This is the only reason I'm even going to consider getting cards graded so I think you're spot on. I collected cards as a kid and just started buying some again as an adult but haven't kept up and won't catch up with all the info

They send it to psa for you, sounds silly but if you go through psa yourself there’s a lot of hoops to jump through as well as having a subscription to psa and minimum amount of cards you need to send in. You can bring one card to GameStop and they will send it to psa. Where as you can’t do that by yourself

I feel that. I have a few I've managed to keep somehow. A lot of them are worn down badly due to just being handled and kept poorly but, again somehow, most are in good nic. I have a dark dragonite holo I kinda want to get graded more so it's just sealed but at the same time I don't want to risk losing it in post.

Totally agree! I got back into collecting cards right before the pandemic hit and I just received my first graded submission ever back from Gamestop last week. It took less than a month to get back and 4/5 of these beautiful cards I’ve been holding on to hit a 10. It was easy and budget friendly and helped me get my best cards protected and appraised. Big win for Gamestop, PSA, and budget collectors all around. I was genuinely pleasantly surprised.
As a gamestop employee we are excited for this to start. I personally have a stack of cards ive always wanted to grade but exactly as you said it just didnt feel accessible to do so. Cant wait to own my first slabs,and eapecially ones i pulled and had graded!
I have some cards that I know aren't in the greatest condition, but still mean a lot to me, that I'd love to have in a PSA case. It's been a goal of mine for a very long time to have that done, and I'm willing to try this service. I got so excited to hear about this, and I can't wait to see where it goes. :)

Just started working at GameStop and actually just started collection Pokemon cards a few months before this so it’s perfect. Luckily my location DOES do the grading as not all will. Free shipping and penny sleeve with pro members too

I just submitted five cards today at GameStop and it was my first time and they were very helpful and informative and told me if my cards were worth grading or not
Personally I agree to the sentiment but there are so many people who are overwhelmed by the process that they just want to drop it off to someone and let them do all the work. That’s who this is for.

I just sorted my collection I had from when I was a kid. I went through and separated them out if the value of the card was worth more than the cost of grading at 6 or above.
Surprised it took them so long to buy into grading I started looking at GameStop as a card(mainly Pokemon) and video game store over a decade ago and always found it funny that the owners never started doing grading and selling As they get store exclusives and they could always ask for early sets and have some psa 10s showcased to sell night of release
I've recently been contemplating getting some of my old cards graded and I've been very overwhelmed everytime I look at the site. The only thing I don't like is that from what I understand, they automatically uncharged your card if the value of the card exceeds the $200 claimed value.

Only thing I’m thinking about this would be is it safer to send in high value cards this way or the standard method? My biggest fear with sending in my Pokémon Star collection to get graded is them being lost in transit >_

How do you know the kids working at GameStop won’t just switch the card for one that is worse condition before sending to PSA? Yeah exactly….always send directly to PSA yourself, if the cards you want to grade aren’t worth the $100+ PSA membership + grading fees/shipping then those cards aren’t worth to be graded in the first place.
As a new consumer I don’t get it. Why not just buy a magnetic card holder to display the cards? Why do I need some arbitrary grading from gamestop which will cost money for a dice throw rating
When it's graded your card is being evaluated for it's overall condition and rarity. Having it sealed permanently typically increases the value and protects the card as opposed to an ultrapro plastic case.
I wish they also had beckett available. Hearing how much psa will likely upcharge me to get my latias and latios gx graded is such a turn off to their services
I dunno man. Based on how consistently hilariously terrible Gamestop is at identifying legit retro games, and "buying back" retro games at criminally lower prices than what it is even worth... I would not trust them at all to give customers fair grading values. It is insanely easy to take advantage of consumers who are unfamiliar, and Gamestop is extremely famous for doing just that.
This is not the point 99% will grade cards of sentimental value throw Gamestop, if you have something of great value that has the potential for a 10 and 10x the worth go for it, but 99.99% of cards are 8 or lower at PSA, I have a few cards i would like to grade that i know is not worth it if I did it to eventually sell them but they are worth it for the memory of said cards and when I pulled them, for me its MTG cards from the mid 90's.
Chances of getting a bgs black label is so low it’s not worth it. Non becket black labels don’t sell as much as psa does. Either way it doesn’t matter what you choose if it’s an expensive card.

Yeah but we boycotting PSA until they stop with the scalping on grading cards that are worth more. A card is a card, and the same care should be put into every single grading, no card should get special treatment as it were.

If you just like the case you can save yourself the time, money, and risk of your card disappearing and buy a hard case like the PSA slab

If you like eevee look into the poncho eevee cards. They are eevees dressed as it's evolutions. There is also boss pikachus.

I got my first psa card. A pokemon go mewtwo alternate art and its a 10. Thought it will feel heavier. My goal now is to get every mewtwo card.

I don't see why everyone likes to normalize psa grading when that's not the best valued grade. Go for a BSG black 10 they value your card way higher
