It looks more like the fine automobile you keep trying to tell me it is! I am much relieved that I won't have to watch the road going by under the car for 8,000 miles! And I am still stunned at how much difference having the trim on makes. We're going to be turning heads all the way to Plymouth (and beyond) and back! Good job, Colin!
Another awesome video Colin 🔨. I really like Eastwood black sealant and rust kill. I used it on my 300 after a floor repair. Hasn't rusted a lick since I did it 5 years ago.
This last Summer, my dad and I replaced the front floorboards in my '64.5 Mustang. That was a huge job. It's solid as a rock now, though. We rebuilt the whole front end on it, too. Now, I'm waiting on my rear leaf springs to be rebuilt. I'm having my differential rebuilt as a 3:35 gear ratio posi. My "8 rear end should handle my 302 V-8 just fine. I love MOPAR's too. I've wrenched on a few nostalgia top fuel Hemi engines. I'd love to build a '64 or '65 A/FX Fury, Coronet or Dart with a blown Hemi. Maybe some day....
Almost 50 years ago an old man in our town had a beautiful gold with white top car just like that one with the 383, 727 and I don’t know how but a kid from the hood came up with the money to buy it and destroy it. It was such a beautiful car.
Sweet car Colin! Way to persevere and get it done👏👏👏! I’m really glad to see someone supplying parts for these early cars also! Thanks for sharing the information.
So awesome you and your boy working on your old mopar together. Your a very good dad and a cool one too❤my girlfriend and I love when you make videos mopar to the front!!!!
So cool! I've got a sports fury convt that I have to do floor patches on. I'm jealous of your steering wheel though. Mine is so crappy. I've got to do the epoxy fix to. Just too lazy. There's a nice grant that will suffice until I get the other done. Kudos on kids help. Good stuff. We forget simple tasks like keeping drills square when drilling. Looked like he was getting the hang of it. Got a young mechanic there, awesome. At my motorcycle shop, kids just don't want to put in the work to learn.
Good luck on your road trip - I’m about a half hour from Plymouth, and I can pretty much guarantee you won’t see another ‘64 Fury on the road around here. Love watching you make the car better!
Wow. I had no idea it took that much work to replace a rusted out floor pan. I've heard people say it's no big deal. Yeah right. That only means they haven't done one before. That would cost thousands of dollars to have a shop do that. Great Job. And it will be even quieter with carpet. And maybe you can put that sound mat stuff down. I did in a chevelle I once had and it was unbelievable. Adios !
I am fully vested in your Plymouth to Plymouth Fury project! It looks great and the repairs/improvements are perfect for daily driver status let alone a cross country solar eclipse excursion. Super stoked to see this thing on the road! Congrats on all your hard work 👍🏁🔥🇺🇸
Colin, I get a real sense of satisfaction (and calming serotonin) watching you fix cars. Very enjoyable. Thank you. I could get the same feeling from Jamie's vids...but he doesn't show himself working. However, he has better jokes.
I saw Chris Birdsong using a torch(soften the paint),and a wire wheel on a drill to find spot wells much easier!!! And those SPARKS can leave marks in the glass.
Just found the channel and this is my first video. Glad it came up on my feed! Nice job on the floor and could definitely tell that you know what you're doing tho none of us will ever know everything and i learned a few things!
WOW ! I have watched other videos on doing floor pans . but for some reason , you showed it better . I am now inspired to do the floors in my 66 cuda on my own . I thank you for skills and giving me your knowledge . I take my hat off to you
You gotta consider when they patched that floor you could not just go Walmart and get a mig nor could most afford it.That being said ,dam yours looks way better🎉
Me too! Several years ago AMD was starting to produce more early B body parts, then discontinued most of them. I'm not sure when they started doing floors again but I'm glad they did!
That's a major improvement over feeling the plywood wedged between the carpet and what's left of the floor raise up when driving through standing water! Not that I've ever done that :-)
Since we live here in the Wet & Rainy I recommend using a really good Rubberized Undercoat. Oreilly's can get it, Transtar Rubberized Undercoating. Buy it by the gallon plus one quart then use the undercoat gun to make it easier. I usually put a gallon on the inside then another gallon underneath and it really quiets things down and protects them too and it dries hard and you can paint over it also.
It's coming along, There is something special about Black B body Mopars, Especially '64 Furys and Sport Furys. You need to do that with this, It is truly worthy!!!
Just like Jamie I am a A-body, 340ci guy. When I was Young I had two 340 dusters. One I raced at Lebanon Valley, ny. One was just for car shows. I prefer A-bodies. I like the Dart/Duster body styles. But, you are doing a good job o the fury. It looks good & Watching you, you deff have "the touch" you are doing it right.
Boy, that old 64 is sure glad you found it. Absolutely amazing video. So much info presented, and I'm only half way through it. I bet you were really stoked when you fitted it in at 25:09 and saw how good it looked. I've got that same AMD floor pan in a box in my garage. I was worried when AMD was not producing any more Mopar stuff that I better buy one. However, as I get older, I'm afraid that installation is beyond my capabilities. What do you and others think the labor cost would be to do that job - assuming I can find someone. BTW, I'm in Central California. Keep up the good work.
I couldn’t guess at a price, personally. At least a couple grand. As you can see, it’s a big job. And I’m sure it will be tough to find someone who does this. Well, there’s Chris Birdsong over in Vegas - but I’m sure he’s got plenty of work lined up. -Jamie
Those are such good cars. Maybe someday I can get ahold of one:) Especially if it is a Fury III. No POR15 in inaccessible areas after the floor pan is back in place? Ouch!
You know, I really did intend to put something inside the torsion bar crossmember when I had the floor out. But my time was limited and it looked so good I decided I wasn't worried about it. I may regret it a long time from now, but other parts of the car will need fixed long before it becomes an issue.
This was a great video. Showing Hotdog the ropes, Mopar rust replacement, what Mo could a guy want? I /We enjoyed it immensely! PS, next time could you school us just a bit on setting the temp on the wirewelder for patch panels. I'm assuming you have to turn it WAY down. I for one am a pretty good welder but have zero experience welding sheetmetal.
I'm no expert on welder settings, I fiddled with them some working on this one but didn't want to put out bad info on that kind of thing if I'm doing it wrong. I would say I usually turn mine down a little when butt welding in a patch, but not all that much. Prepping a piece properly to fit well goes a long way to making it easier to weld!
US Car Tools makes great subframe connectors, torque boxes, core support pieces (either a reinforcement or a full core support), rocker reinforcement panels, and an A-pillar-to-upper shock mount inner fender brace. The kits (three levels) definitely changes the rigidity

