Yes. There are several great *eyeliner brushes* on the market, use with any quality darker eyeshadow powder, cream or gel shades. There are lots of tutorials on it ways to use this method. 1) Eye-Contouring Brush by Chanel. A flat brush that lets you contour along the lid and across the lashline for a perfect smoky eye. @@MellowJelly idk if you wanted this tip, but if it helps, I’ve switched to exclusively using ONLY water washable mascara. Not the maybelline ones either, because they form hard, little solid particles when they come off with water. Try to look for a water washable (ie non waterproof) mascara that *bleeds* when you hit it with water, like an eyeliner would bleed black rivers down your face if you cried, that type. I find that type of mascara formula is a lot more gentle on the eyelids, and almost never causes eyelashes to come off.
I hate mascara and only use it for special evening occasions. The darn stuff is too difficult to take off and even the water-proof stuff sheds off under your eyes in Florida’s humid climate. I’ve found Clairol Root Cover to be great for doing my eyebrows, before I use it on my hair roots, but hadn’t thought about doing lashes. Sounds like it could easily be a disaster for sensitive eyes!
It’s not that too hard taking off mascara depending how much you put on but if u take a shower or rub cleanser it will take it off really easy so you cleanse your face then wet it and you mascaras off personally I wear it every day and it’s very easy to take it off in my skin care routine also some mascaras have clumpy ingredients and bad for your lashes you just need a good mascara
Thanks for great advice! Personally, I darken my eyelashes and eyebrows using a permanent hair dye (the one you use for your hair), although abviously I do not recommend it to anyone ;) I use the one without ammonia and I am very careful while applying it on my eyelashes. It gives me so much better effect than henna or other herbal stuff-on my eybrows henna lasts for about 2 weeks, the permanent hair dye-around 2 months. Henna doesn't really work on my lashes, they are not catching any colour not matter how long I keep it on :( ...I do have thick brows and lashes but they are very pale and literally invisible, while my hair is naturally brown, so without anything I look sick or at least tired... Once I dye it dark-I barely need any make up. Side note- I studied chemistry, so I know that if I am not allergic, nothing tragic should happen to my eyes even if the dye gets in there, especially now the formulas are quite gentle, although still chemicals are chemicals. But when you think about it-any time you use any chlorine bleach, its vapours get into your eyes, mouth and lungs, are we are all still alive ;) Having said that-we all have our own tricks, hence I am not convincing people to do whatever I do, if we don't feel a method is for us, it is better to not do anything-safety first!
I stumbled upon your channel looking for a video to cut my own hair... and since then have been learning and enjoying more than beauty advice... your singing is just wonderful too
I do the same thing, I apply the lashes dye or eyebrow dye for dying the skin a little bit. One has to be careful because it is not made for dying skin, but black henna based products works perfectly well if I go into sauna the next day. I can sweat and swim and don't wear any makeup but my eyes don't look "empty", as you said. 💚
I tint my eyelashes at home using “24 hour mascara” from Amazon. It works well and is super easy. I have sensitive skin and wear contacts and have never had a problem. I have even gotten it in my eyes a few times 😬 and except for some slight burning have had no adverse effects. It is great for summer, no makeup days, and for my bottom lashes so I don’t need to use mascara on them!
Nooo, eyeshadow can fall down in the eyes same as mascara. It depends only on the product - were you lucky enough to get mascara/eyeshadow that’s not irritating
big black lashes here, also-Get a good lash curler, learn how to use it. because Massive difference. if you have deep eyes get one with a narrow top. my lashes hold curl just fine, apparently you can warn curler with a hair dryer But unless you are expert with a curler I wouldn't risk it because you could burn delicate eyelid. great vid!
Pro tip: wet the brush with a bit of water before dipping it into the shadow - it’ll stay on your lids longer. As for using men’s hair dye on lashes, I wouldn’t risk it. If you get something in your eye and reflexively rub it, you’ll risk eye injury.
If you tint your lashes, make sure to keep your eye closed the entire time. I use the 10,000 hours one from Amazon. It comes with a spooly like a mascara wand so your first thought might be to apply it like mascara. But instead you should just do one eye at a time. Close your eye and get comfortable. Apply the dye and wait five minutes and rinse and do the other side. This helps a lot if you have micro bladed brows because it makes your eyes look less naked
I actually feel quite nauseous whilst putting on mascara (even though I look better with it on)! I can't face applying it... or removing it. It's love/hate but mostly hate!
