As a Scandinavian, the one thing that I always instinctively end up thinking about when building is how the roofing will handle snow load and where the snow and ice would fall from the roof. Even if it doesn’t effect gameplay obviously. Level roof structures are sometimes a little difficult since people might need to be hired to unload and drop the snow from the roofs when the snow and ice load gets too heavy. Level roofs and Scandinavia can sometimes mix poorly 😆

Well, if there are flat roofs they're usually slanted a little, and some even have heating. However they're usually way smaller like over an entrance (yttergang?) so that it usually can carry it. But yeah in general flat roofs are impossible to insure as its a risk.
I often think about how It'd be heating it up 😅
I live in a part of the US that gets a heavy snow load. Flat roofs are such a bad idea around here. The building I work in has a flat roof and they have hire people to remove snow. Stupid waste of time. They should have put a pitched roof on it.

I think this depends on where you live too. We don’t have a lot of snow here, more rain.
A tip if you want the home to look really Scandinavian is to give it a proper hallway with a shoe rack or some spare shoes, and some kind of coat hangers on the wall. We Scandinavians don't wear shoes indoors, we take them off in the hallway and leave them there.

this pack really seems like cc at some points. the customisation possibilities are really nice, especially the walk-in closet options e.g. the clothes you can add to dressers are so realistic.
I think the "toaster oven" is just a mini oven so thats why its bigger than a real life toaster oven. isn't it for tiny homes type thing? either way, so excited for this pack, you do it justice!!
i’m pretty sure that was the vision. too bad we didn’t have it when the tiny homes pack came out😭 but still.. better late than never!
I'm wondering what cc creators can do with the bench top oven. Does that mean we can have wall ovens now, given that the animation looks to be suitable for them?
They come in a lot of different sizes here in the US. My gas oven in my apartment is horrid, won't stay on the same temperature, so I bought a countertop one that will fit a whole roasting pan inside - I do love to cook!

This is a really nice house and a good attempt at a scandi style. Only two things that fell short. First, no modern homes have carpet, ever. It's all about wood floring and area rugs, even in bedrooms. Second: new bathrooms are normally tiled, floor and walls. At least in Sweden.

In Scandinavia, Norway at least, we call this style of house “Funkishus/Funkisbolig” 😁 The only part I found inaccurate is the size, but it’s honestly not possible in The Sims either way, soo... Good job!🥰 I def. got a Scandinavian feel from the pack too. Love it.

Highly recommend, I got it and am enjoying the items. I haven’t used the gameplay part yet tho, heard it’s really buggy. But if you haven’t got it yet I say go for it!

I'm pretty sure the artist you're thinking of is Alexander Calder! He's famous for his mobiles-- in fact the term "mobile" was coined by Marcel Duchamp (another artist) to describe Calder's work!

Oh BTW, with the ballet thing you can totally book online ballet classes for older people! I quit ballet much earlier (at like 7 years old) but I've been interested in picking it up again. Who knows, maybe you'd be able to go en pointe xD

Just placed this to play in and the first thing I thought was, 'This is why you get a professional!' It is sooo beautiful. Love everything about it. For some reason the stairs didn't place but easy enough fix.
So I downloaded the house before knowing of you and finding you on RUclips. When the video started I was like, "oooh! She built the house!" You did an awesome job!
This is a really nice build. The fact that you can build this with just the new pack and base game and it doesn’t look base game really shows how much this pack adds in terms of build/buy content.
I love louver doors for closets for airflow but a door is 100% necessary for me because I have a cat. He likes to hide in closets, like on the shelf under and behind the hanging clothes so you don’t realize he’s there (he jumps in when you open the door) and he sheds and rubs along the bottoms of the clothes. It would be so much worse if I couldn’t shut him out of there. I know open closets are very popular but If I had an open closet, I would have to install at door - something like the one from Courtyard oasis would be amazing for closets actually.
I really learn a lot from your builds, and it inspires me to be more creative.

You nailed the Scandinavian style this time, there's lots of houses that looks like that around where I live, they look like a modernised version of traditional houses.
Oh and at least here in northern Norway we traditionally put the windows where we want them on the inside so there are houses where not 2 windows are centered with eachother, we've done it like that since windows became a thing 😆

LOVE the house! I really like all the inset parts and the sunken lounge room outside. I think the house has a lot of character, and looks realistic. You are really good at building modern houses ^__^ Love the double office space too and, it might sound stupid, but just the simple square shelves with the towels on them in the bathroom makes me so happy XD

In norway, a lot of houses do look like that and they’re all mostly new. I almost moved into one that looks like the one you made!
More commonly in only one color on the exterior, but it does look good with two as well. Also, a lot of the time they have a bunch of clones next to eachother. In my mind, they seem expensive and like a dream home, but still common. I’m glad they have a lot of them so hopefully one day I can live somewhere like that.

