Helllooo! What do you think about Avenger 2 and my first patch? :D Planning to buy Avenger 2 or upgrade from v1? Using something else? Lemme know down below!
What's important to know about VPS is that you're not just buying a "soft synth" - you're also buying access to some SERIOUS sound designs and production techniques across all electronic genres. It's truly incredible.
I have NO idea how the whole Vengeance brand went under my nose my whole 25+ yr career lol, I stumbled upon this a few days ago and bought it along with 15-20 packs. I'm absolutely blown away by the efficiency factor and the ability to still deconstruct/edit anything in it. Their other software looks amazing too. STRONGLY recommended for those with a few extra dollars looking to speedline some of their workflow without sacrificing quality, in fact potentially upping quality if you're not using top shelf sounds yet. +1 from me.
@@darkcharmrecords Lol Right? I'm a total studiojunky/vstslut, have released 25 or so software for music titles myself, I feel like I know everyone big in the space. So I felt like I was in a fever dream as I explored their catalog of expansions and launchramp style presets.. It's all bananas I'm still auditioning the packs and my poor brain is overloading with moment after moment of "WOW I AM SOO USING THIS ONE NEXT TRACK I MAKE!". I even went back and got glitchbitch even though I have infiltrator and stutteredit and others. I don't know if they just never got popular, never did big marketing, or what, but I'm happy I finally stumbled upon it.

Thanks for this review. It's an underrated synth. The sounds are top quality and the programming features are endless. Subscribed. I like your approach, enthusiasm and straightforwardness.
Purchased the upgrade of this and uvi augamented orchestra the other day on black friday deals. Avenger 2 sound quality is truly fantastic, i have top notch hardware polyphonic and mono synths in my studio and it seriously making me considering selling all my hardware keeping my keyboard midi controller and have Avenger as my primary vst, It is that good. It's almost a daw within a daw.
I upgraded before watching this, happy you like it, i am sure i will too.. I wanted to like and subscribe, but only managed to like the video, as i was already subbed :D nice video as always m8. good job!
I was looking to buy Avenger after your first video about it , but recent v2 release and bf sale really triggered me to buy it and couple of sound packs for it. I was really impressed by the quality of its content and possibilities. Its one thing to watch the video about it but completely another when you start tweaking it actually - its really one of the easiest complex synths out there.
To be honest, I got interested into this synth and Ive bought it on 50% discount last year after your review and I was blown away. This synth has perfect workflow for me, everything there is so easy and understable. From that moment Ive bought over 10 packs already and Im planning to upgrade to version 2 on the christmas. Funny enough, Ive spend already on this synth more than Omnisphere costs, but didnt want to buy it, because it is too expensive for me ;)
Thank you for this video. My conclusion is, if you are serious about sound design and already have Avenger, you dont need this update. Spectral thing is for ready made sound,, not for you to design your own and that's the only part of this update related to synthesis. I wont pay 100 euros an update for a "new" reverb" and some presets and "new" sequencer features... Thank you. Not to speak that after this update you will wait for 3 more years before the next "serious" one.. lol.
My box of tricks I have and what do I prefer? No particular order of course - horses for courses remember.. Omnisphere, and now Avenger 2 (or even 1), Serum, Vital, Pigments, Diva, PhasePlant, Korg M1 and/or Wavestate Native. I reckon that pretty much covers it for everything I do (from 1800's to 2023+). After 2 years of buying what I can afford, that's my list. Everything else now better be brilliant or IDGAF!
Should you upgrade ? First of all main thing is when thinking about any V ST purchase is check the System requirements Next generation V S T s mostly all require up to date OS and computers that are not much more than a couple of years old
🎉Hello Paul, thanks for this Avenger 2 overview, your first little impression. I can agree with you 100% on all points. This VST synth is absolutely fantastic, you're almost at a loss for words! An Eldorado of possibilities to make great music for all time and to live out your individual musical and sound design creativity to the fullest. The upgrade from version 1 to version 2 is definitely worth it!!! Bye the way: I don't know what's going on in the minds of some people who are negatively commenting (I've noticed here and there in the last few days) that the upgrade costs around €100. In my opinion, they have no idea what kind of power this synth has (and the amount of work and, to a certain extent, "passion" on the part of the makers) that is needed to be able to bring such a top part onto the market. Therefore, one can only congratulate the people who recognize the potential of the VPS Avenger 2 and seriously and really want to work with it. 🍀Thanks, Paul. Stay creative.🍀
I think they've done the best job ever at not marketing yet they have amazing demos/gear/been around forever but I also never heard of them until last week for some reason. The internet ghosted vengeance somehow.
Just a reminder that Avenger 2 does have other skins you can apply. My personal favorite is Flat. I do wish it came with more presets out of the box for v2, but the features you get more than makes up for it.
Hello Paul @foliasound, thank for the video, I have decide to buy avenger2 today with you video and some other on RUclips. Can you tell me the processor you have for avenger because with one vst on ableton I’m at 30% cpu usage (Apple intel 8 core 3 ghz) ? Thank for the answer 👍🏻
Actually the stuff which has been added between v2 and the last paid version is worth the price on its own. Hopefully they will do a stand alone version one day. This is one of the very rare VSTs which is stand alone really useful.
Is the UI clear on 1080P? On my 1080P monitor V1 is blurry (no matter what the settings or scaling) and that turned me off of Avenger ... that and their ridiculous anti-piracy protection (which they later made easier).
I am serious about buying this Avenger 2. But first, I need a new computer. The computer build has me in a quandary. I really would like to know what would be a worthy build for this vst, any help in this would be greatly appreciated.
It’s nice and all but they really need to update the manual because this VST has a lot of features and like all feature rich softwares, they tend to become less intuitive.
what a joke - bought the upgrade - win10 - Error: Cannot write license file! Please remove write protection. ????! - online and offline - good luck in finding a support email for those guys... what a joke.
There are few issues with new version of Avenger, and yes, its a little bit a pain in the ass, but this issue is quite old. Ive got the same issue from time to time but its easy to fix it. Just run your DAW in administration mode and open Avenger. Regarding support, there is FB group with VPS Avenger and Manuel is helping there very often, also other users can help you there if you got issues with that synth
ITS a massive CPU hog. The company know very well shit happens on some PC's but they dont seem to do anything about it. Ive had two PC's since I got things Synth and on each PC one patch will make Abletons CPU go from 20-80% and crackling. Its unuseable, very frustrating. I have a very good PC. Its system specific.
Actually to be clear, it does something to some PC's which makes the Abletopn CPU go ballistic. Its a fault with the synth, not Ableton. Im starting to hear people who upgraded are getting the same issue.
