I think they recorded this whole album on the road, tour bus, dressing rooms etc… but I agree with the analog drums and guitars wouldn’t made this whole album 10 times better…
Like someone said. A lot of the album was recorded on the road in the tour bus or hotels or dressing rooms. The Skillet youtube channel i think have a few videos on their channel showing it happen i believe. I am pretty sure John and Korey Cooper were her producers along with Seth Mosely and few others. I love all of her songs she's recorded so far. But I do notice with almost all the songs minus Not Dead Yet had a lot of use of digitalness(if that's even a true word but i think you understand what i mean) some how involved in the album. To me Jen's vocals are completely unmatched and she truly is the music industries hidden gem. I consider LEDGER my favorite band because her music saved my life and i do connect on some level to all of her songs. But i feel like if they could have recorded this in a actual recording studio it probably would have been even better. I think as of right now as much as i love her recorded work with LEDGER. Her live performances of these songs are better. Maybe whenever she releases a full album she will record these songs again with actual instruments.
Je suis totalement d’accord avec toi, je pense aussi que ce n’est pas son choix, elle a fait un travail exceptionnel pour que ça soit remplacé par des machines
Man, that’s crazy about the producers. When I was in a band we were fortunate to finance everything ourselves so I never experienced that myself. But man… that really sucks.
Maybe you should watch/react to live performance of this song where are the actual instruments used, like guitar, drums and so on. I like the live version a lot more.
Over the years digital sounding music has grown on me. I do agree this song would have been better with real instruments I don't look at digital songs as a I want to see this live and raw. More like it sounds good and music can be alot of different things. Even the digital parts are still creative cuz u still make the music and create the music itself and need to know what u are doing musically to make it. These songs usually are not meant to be done live. Just to be listened to itself. I never expect a live setting for these songs itself. Digital tracks are meant to be heard like this and not live so its a different beast. But those beats still are being human created but juat put in differently than real instruments . But I understand you not liking it but yet these songs aren't meant to be played every night in a tour either so its a one time deal
I was afraid you'd be turned off by the digitalness of this track. I was kinda indifferent to it at first, but it's grown on me a lot to the point I'd call it one of my favorites. I looked up a live performance she did of this song though and I think you're right - real instruments make a huge difference. The other tracks on the EP aside from "Not Dead Yet" have more digital than I'd like and they that particular track kind of sticks out compared to the rest, which makes me wonder if they put so much money into the lead single that there wasn't quite enough left over to do the rest of tracks properly.
Do you think pure digital sound makes a song much inferior from an objective point of view? Of course, like you, I prefer real instrumental sound to digital sound, but not as much as I harshly criticized pure digital song. (I don't like it, though) I would like to know your philosophy on music, because a lot of music these days are made of only digital sounds, not real instrumental sounds.
She has such a beautiful voice.

Not one of my favorites, but it is Jenny Ledger; I love her no matter what.

You should listen to "Bold" from this album. It's poppy but it's catchy.

The vocals are awesome, on point, shame about the digital instrumentation indeed.
Beautiful voice too bad for all the digital

A decent song overall. Not the best ever but not the worst ever either.