I think the mobile artist you were thinking of is Alexander Calder! My hometown has a giant piece of his downtown so we learned loads about him in our elementary art classes

I love this house! I downloaded it this morning not knowing that you had built it. You've done a fabulous job!I don't know if anyone's commented on this yet, but I just wanted to let everyone know that on the l-shaped couches, I'm not sure about the other curved ones, but your Sims cannot sit on the corners of the sectional, so the inside corners are kind of useless, which is sad. I mean it's great that we have the look of sectionals, but I would also like them to be usable also, because in real life people do sit on the inside corner of a sectional. They won't even sit on it if there's no other Sims around so it doesn't really have anything to do with other Sims being in the way. Everything else I love about this pack.
The part were she was gonna cut it out and said “starting in 3-2-1 go” 😭 we need moreeee
This is beautiful Deli - great job. My birthday is coming up soon. So I'm out with the begging bowl once again and the puppy dog eyes but I would prefer to get a big pack, this pack and a small pack. Just makes it more pleasing to my family budget.
But I am so psyched up for those floating sinks, those worktop hobs and in-built cookers. Och, the things I've been waiting for from the sims team.
Oh and also the modular (totally not IKEA) furniture items. Can build my (totally is IKEA) living room units which I designed myself with their online tool a few years ago and it's been up for a good 6-7 years now (checks child's age), still sturdy as ever with young kids in the house - fixed to the wall - please anyone with kids, fix Ikea furniture to the walls. So something to keep in mind for the future, really great storage if storage is limited and their drawers for bedrooms are mahoosive, particularly the malm range. Hope you are having a wonderful week Deli :)
Hey Deli!! Could you do a video on how to use color in builds? I always struggle with using more color because I'm scared it will clash and my builds look so dull, but you always do different colors together so well without it looking too busy. I'd love a video on this!!!!

as someone who has studied interior design and architecture and also lives in europe, i can guarantee you that your view of scandinavian is pretty correct. even tho some of the new buildings doesn’t look like that, the style itself is still the same and i would say that the house looks scandinavian. :))
I wish I could build like you. Sigh I’m usually indecisive and I always go for the same thing ALWAYS. Also I like to give my sims maximum comfort... so I usually choose items with high comfort ... you get the repetitive builds lol
You can always upgrade objects! play a sim that has handiness skill level 8 (use the woodworking table and if you have get together you can make a club where there is a handiness skill increase) and just let them visit everyone and upgrade their beds etc!
I find if I make the same things, i challenge myself to try something different, that I might not even like.
This is such a beautiful home. I often admire builds but never download them as I love building myself, but I think I might have to dl this one. It's such a great mix of style and practicality. Urgh. Love it! Ofc this also means I'm going to have to buy the pack... haha

This is a beautiful house. The new furniture is beautiful. Can't wait to get this pack. And I love that we can finally use the bunk beds as loft beds. The only thing I'm still missing is a loft double bed, that would be so great if you build a tiny home for a couple.

Just Deli over here, being the treasure she always is, acting humble about this absolute masterpiece of a house, even telling us shed love to see our builds like I EVER BUILT SOMETHING REMOTELY AS GORGEOUS AS THIS? This is honestly such comfort content.
You neeed more woodtones and such for a scandinavian feel! Eventhough the modern and everything is mostly correct, glass staircase railings etc is not really a thing, it is usually more of a modern overall but things like stairs, floors, railings, fences etc are more traditional and usually made in wood. I'm from Sweden so I might be partial but I think it makes sense since sweden is 69% forest, wood in abunance.
i’m so excited for this pack (this might be the first one i buy for full price in a long time) i’m going to school for interior design so i’m really excited to be able to make a sim version of myself and play with this pack. it does bother me that they use the terms interior designer and interior decorator interchangeably because they are not the same thing. as an interior designer you have the ability to change the structure of the house moving/subtracting walls and windows moving plumbing etc. whereas an interior decorator does not have that ability. this pack is also great with the get to work pack with the stores because a lot of interior designers in real life have store fronts/studios where they sell items that the put into their homes and then in the back they have their office where they actually work on the homes. i’m loving all the objects as the clothing is also really cute!
