraTV Renata, how thoughtful of you to reply, one of the many reasons your channel is so popular.
I make that trip every time I fly home on the subway. Once you get up the guts to do it, it's easy. I admit it may be intimidating to a NYC subway virgin.
Yes, can be intimidating. How long does it take? And do you usually find a seat?
Thank you so much
You're most welcome
