The only thing i woudl change, is that her vocals dont need alot of effects to sound amazing, her natural voice is already one of the best voices ive heard, But still, a banger!
I am pretty sure she choose those effects because with LEDGER it is just as influenced by pop music as it is by rock. She is trying to give herself a different sound outside of her sound in Skillet. So LEDGER features a bit more effects and auto-tune then usual for Jen's voice. I think a live performance may have been a better idea for more of natural voice. I am a huge fan of LEDGER so to me I barely notice the difference in sound because i listen to it so much. I still think she sounds amazing in the song.
@@kellystrickland7412 LEDGER was the opening act for Skillet before the virus hit. The rest of the concerts where postponed. So hopefully they can continue the tour when more of the country opens up. But a LEDGER/Skillet concert would be amazing since I am a huge fan of Jen's getting to see her open and close a concert would be well worth however much a ticket is.
Yeah she has such a beautiful voice she doesn't need to auto tune... but it does add an effect to it. But again awesome when John joins and they sing together!
Some time ago there was that artist Imogen Heap who had a song made almost entirely out of those processed, auto-tuned, harmonized vocals. I think that's the effect they were going for, and they achieved it. I can see how it can take away from this song rather than add to it.
12/8 time FTW. I like the song, but the softness of Jen's voice seems almost out of place with the overall message. I'd love to hear this with a Pat Benetar-type vocal.
Thank you for reacting to it. I suggested it because in a way it's like Skillet in reverse. But it can take a bit to get used to Jen with LEDGER when you are used to her with Skillet. I can understand even if someone didn't like it at all. Jen has said with LEDGER she didn't want to just come off as like Skillet lite. She said pop music was a major influence on it as well. I think that's why she uses auto-tune on a lot of her songs with LEDGER. I personally am more into her sound with LEDGER. To me with or without auto-tune Jen still has the most beautiful voice in the industry and is still the biggest HIDDEN gem.
@@apec335 skillet wise I don't have much. Just a shirt, both graphic novels and the 5 cds Jen has been on. I also have a Snapper/Snappy the same dinosaur toy Jen used to have in the podcast back in the day. LEDGER wise though I have like her whole store lol

Yes the beautiful Jen! Everyone seems to agree that she doesn't need the processing as much as they seem to do on most of her songs. She obviously needs none. I wish you did the live version of this song. There's at least one full concert out there and a few versions of her individual songs. Still like the driving beat in this song, and could see it being made it a heavier "warrior" song! Here's a new request for more Ledger, I wasn't going to request any songs besides the heavier rock/metal type songs that I thought you might like, but you have done many different types and genres. Because of the vocal effects in background I thought my cat was meowing on me
I remember listening to this song live it was awesome and Jen is such a sweet person and incredibly talented
I guess since this is a modern pop rockish type track, the vocal processing is relative to the current place in the music industry
Yeah pop music was a major influence on her for her sound with LEDGER
@@boberhavok yeah, I remember through the vlogs and her stories.

I think they autotune Jen's voice because of her accent
