Looking at videos on Ethan's channels, I have grown to powerfully despise Canadian developers. There has to be some sort of fishy short term money grubbing scheme going on with them, because the area is developing like crazy. Yet, I see no indication of a dramatically booming economy justifying that.

If the basement is flooded, maybe the house is located on a dip, where the water of melting snow descended upon it? It is a big setback I have noticed with certain Canadian houses. Flowing water can terminally affect the sill plate and the entire foundations. It is a good house, but it'd realistically be too expensive to renovate it =/
Is this house from the14 house neighborhood. I recognize the house by the cut out of carpet in the master bedroom. Can’t imagine why they did that. Sad that all those beautiful homes are gone forever except as seen in your videos. Love that double sided fireplace although I’m iffy about the mirrors. Imagine double the living space if that basement was finished. I wonder what that neighborhood now with overcrowded cookie cutter houses looks like now. Thanks for sharing Ethan. Even though all the fixtures/appliances are gone and we can't see how grand it was, at least the house won't be demolished with them included. Hopefully they'll be put to good use.
Wonder if they cut the carpet to see if there was hardwood floors underneath. It's the only thing I could think of. Ethan thank u for all the videos. I really enjoy watching them. Just wanted to take a minute and say that you can tell when a home was abandoned based on the date of a garage door opener some of the openers I have seen in your videos a newer (past 5 years) so you can see when they were installed automatic doorman are very old and rare openers definitely in my opinion a very cool find!

Another great explore, Ethan. It's nice to see they removed most of the salvageable items before the demolish date. The majority of the homes are filled with things I would love to have. Seems like such a waste when I'm sure ppl would buy the items if given the option. Such a shame to see this place go, but I'm guessing the water damage is pretty severe.

It was done so, maybe to survey the general state of the floor and to see if there wasn't other layers covered by the latest carpet. At any rate, the one who did this initially didn't have any intention to have carpet on this room.

Would have been a nice home to live in. Yep, its dark with the windows boarded up. I have seen all kind of explorers use a flashlight attached to a hat thing. I'm totally surprised that a home this large and of this caliber doesn't have a linen closet or cabinet inside the master bathroom. The one in the hallway at end would be for the other bedrooms and bathroom. MY house which was a very modest 1300 sqft had a linen closet for the other bedrooms and bath and My much smaller bathroom in My Master had a actual linen closet inside the bathroom.
Is it just me, or did that laundry area have a way too much going on in the space?! Closet, bathroom, garage entrance, laundry & basement entrance. Yikes! The wood railing was nice tho, and i like the substantial fireplace (that teacup is not cheap, btw). I even like the mirrors on that wall, and i normally hate mirrors! 😄I think i miss the light coloured wood from that era most of all. Thanks for another great explore!!
So you May have figured out already the room with the fireplace was the family room (right off kitchen area) and the large High ceiling room was the formal living room.
