Exactly! I really love how you can do trade ins, get a respectable amount of credit with the membership, and use trade in value to pay for the submission. And I don't have to worry about packaging it all together and paying for shipping/insurance? Yeah, sign me up!

@@MusicCityGames and I don’t mean to be rude but if packaging it up and logging it on the website feels like to much to do then you probably shouldn’t be sending cards to PSA in the first place I’ve also had several people tell me they go on website to check PSA card values GameStop will give em a decent price online and then when they go in store it’s a lot less I think GameStop is as usual trying to take advantage of customers and the current state of the hobby i don’t have anything against GameStop I just know how corporations are and it feels like your only looking at the hypothetical positives of this when in reality the negatives are abundant and only gonna get worse I bet this doesn’t even last a year because remember GameStop doesn’t care about the customer the cards or the grades they care about generating more money
It is pretty interesting and makes a lot of sense for them. Gaming has heavily shifted to almost a strict online experience. People have less and less reason to come into a store to buy their games. Shifting into TCG and other hobby industries makes sense for them to cast a wider net.
Honestly haden’t been into a GameStop in years been going regularly now that they have so much Pokemon cards the workers know me as the guy who pulls bangers now and it’s been such an awesome and pleasant experience GameStop as a card store works for me hahaha
Wow this changes the game, this one move probably changed GameStops entire future im 100% using GameStop now i didnt even know about this. The process was so annoying i didnt even want to start, now its gonna be easy as possible
It's really nice to just be able to show up, hand over the cards, and be done all in a few minutes. Granted, the process will likely take every bit of those 45 days, its still nice. My favorite part is the pro member perks. Trading in unwanted slabs that can pay for other submissions is so nice.
Thank you so much for this video. I will say that definitely go to the Gamestop before and check if they have everything in order to submit. Went to my local one and I was the first one to ask so employees had to check manuals, etc.
Amazing deal and I honestly think GameStop is focusing a lot of a transformation. A lot going on behind the scenes under the new management. If you check out what they're doing with their brand in other countries like Germany I think that is likely what we will begin to see here once more of their store leases are up.
@@SPNarwhal I’m a fan of this service and the change they are making. Leaning into TCG is perfect as an adjacent hobby to video games. Gets customers in the store and gives them reasons to buy other things. Also drives their membership numbers up, which is a primary focus of most corporations. Very smart.
Loved this video and it earned you another sub. I submitted a 1st edition BSS Zard, unlimited BSS Zard, and a 1st edition BSS Magikarp (that could possibly get a 10). Wish me luck - I'm super nervous about it.
We have just three GameStop stores, here in Tallahassee and currently, the only store submitting to PSA is our Governor's Square Mall location, who admitting stated that they have only submitted around three times total. But the manager there is a sports cards and Pokemon collector and literally knows more about GameStop's PSA submission process than anyone I, including online. It helps to have a couple of collectors working at GameStop, who have used their very own process for their personal collection. Again, both the manager and a couple employees have submitted cards to PSA via GameStop, so they are telling me what they've done through experience, compared to some employee, who was forced to stay awake through an employee training session.
I was so excited to learn that GameStop is now providing this service. It's been a huge goal of mine for a long time to have some of my most meaningful cards in a permanent case, no matter the condition or grade. I'm fully willing to send my cards on that journey. :)
@@Teggy04 right!?!?! Kinda makes having the Collectors Club membership pointless for only tcg graders. For sports cards and non tcg it still makes sense, but being a member with PSA still has its perks from month to month because special pricing changes all the time. Some months better than others.
Also when you are a GameStop member I got to use my $5 credit I receive one time a month from GameStop … I sent my greninja sir for $11 😊 And free shipping!
The reason I don't submit with local card shops, as much as I would like is because of their business practices. If you charge a flat rate of $25.00 per card okay, but if you are firm on that $25.00 submission price and I have 30 Topps Chrome cards and PSA is running a $14.99 Topps Chrome Submission Special of which they had a few weeks back, then adjust your pricing structure if you know people are submitting cards that satisfy PSA Special promotions, especially if you have 50 to 70 people repeatedly submitting with you. I wouldn't care with GameStop because it's only $1.00 more than the club membership rate per card of $15.99. So, I will give GameStop a try, using raw cards valued between $30 to 450, so if something goes awry, my investment isn't that bad, compared to sending in cards valued much, much higher raw.
Sounds like Gamestop really really tryin to stay alive lol. This is one way to do it. I have probably $25k in cards myself i need to submit, but don't trust the mail lol.
@@nocapvisualz I know Gamestop is a meme at this point, but this whole pivot to cards and tcg in general is smart. Drives customers into the building an offers a strong incentive for memberships.
Thank you so much for making this video. Have never created cards before but definitely interested in only question is if I grade them through GameStop will I be able to know the grade before they're even shipped back from PSA??? My only worry about doing it through GameStop are any card shop is it wouldn't be that hard for them to switch your card for another one with a lesser grade. That's my only worry about not doing it myself. So just wondering if you can know the grade before like I said before they even send it back from PSA to GameStop?? So that worries me a little . My local card shop sadly does not mess with graded cards whatsoever.
Of course, Sky! So glad you enjoyed it! As for your question, Gamestop provides email updates through the process, so I assume one of the updates would be your grades being available when they pop. That's how it works for you if you sub yourself, so I assume they will keep that process intact.
Why would you be worried about an employee switching out a card? The stores are covered in cameras and Gamestop is a company known to fire and prosecute quickly if fraud/theft happens
They will, you will just be charged a premium for the cost of the card being over the max declared value. Likely being $50 for that card. (minus the original $16 you paid)
I have an absolutely flawless Charizard 234 that I’m dying to submit. Involving a middle man just seems like such a big risk. Do any steps in the process help prevent your card being swapped out?
@@forgeline5212 Yeah, a couple things. Gamestop employees have little to no access to the actual order beyond doing the initial submission. They don’t have access to the order or updates for the order through the process. PSA submission boxes are sealed really well. If someone broke that seal and replaced or stole a card, you would be able to tell. I suppose there will always be that possibility, but very unlikely.
Good question! They are slowly rolling this out, so I would assume so at some point. I would call a bunch of different GameStop's in your area and ask. They are all different.
For seasoned graders, this service isn't really for them. It's more for the people who enjoy a hands off process, a cheaper option to send less cards, and people who have never personally subbed cards before.
@@MusicCityGames Via GameStop? If so, nice! Even authorized PSA dealers(LCS) her in Florida are telling everybody three months, with two LCS tellng people to not expect your submissions back until early Februrary.
The Gamestop employees have minimal exposure to the cards and the process as a whole. They do not handle your cards outside of taking a picture of them, applying the sticker to the back of each one, and sealing them into a bag for their lock box. That's it. It is a valid concern though. It will be hard for anyone to tamper with the package, and Gamestop corporate tracks the package every step of the way, so they can identify if and when the package was tampered with in that rare case.
This is the biggest concern of mine as well. Thankfully the process is streamlined and simple for the employees to execute. This *should* be a good experience.
