That's a 1956-1960 Rollagas. This would be the second commercially available variant of the rollagas, and my personal favorite. Good luck with it, it's absolutely worth saving.
The lighter had me stymied! I think it's too complicated so I'm going to stick to wooden kitchen matches! Good luck with the tranny project, keep me posted!
i dont know if you repaired your Rollagas but you did the repair completely wrong, i have recently uploaded a video repairing a needle valve i think you should take a look, good luck my friend 😊
Don’t waste your money if your dunhill breaks down. I spent $15 on a repair kit and another $20 for gas and a month of working on getting this fixed and it Still doesn’t work. I’m throwing it in the trash and using a $2 disposable lighter from now on. Learned my lesson the hard way!!!!!!
@krismeyer Great Idea Buy Plastic Bullshit. This Lighter a Masterpeace from Swiss and Japan. The New Dunhill Rollagas is Plastic crap the Old Amazing @david on the Buttom from the Valve is a Hole press a Oring in it only a Little Piece to fill the Hole you Damage this with the Azeton. 22.24 you have your Thumb on it.
I use pliers. I don’t recommend new people to though. Don’t press hard and shake one hand/pliers side to side instead of straight apart and it comes right off. Otherwise it may seem impossible. The acetone and alcohol will destroy the pad/filter. You must poke a micro rod or a wire from the tie on a loaf of bread and strip the paper or plastic on it off and stick it through. He gave you those sponges to put them in as they were. Less sponge means less control. Especially if using porous material.
Wrong way to use a fork a be careful with the spring inside can jump out,you can for sure use 2 pliers and is very soft material becuse you can ruin the needle iniside then you must straight it out..
fr lol and then proceeds to say his electric lighter is better like cmon just send it in to a professional and they will actually fix it, i bet you that lighter will last a lifetime and more maintained well
Why didn’t you replace the sponge? Thats your flame adjustment! Without it you can’t control it! It’s just like a crack lighter. You have to put the sponge in. All that work and missed the most important part! :)
@@narmi3134 Sponge aka pressure regulator aka filter. Its all referring to the same thing. Have you ever taken off that white wheel that you adjust on a clear Chinese lighter and looked under? Theres a disk w/ a sponge with a hole in the middle. Thats what you need. Cut to size. Without that you cannot adjust the flame. It will either be clogged or a flame thrower! Let me know if you have any more questions. I rebuild vintage lighters.
@@rafaeltorre1643hey, can you help me out please? I’m trying to work on my rollagas and I order same kit as in this video to rebuild lighter. I’m trying to repack the course flame adjustment screw and this kit from eBay came with filter disk and filter pad(sponge). Do I need to put in the filter disk first and then put sponge on the top? Do I need to punch hole in the disc or no? When I removed the old filter sponge it didn’t have a disc on the bottom so that’s why I’m asking
Thanks for showing this. I just got one and couldn't figure out how to replace the flint. Fixed it as it has 2 spare flints.
I hope you have better luck that I did. Thanks for watching!

Thank you sir ! I really enjoy your content . Stay healthy & happy 😊
Thanks and the best of the season to you!
Nice video. You can have it professionally repaired by Dunhill or a watchmaker. Looks like a nice model, so worth thinking about.!
That's great advice. If I used a lighter frequently that's what I would do.
i had one like that i got at a flea market not sure if it is same model but it leaks like a sieve ill have to see what model it is if it can be fixed.
That little seal you put into the needle not in the screw then the spring and back into the brass holder
I get two projects for tomorrow… this lighter and a heavy duty transmission repair….. . I better start getting my tools for the transmission!!!!

Thanks, Clint Eastwood
Get off of my lawn! 😃
Great video sir!
@proedge I'm having the opposite issue. My flame is very low, and I'm not sure why. It just happened, any idea why?
Clean out the needle valve hole and put in new sponge (in the correct place :()
Do you know to unscrew the filler valve? I just can’t seem to find the right size of a screwdriver that fits.
You might have to grind a screwdriver to fit it.
I dremeled it at first. Then bought the correct machined part from the eBay ronson lighter guy.

It's not worth it to me. I light candles and my gas grill infrequently and the electric match is great for them.
there are videos from people from different countries doing this
Id love a club sanwich, waterve that is
Sandwich with an extra piece of bread 👍
Everything inside all parts put into a isopropanol 1/2 hours and blow it with air..clean it..
You can do like you done but is dangerous soon or later you will damaged the brass tube etc..just give you advice
Great success! 🤣
