    I don't know who this lovely young woman is, but she is very professional! No unrelated chitchat, no giggling, no distractions; she gets right to the point, explains what she's doing and why, and offers helpful tips along the way. She's also demonstrating a timeless, classic look - nothing gimmicky, too trendy, or appropriate for only one age group. Very, very well done! 👍👍❤

    1. put concealer around your eyes, you wanna move your eyes forward by lightening around them
    2. put matte white / any light colored eyeshadow on your lids
    3. apply neautral eyeshaodw on the crease , blend it vert well
    4. apply natural eyeshadow under eye lids to mimic a shadow
    5. with wet thin brush apply dark liner along lash line as close as possible
    6. apply white mascara from roots to tips , 3 layers
    7. take a volumizing mascara only on the tips of the lashes
    8. draw a last lash updwards

    OMG, when I was her age, I was just putting a strip of eye shadow and tons of mascara. The skills these women have these days, amazing. One thing I have learned, it to really clean your mascara brush after about 5 uses, then I put my mascara in a glass of hot water to loosen it up. It helps coat the lashes better.

    I so rarely comment on makeup videos, even though I watch a *lot* of them. But you're one of the best makeup RUclipsrs out there, and here's why:
    1) You get right to the point. None of this nonsense about promo codes or daily revelations or anything like that.
    2) You don't insist that people use specific products to recreate the looks. I think a lot of the younger people out there think that if they're not using this MAC shadow or this Sigma brush then they can't get the makeup correct. No! If all you can afford is Wet & Wild and ELF, then you can recreate the looks with whichever colors they offer that are similar to this video.
    3) You really explain things well, and explain why you're doing them. So many makeup people talk about contouring, but don't explain it at all. You really understand lighting and shadows, and explain it to your audience.
    I've been wearing this look for my daytime makeup, and it looks great! It's very easy to recreate, and I feel it would work with any skin tone (I'm a bit darker than you, lol). Keep up the good work and I look forward to more videos from you.

    Yes, she's young. Yes, she already has miles of lids and space between her upper lashes and brows. But, she's right. These techniques do make your eyes look much larger than without makeup at all. The only thing I'd question is how the white lash primer is not seen when only the lash tips have black mascara applied. Even so, I will try that particular trick at home for myself. Aly Art i tried this exact look and I love it, especially for the upcoming hot Summer months here in New England. I'm not usually one to wear, let alone pull off such a natural look, as I'm not really that young anymore. But this really works for me! Instead of making my focal point my eyes (smokey/cat-like), I emphasized clarity and coverage of my skin coupled with the amazing look you brought us and a bright lipstick 💄. Today is my 2nd day in a row wearing it.

    This is actually fucking genius, seriously. Very different from any other tips I have seen on how to "cheat" bigger or wider eyes, and I even have seen how the hardcore Japanese Gyaru Girls do it, by the white liner on waterline and extending the falsies and anything and everything else. But this is amazing, I love that it looks so nice and neutral and natural and not totally fake and still looks nice up close. Also it makes a HUGE difference! Especially the mascara trick, and at first I was like "what? wouldn't that just look weird?" But you are right it works.

    • @sharid76
      @sharid76 6 лет назад +6

      dani c - The mascara trick involved using an uncolored mascara base, which is just mascara made the same, up to but excluding the point where the coloring - black, brown, dark blue, green, etc. - Is added in. It used to be easily found in any HBA department of any store, but for some reason, seems to have disappeared from most store shelves. It worked nicely, and was easy to do. I have very very pale, almost invisible, but long lashes, and it let me add in thickness without glopping on the black part until I had "spider legs" for lashes!

    • @heatherwoodard1
      @heatherwoodard1 6 лет назад +2

      Agreed! It looks stunning, the results are shocking - not only because of the difference in perceived size, but also because of the delicate, natural look she has achieved! Previously, I've only ever seen women do this with tons of makeup and it looks terrible on me; I'm going to try it!

  • @maryblatchford1683

    I can't wait to try the under-eye shadow tip. I have always drawn a faint line very close to my lower lashes without the desired effect. I also like she says to wait to blend, wait to extend line from outer corner and mascara on tips only. It all makes sense and looks beautiful on her - but she's a naturally beautiful young woman!

      Tabatha Raquel : I saw your post and just wanted to offer something I’ve seen. I’m definitely not a MA, but I saw where Wayne Goss, who has many tutorials for women my age (40’s), says to not use concealer all the way up to the lash line. Since I’ve stopped doing it, it’s helped a lot. He also shows how to just barely use powder (of all things) to help keep makeup out of the lines and creases under the eye. His number 1 tip though is to HYDRATE, HYDRATE and hydrate again BEFORE you apply your makeup. It helps plump the lines out before you add your foundation/concealer. Hope this helps. SORRY for butting in...😂🤣

    Thank you. You explain things in such a calm and serene way, that it's very refreshing to watch your videos. I can't believe the difference these techniques made with my close-set hooded eyes. My eyes are opened (so to speak) to the interaction of light and shadows, and light absorption vs reflection with make-up types. Coming from a scientific background myself, the way you describe these things in your videos just makes sense.
    I saw an advert that L'Oreal recently released a new mascara called Superstar with the white one one side and dark on the other.
    Keep it up, I learn so much with each one of your videos. :-)

    Wow these tips are fantastic! I love your explanations about light and shadow - you’re giving women the perfect foundation for painting their faces. That’s how I view it too - I learned how to do makeup from retouching light and shadows of the face in photoshop 🤣

    I want to give you several upvotes just because you didn't choose Top 40 pop songs as your background music.

    Hi Hailey Fletcher! Unfortunately there's no such button as "reply" under your comment - so I decided to answer here. Thank you for your comment on my big eyes video and the brush I'm using there is MAC 217 - it's my favorite!! x x x

      Aly Art Hi Aly! Would you recommend any special concealer or techniques for under eyes circles? Thanks so much!

    • @AlyArt
      @AlyArt  9 лет назад +10

      OCEANQUEEN1 You should try some professional ones, like some that cover tatoos. Try MAC liquid concealer, and tap it, don't rub. Then go out and make some pictures, and go like this until night. Then look at your face in different mirrors, with different lights. Might help. If you like how you look and you don't see them - it suits you )