@@gianna3582 Hiya, it's the process for sure! I am not particularly eye squeamish (I wear contact lenses).... but applying it really makes me feel ill! I posted this comment to see if anyone else had this 'problem', looking at the likes maybe there are a few people that agree?! :)
I have thin brows that start being ash-dark on the roots and end up being ash blonde on the top. 😅 So they look pretty invisible. I couldn't stay without mascara! Plus, makeup on my eyelids don't last long since my eyes are often watering (sensible to make up, wind, light etc). Mascara is the only thing that lasts all day. So thank you, next! (Love your videos!)
I use the brush from underneath, any color I want, but usually darker ones. Getting it in between the roots of the lashes, for that more full eyelash effect. I might even use it on the lashes, especially those tiny underneath the eye, where I don't want them to be very "out there" I also get my eyelashes colored at the hairdresser, about every two months.
As a medical aesthetician for over 2 decades & working mua. I am so, against tint ones doing this to your own eyelashes! I have seen quite a few go blind from it so even though they she puts them on her tips the solution will the lashes. I have seen permanent lose of sight and so many eye infections.Though the technique with the eyeshadow (not pigment) has been around for centuries to give the optical illusion for the look of thicker lashes. If you want longer lashes I would recommend a professional to apply semipermanent lashes applied(you pick the length and shade) but tbh if you can get your nails done at the same place definitely be where & look for certification on their walls! There’s also Latisse but again please get it from a reliable source) and lastly there are a ton of otc products that claim to get more lengthy and full lashes. Always look that castor oil is in the top 5 of the ingredients as castor oil is the only otc that has been proven by the fda as a legitimate source to use for that purpose. Lastly, out of all the mascaras that I’ve tried over the years, I like tubing mascara by far the best bc I am not a fan of mascara either! So, I understand that she’s only trying to help but lose of eyesight is not worth it, in my opinion. She is still a beautiful lass and I wish her the best! Warmest regards!🤍
Does anyone have a tip for someone with very thick dark but straight lashes? I find eyelash curlers don't really work unless used in conjunction with some type of mascara product and I have very sensitive eyes..
Maybe you could try lash perm? I do lash & brow perm every 3 months and it gives me very put together look without needing mascara or brow makeup products (i use only clear styling products for brows when i deem necessary). I guess that effect from perm would look absolutely fantastic on your eyelashes. The only concern would be about sensitiveness of your eyes... the procedure takes about 1 - 1,5 hours, and if the beauty specialist is experienced and you lay still, then nothing will get into your eyes.
I've seen many said water proof mascara helds better the curl of the eyelash alone or after having use the culer. You an try that. I haven't bc i don't feel like using more than a product to take make off
Have you tried heating up your eyelash curler? You can use a hair dryer, but feel the curler before putting it on your lashes to avoid burns. You can use hot water too, dry with towel.
@@RMNTZ I've tried clear gel in the past for my brows but they always clump and make it look like dandruff so I stopped. Maybe it was just a bad formula though.
It's a great tip overall. Unfortunately doesn't work with more droopy/hooded eyelids. Lashes are the only thing that's really visible if I keep my eyes looking straight. And if I do any kind of line, even smudged, without mascara, they look really small, sad and bad :/ It would take a lot of proffessional make up styling and contouring to make it work ;)
Try tightlining! Use a dark powder shadow and a small, stiff brush to push it into your lash line. It doesn’t take up lid space and it creates the illusion of a fuller lash line. Once you get the hang of it the effect is amazing! Wayne Gods has a great tutorial. Hth!
Thanks so much for this video!! I have tried many mascaras and all they do is make my eyelashes fall out!! Also I Hate having to remove it at night! Seems like a waste of time& money to me. I haven’t worn mascara in 10 years& I really Don’t miss it!! Save the eyelashes!
I got implants last year to correct my vision. Wonderful things. No more glasses. But you need to be careful about getting chemicals on them. I would love to stop using mascara but I don’t trust tinting with these implants.
