    My current workhorse is Omnisphere. Curious what your thoughts are on that. I just got Avenger 2 and am really impressed but there is a lot to learn.

    • @jonaudio
      @jonaudio  Месяц назад

      Omnisphere is a fantastic plugin, definitely one of the greats for sure, with lots and lots of presets as you know and capable of a looooot.
      I personally like avengers UI much better, which makes it easier and quicker to get the results I'm looking for. Also the avenger expansions cover so many genres that there is always something to find.
      Avenger does have a lot to learn, but you'll notice the more you learn about it, the more it will grow on you.

    Which midi controllers do you recommend for Avenger?

    • @jonaudio
      @jonaudio  23 дня назад

      For avenger specifically there are many choices, as long as you got enough keys to play and knobs to control the macros.
      I hop between two different controllers, the arturia midi lab 3 and the keylab depending if I'm on the go or not

    I just started using Avenger and I really like it. I'll definitely check out your videos on avenger, because there's something I don't understand. But the sounds in this synthesis can be cranked up really really fat.
    I have a question. Did you set the Avenger in Bitwig to individual mode? Because often Bitwig resets the Avenger and have to reboot.
    Thanks, man.

      @@jonaudio Hi. In Bitwig/Settings there is a mode for Plugins: “together”/“ individual”/"with Bitwig" and so on. And if you mark the plugin you need, it automatically goes into “individual” mode.

    • @jonaudio
      @jonaudio  2 месяца назад

      This was kind of a difficult one for me to accept but as much as I love pigments and how dear it is to my heart, avenger won me over. I can do so much more in avenger that I can in pigments. And it's especially useful to have a built in drum machine in avenger and be able to route those out to individual channels, and also have 4 additional outs as well

    • @AGZT94
      @AGZT94 2 месяца назад +1

      @ damn haha I like pigments too so I’m curious! so would like for analog emulation which one would you advice! And then I know now for worse horse avengers seems interesting to me.

    • @jonaudio
      @jonaudio  2 месяца назад

      @AGZT94 if you're aiming for virtual analog sound, both pigments and avenger can get you there for sure. I'd reach for avenger in that case though. The way you can pan and tune the unison voices. Or even create you own unison profile, so basically deciding how individual voices are panned, tuned, detuned and volume. Not to mention the fx you got access to, stuff like their chorus, verb and even vinalizer

    Just wanted to add my opinion hopefully without going back over yours, Jon. my feeling is Avenger being awesome was a side effect of it's business model, which is selling packs. A synthesist's synthesizer, a result of giving the designers of the packs a workhorse of a tool. For example, the extensive effects section would be a bit much for someone lacking production skills; but illumination is the reward by seeing examples from the packs. The business model works for everyone this way.
    Can't say enough good, so some negatives - Midi mapping is a bit restrictive (a by-product of the business model I suspect - 12 macros, 8 dedicated CC mod sources and some restrictive mapping are ample enough to make packs - but inferior to Falcon here). An updated manual asking too much ? Though there's always the Jon Videos to watch !

    • @jonaudio
      @jonaudio  8 месяцев назад +1

      that's a very good point! Haven't thought of it that way before, but makes sense.
      I'd imagine more functionality will come in future updates, there is an updated manual btw in the downloads section on the vengeance site

    • @rossimatic2134
      @rossimatic2134 8 месяцев назад

      @@jonaudio The 12 macros (which rock btw) seems enough till the reality hits of using 8 synths + drums. Sends for reverb and delay alone could use up 16. The awesome vocal filter, which you pointed out begs for modulation, can't hardly have DAW automation, without using up 6 or so valuable macros. Effects can't be arbitrarily midi mapped - only the 8 dedicated cc's are available. Well over 1000 parameters are visible within a DAW, and the way the synth 'hot swaps' engines make midi binding quite amazing actually. But no effects controls are available. Opening up the effects section to dozens of controls would unleash the beast and turn this synth into the ultimate workstation!

    Could you please do some tutorials going over features of Avenger on multisamples specifically? It might be my inexperience but I find doing anything in Avenger unnecessarily hard. Samples do not stretch when changing tempo, default root note C2 is too low and you have to loop everything yourself unless it is a one shot sample. If we talk about multisamples purely, to me it feels you basically have to do everything externaly and Avenger doesn't allow you any form of edit or freedom. Some proper tutorials would be goated please. I beg.

    I have been an expert on finding good deals these days. I got Avenger 2 for 33% of on Plugin Butique and as rent to own. I almost lost hope it would ever go on sale but it seems 90% of the stuff does some time during the year. Except for Kick2 and Valhalla stuff. 😅

      @@jonaudio I have not had so much time to play with it yet but so far it is as good as I have hoped. I almost never regret buying a synth plugin. When many people uses a synth, it's a good one, it seems.
      I do however regret other kind of plugins like Kontakt libraries, sample based plugins for orchestral sounds. I also regret some filter kind of plugins. Some of them is bad. Others I never use.
      A synth also often comes with a whole lot of presets. If just a few of them end up in tracks, I think it's worth it. A plugin that actually is being used is a good plugin.

    • @Arcessitor
      @Arcessitor 8 месяцев назад +3

      How many millions of times does this need to be addressed? This is in every comment section ever. You can use anything in Avenger. This legal copy is to protect them from copyright claims that they get automatically when you release a track using one of their sequences used as is. That's it. You will never get sued by them, unless you actually sell the sounds themselves as if they were your own. Same as every other sample company.
