Having not heard the original before (I don't listen to Papa Roach) I thought this was a pretty decent performance overall. Will edit my comment once I do here the OG. EDIT: Having just now heard the original I definitely prefer this cover of it to the original as I think the performance and rendition on this cover was better than on the OG.

Yes! Love these guys. Hope you check out more from them. I’ve seen them live 3x now and they sound just as good as they do on audio so a live performance reaction would be cool to see from you. A few good ones to check out showing their versatility are “Through it All”, “My Fight”, and “Panic”. For this song I gotta rate it a little higher than the original. I just think Jen’s voice works better with it musically than Maria brink’s. Anyway great reaction and good points about putting on a show vs a “live” performance. You can definitely always tell😉
Having heard both versions I would say male vocals both from Ashes to New and Papa Roach are fairly equal. Female vocals to me Jen sounds way better then Maria Brink from the original version. Maria's vocals just aren't my style. I understand if others disagree that is fine. We all have our own taste in music. But then again Jen is also my favorite musician and I make it very clear I find her to be the hidden gem in the music business. She is just so incredibly talented. To me she has the most beautiful voice. I can definitely see why others could think otherwise though too. I am just stating my opinion on her for that.
This cover is inferior, Gravity is one of my favorite songs (the album version) and Maria Brink's ( from the band In This Moment) vocals are perfection on her verse. Could you please take a quick listen to the original and let me know if you prefer the original to this cover? I'd like to know if something his wrong with my ears, thanks 😊