I find mascara is redundant with the use of false lashes. I see people blending their natural lashes to their falsies with mascara, but in my opinion if you apply the lashes in a good position, you don't need to blend them together, and any holes or light patches can be filled with eyeliner instead. I think avoiding combining mascara + falsies also avoids getting your lashes and falsies all gloopy and crusty allowing a couple more future uses. Whenever I have to wipe off mascara it seems like a couple lash hairs fall out >:( i dont want that to add up so i dont use it, I'm sure the mascara i've used is just low quality because it should not do that
Just use hair dye on your eyebrows. It works much better than “eyebrow” dye, and you can make ANY color, not just brown or black Leave in longer than hair as the cuticle is more resistant. I usually make the brows one shade darker than the hair. Being extremely careful to not get in the eyes.
Hey Aly, this is sort of unrelated to the topic, but remember the video you made about "the beauty of hooked noses"? I was wondering if you would like to make a similar one about women with big and "strong" "manly" noses 🤗
Haha. I have literally white lashes and this DOES NOT work on me. It looks like my eyes are just half done ... :P I used to do lash tint with this kit called Roux (i dont think its sold anymore... i haven't seen it in stores for a long time) thats for both lashes and brows and it worked very well except i am a side sleeper so one eyebrow and eyelash would wear off faster than the other from rubbing against my pillow which was annoying. These days i just wear mascara if I want my lashes darker.

Yes. I’ve tried this. Shadow thing. I have very blond lashes. Always disliked this. Even would be ok with my blond brows if my natural lashes were darker. I’ve also spent $90 on brow and lash tinting. It didn’t last too long. I don’t enjoy taking mascara off. I wish I knew a remover better than Lancôme. Clinique is not a good remover for me. I just want the darn stuff OFF instantly. I need to use waterproof mascara. I put eye drops 💧 in at least 10 times a day. I used to settle for Dior. Now I switched to Chanel. They’re damned expensive. I keep them for more tha six months and save the fancy brushes after cleaning them well. Mascara, for me, is an annoying necessity. I always admire dark eyed women. Not so much fun being a natural blonde. Oh , and fake eyelashes have been used for years. Annoying. Love 💕 to take them off, then put a warm cloth over.
Honestly all you’re saying is to use an eyeshadow to line your eyes instead of a liquid liner…. I don’t see how that has anything to do with not needing to use mascara? Unless you choose to dye/tint your lashes, applying eyeshadow like a liner isn’t really gonna do anything other than have a softer look than liquid liner. 🤷🏻♀️ I don’t see how this is a tip for “not needing” mascara

I hate mascaras too...
*Make Up Forever* _Aqua Seal_ makes everything become apocalypse-proof. Greetings from a humid climate fellow. 🧛🏻♀️🖤
I'll never stop being amazed at your beauty and elegance. Thanks for the tip, as always!
It depends only on the product - were you lucky enough to get mascara/eyeshadow that’s not irritating
hooded eyes: hello :)
You can still aply eyeshadow on the hooded skin to give the eyes some depth
I'll try the shadow trick! Allergic to mascara and my lashes are very blonde
big black lashes here, also-Get a good lash curler, learn how to use it. because Massive difference. if you have deep eyes get one with a narrow top. my lashes hold curl just fine, apparently you can warn curler with a hair dryer But unless you are expert with a curler I wouldn't risk it because you could burn delicate eyelid. great vid!
Pro tip: wet the brush with a bit of water before dipping it into the shadow - it’ll stay on your lids longer. As for using men’s hair dye on lashes, I wouldn’t risk it. If you get something in your eye and reflexively rub it, you’ll risk eye injury.
I've been using the brown shadow liner trick since 6 year's ago.
I have watched your videos for a while now and just happened to see your music channel. You are a true talent and I wish you the best!!
Nice as always. Thank you for explaining everything and the trick just to colour the tips of the eyelashes is amazing. I need to try this.
I stopped wearing mascara 2years ago. Makes my eyes too round, I prefer to look more oval. 😁
I’ve never actually heard anyone say that before lol is it the smell that nauseating or the process.. ?
Love your beauty tips
I use the brush from underneath, any color I want, but usually darker ones. Getting it in between the roots of the lashes, for that more full eyelash effect.
I might even use it on the lashes, especially those tiny underneath the eye, where I don't want them to be very "out there"
I also get my eyelashes colored at the hairdresser, about every two months.
I’d love to see something about tinting your brows at home. As someone who’s quite fair anything I buy in the shop is way too dark for me. 😀
This is the best eyeliner alternative!
