    I plan on doing this to the roof, floors, 4 doors & the trunk. Also replacing the engine mounts helps a ton with engine sounds. So once that's all said and done hopefully I have a quiet ride

    Do you have any video of how the car sounds from the outside to show the effectiveness of your sound dampening?

    How did you remove the carpet on the passenger side? Did you just pull up once the driver side was free

    I have the same car and did the same thing: removed the seats to do a deep clean....but my airbag light came on and won’t turn off. It’s real annoying.
    Any idea on what I can do? Did you do a trick to get the light to turn off, or did it never turn on for you at all?

      I dont know for sure. I would try disconnecting the battery for a like 30 minutes. Disconnect all the plugs under the seats and reconnect them... I have no idea if that will work.

      Mine never came on. I had the battery disconnected.

    If I were to pay someone to do this, how much you think it’ll run me? I love my civic but 7 hours is a bit much.

    How many sqft of deadener did you have for this project? My sisters adding a sub to her car. So I want to know about how much material i'm going to need to order to knock out the flood, doors and trunk.
    Thanks

      I used 3 rolls. I can still hear road noise from the front wheel wells. FYI. I plan to add a little more to the engine bay

      @@keithburger7224 I'm going to use Kilmat 80 mil for her car due to the thickness and density to help reduce outside noise and to isolate and enhance the sound quality in the car, and for her new system.
      You probably hear that because of the type of material you used. It's very inexpensive, but you also get what you pay for in this instance because it's not intended for the innovative way you've implemented it hahaha. Tho i'm sure it still helps reduce noise and help on the inside temp a little. It's still on the bottom end of what you could of achieved if you'd of got some Noico or Kilmat. For how much work goes into this i'm surprised you didn't get a better material. If you end up adding more you should get some Kilmat 80mil to reduce noise.
      Thanks for the reply. Since her civic is a coupe hers should need just about 100sqft of material to get the job done.

      You need to use MLV to reduce road noise, the stuff you applied only works on vibrations not noise.

    Is that the stock sound deadening layer on the floor?

    • @aakudev
      @aakudev 6 месяцев назад

      Yes, I don't know why he put so much when it's already given by Honda. I think MLV should be the way to reduce noise.

    Open the dash and the code should be on the side of it facing the driver. That is where mine is at.