Understand- it's not cheap, but rarely is good stuff cheap. Luckily, you can add as it becomes possible. I wish you could drive my Valiant, you'd love it@@deaddodgebrother
Here’s a good question, after you replace all the rotted out pieces and it’s completely fine can you spray Rhino liner on the bottom side to prevent the rust? Great Videos Thank You 🙏
We don’t have salt in these parts. What we have is rain water. It finds its way in through bad gaskets, wiper seals, etc. at the top of the car, gathers on top of the floor panel (among other areas,) and just sits there. No amount of undercoating or under oiling will stop that. The good news is, this new panel will last for decades to come.
It's so good that you can get a reproduction floor pan for that model , it would be rather difficult to produce it yourself. I,m wondering if the rusty original floor pan got rusted out from water leaking into the car , or from moisture rising from the ground?. I'm guessing it's probably from rusted out plenum fresh air intakes ? They're a bad idea , especially somewhere that gets a substantial amount of rain ? .👍
Hey Barry. I bought a new carpet kit for my 1963 Savoy. When I saw the floors had been replaced by flat metal, I realized I couldn't use the carpet. That also explains why the Nissan buckets seats are sitting so high in the car. On the bright side I have a new carpet kit for a 1963 Plymouth.
Hope it goes good for you installing this floor panel ! Take your time! Good luck on your installation! How about filling us in on the cost to do this!! ? Thanks
He did one on his crazy road trip. That car doesn’t really need much, as it’s his reliable daily driver. Well, ok, it leaks coolant horribly. But it’s also a Chevrolet… so there’s that.

I need to do the same thing with my 64 440 because it was done exactly like your car with junk metal and a bunch of sheet metal screws and to hide the masterpiece they sprayed a load of truck bed liner over everything! Yeah it’s really bad!!
Sheet metal work in classic cars always gives you a rewarding feeling of a job well done.
Nice to see some adult/ kid time teaching him the value of a good days work, and getting them into the car hobby !! Cuties to you!
I was just thinking the same thing, so good to see 👀 him showing 🌭 how to do this...
Fun, Fun. The air chisel works nicely. Love the 64 Plymouth. Was my first car in 1974. ❤❤❤
Got to love the air chisel for this job
SUPER AWESOME YOUR SHOP ALLOWS AFTER WORK PROJECTS

Love it! Two of my four brats would tackle car/house/truck...etc projects. Fun Times!
What a great channel! You guys do a great job of explaining what, how, and why you are doing things. Blue collar hot rodding at its finest.
Thank you! We sure try. Haha.
Another awesome video Colin 🔨. I really like Eastwood black sealant and rust kill. I used it on my 300 after a floor repair. Hasn't rusted a lick since I did it 5 years ago.

Looks great with the trim, the floor is a big job but kind of fun too. I've done a few of them since everything I buy needs one.
Nice work Colin! A lot less rattles too! Don't forget the floor insulation before the carpet.

For some reason I just love this car.
Wow what a job, one heck of a project to try and sneak in in a weekend.

That was a kick ass video. Nice hell of a job for the guys brother that does the stuff.😂😂😂

Man,AMD WASNT REPOPPING those floors when we did my 63 Belvedere videos last year 😩 love your progress!!!🦶🏾
He didn’t think they were available anymore, but managed to find a guy that had one - and I think he said they might be back in production? Not sure.
Yes, they recently brought these back into production. I hope they do more Early B stuff in the future, but I'm not holding my breath.
Fury looking sweet I like that car good thing the car is white body mans favorite color hides imperfections better than black paint for sure
I agree on the color. The trim helps distract from the imperfections as well!

Haaahaha. Tom named his dog Hemi though… he is terrified of everything, especially loud noises. There’s probably a lesson in there somewhere.
Great video!!!
