Great review: A lot of interesting/good changes to the MacOS. However, my two concerns concerning Catalina are 1) the complete drop of support for older 32 bit apps by Catalina, and 2) the big changes to iTunes and the possible impact on the large (over 1,000) old movies that I've recorded off , camcorder, RUclips, cable and satellite sources. It seems that Apple has had a worse track record supporting older technologies then its arch-enemy Microsoft for on my Windows computer I can still play games, read file formats created in the 1990s while my 2006 iMac is sitting in the closet gathering dust for it is obsolete.

Thanks to macOS Catalina i will be buying the new 12” iPad Pro. I’ve always wanted to use the iPad as a Wacom tablet. I am very happy for this and obviously PS4 and Xbox One S Controller support is a PLUS! They really exceeded my expectations this time.
Providing Voice Control on macOS and iOS (and of course iPadOS) is huge. This functionality not only enables the physically disabled but also those that suffer from RSI, and other similar afflictions. I can't wait to try the public beta.
Will Sidecar support screen mirroring or just screen extensions? And I'm curious if I can still use Airplay to send my iPad image to an Apple TV while I'm using it as a Sidecar monitor.
I do have a question about RUclips...you seem like the person to ask perhaps...i can’t get videos to play right now. Out of the blue a couple of weeks ago i just get a black screen with a spinning wheel and no more video...I’ve done all the clearing i can....what steps can be done to fix this if you have any ideas?.....
i would download a different browser.. try google chrome or firefox.. sounds like an issue that maybe you could get around diagnosing by just using a browser that should probably work.. this could be a codec error, a firewall issue (less likely).. who knows.

I am willing to pay for latest MacOS if it supported my older hardware. My Windows laptop built in 2007 is still working with latest Windows OS. Why Apple can't do same? Wanting us to throw away a perfectly working pc to buy a new hardware is ridiculous.
Most software makers only support hardware 5-6 maybe 7 years old. At some point enough of the new OS features require newer hardware (bluetooth, wifi, retina displays, faster GPU's, CPU's etc) that supporting a tiny fraction of your install base for a few more years knowing that they're getting a shit experience isn't in the cards. I would recommend moving to the 3 year cycle where you sell the 3 year old laptop for half of what you paid for it, and upgrading to the newest. That computer came out when the iphone 4 was out.. that's nuts it evens runs Mojave.
users with newer hardware would not want to compromise features, just to keep users of older hardware happy. 7 years support on most Mac hardware is generous. Also, MS often charged for Windows upgrades in the past, although Windows 10 upgrade was free for a while.

For me, macOS is the BIG disappointment... Mojave need a big rework, I used it on my 2015 macbook pro and everything was laggy, that highlight on preview app was just a plain for my eyes and apps took ages to launch. The new macOS Catalina don't focus on performance like iOS 13 does. Well, maybe this is just apple killing macOS lol

All Apple native apps have dark mode. In Catalina, Apple added a new auto mode where you can schedule a time for light or dark mode.