This is the video I needed to see in my feed right NOW. 😱 incredible timing! Thank you ❤️
As a medical aesthetician for over 2 decades & working mua.

I love your sense of aesthetics 😻
Tightlining also could enhance the effect with this method.
Does anyone have a tip for someone with very thick dark but straight lashes? I find eyelash curlers don't really work unless used in conjunction with some type of mascara product and I have very sensitive eyes..
Maybe you could try lash perm? I do lash & brow perm every 3 months and it gives me very put together look without needing mascara or brow makeup products
(i use only clear styling products for brows when i deem necessary).
@@ThyGirlnextdoor oh no I have not tried that , thanks for the tip.
@@RMNTZ I've tried clear gel in the past for my brows but they always clump and make it look like dandruff so I stopped. Maybe it was just a bad formula though.
Great tips for us mature ladies, My brows and lashes are fading away and I have blue 🔵 eyes Thank you for sharing 🌅
Great tip, Aly. Thank you.
Hth!
I have small eyes and long but kinda light eyelashes, so mascara is a must have!
i like the Reflectocils brand for eyelashes and brow dying.
i use a spoolie.
you need a steady hand though.
Love the tips. This will be very useful as I am a very light natural blonde with lashes and brows to match.
Thank you for these excellent tips. I’m going to try them. Love, love, love your channel 😘
I am redhead with white eyelashes. I can't skip mascara or I look like I have no eyelashes at all!
It works much better than “eyebrow” dye, and you can make ANY color, not just brown or black
Leave in longer than hair as the cuticle is more resistant. I usually make the brows one shade darker than the hair. Being extremely careful to not get in the eyes.
I find Just For Men much better for eyebrow tinting personally. It works much faster than regular dye
Hey Aly, this is sort of unrelated to the topic, but remember the video you made about "the beauty of hooked noses"? I was wondering if you would like to make a similar one about women with big and "strong" "manly" noses 🤗
What a great tip! Thanks!
U would look amazing with pixie cut, ur face looks so cute without hair around your chin...
Where can I buy a mirror like your bejeweled one? You are so pretty, you don't need ANY makeup. Namaste from Canada
Could you realize a makeup tutorial for women with grey hair ?👩🏻🦳 Thanks!:)
I use just for mens beard dye to do my own eyebrows! Just let it develop for very short time, 1-2 mins. Lots of how to videos on you tube for that!
oo i will try this on my fair lashes thankyou! Can i please ask do you do personal kibbe body type diagnosis at all? I have been watching lots of your kibbe body type videos, they are so great and informative! I think i am a flamboyant natural/natural at 5.7/5.8 feet but not 100% sure. If you do not could you possibly recommend someone who does that i could send a pic/video to? Many thanks
Awesome! Thank you Aly
I usually do this and don't use masqara bcz removing masqara from your eyes is the most tiring thing to me...
I’m going to try this. Hopefully my old eyes are not too hooded.
I love this ❤️
❤️ love it !
Aly, you mentioned a product you were going to try to dye your lashes... something about keratin technology? Can you please link it?
I use an eyeliner marker and just rub it along my lashes instead of using mascara.

Thank you for the shadow tip! It works great!
👍 Since I had my first baby, I've been dying my eyelashes and sometimes I just use eyeshadow as eyeliner. It goes super fast and you still look good.
I thought this was a momhack I found out on my own. 😅
Thank you. I've always hated Mascara.
Can u show a video how u do your face makeup. Everytime I wear foundation i feel washed out and it makes my face feel flat even with blush and contour. I also feel that my wide face gets enhanced even more with foundation and I am light complexion btw
So can you please list the products you are suggesting.
I like this look on you 🤩
Im always questioning myself how you hold your weight. For me its so difficult. Maybe you can share your tips for that with us 🥰
This doesn't work on heavy, hooded eyelids.
Thx so much!❤
Or you can do what I did and get lashes done by some sketchy nail salon and now my lashes are just permanently clumpily painfully glued to my eyelid 😭
Oof hope they reverse back to normal
great advice
Great tip!!!
i read that the Natural body type has been dropped from the Kibbe system. Do you still think the Natural body type should be there? i feel like im either a Natural or flamboyant natural type.
What an interesting video for guys! I wonder how this would be for girls ....
ally can you make a video on red hair, please?
