Nice job. Plenty of info on the internet about coming through the firewall through that driver side hole but yours is the first video I’ve seen. I need to hook up an under seat powered sub in my 8th gen so this really helps.
Meaning you dont need to run anything to the stareo right ? Because you use the speaker wire and have the remote one there ?? Making you able to use the factory radio?(seeing as I want to us the aux cord to my phone only but want my subs hooked up
I agree. 06 coupe and the hole is there but I tried forever to fish a wire through it, it is almost impossible. I used a snake camera to check it out and it's almost impossible unless you get it in just the right spot. Definitely better to try a different spot
Sorry for the delay. I just saw your post. It is duct insulation. Frost King. Any Home depot or Lows. I spent $80 and an afternoon and it was worth it. The road noise is down about 20%- ish as far as I can tell. Deadens bumps so they dont ring in the cabin. Not as good as dynomat but for the money it was worth it.
Nice Video. How did you manage to pass a screw in that metal frame (Ground). I have 2012 civic same design and the shop have mounted the ground on that metal (Red) in ur video. I wish to mount it where you did. Because I have light dimming issues.
I may not understand the full situation, however if your lights dim that may just be reflecting the accessories pulling the overall system voltage down.
I used a line level converter. You disconnect the rear speaker wires and use them to send a signal to a subwoofer amplifier. Then when you use the fade from front to rear on the stock head unit, it increases or decreases the amount off bass from the subwoofer.
@@keithburger7224 you mean i can no longer use rear speakers when i turn on sub mode? It doesn't make sense no? Don't understand. For me , there's a factory cd radio installed in the Honda that offers bass and sub possibilities, i thought i can add sub woofer to the existing speakers so that I can have bass from all speakers + sub. I think I've a got a lot to learn
I did not connect the subwoofer to the head unit on my 2010 civic VP (Value Pack). My guess is that you did not know this model even exists. Not a single auto part store has ever heard of the model.
@@keithburger7224 So I’m just adding two subs in the trunk of my car and I got a new stereo and I already have an amp. Ima be connecting some wires from the Amp to the stereo. So I’m following your video for the power cable. But having trouble with where to feed my rca cables n remote. Hopefully this helps understand my question. :)
The line level converter uses the rear left and right speaker wires to send a signal to it. So you need to cut the wires to the back speakers. You will no longer have back speakers. If you wire it properly the back speaker wires will send the signal to the RCA jacks and the voltage from the car turning on through the speakers will tell the Amplifier to turn on.
I feel like this is a trick question? The line level converter detects the voltage of the stock amplifier turning on to power the speakers and uses that signal as an output to tell the amp to turn on. So the remote wire on the line level converter connects to the remote input on the amplifier. Eliminating the need to run a wire from the front of the car on a switched ignition lead. I hope that helps.
@@keithburger7224 my line output converter has no blue amp power on wire. It has a 4 speakers wires and a ground wire. I ran a blue amp wire to my fuse box for 35 on my honda civic then ran it to the amp.
hey i was watching this video to wire my sub but poked a hole through the first black cover i seen when you take away the fender liner thinkn it was the hole but it poked through a clear tube hole inside the car. Do you know what clear hose is ?
I don't know what that tube is I never saw a clear tube the rubber grommet eye popped out was on the side of the car and I could see the inside of the fender well behind the front left tire but there is no clear hose that I could see
its like a little black rubber piece just ontop of the hood release gourmet but yeah i poked a hole through that by accident but hopefully nothing happens @@keithburger7224
I found a way easier to pass the amp cable... Just take out the black plastic cover next to the battery... You will see a black cable and run your cable next to it... Then go to your tire and open up the black plastic you will see you cable through there... Once in there the is a black round plastic pull it out and run your cable through there and your cable will come inside your car... Then just run it all the way through your trunk
@@sheesh1290 your welcome it took me a lot of time until I found this simple way to do it through the tire it was way easier it only took me like 5 minutes

That co-ax cable trick really helped us get the wire through, thank you!
I just took off the wheel well liner and it was easy easier than a coat hanger or coax
Thanks so much for the video. I'r running brake/turn signal wires so I can tow the vehicle. I've got the routing all done except through the firewall.

I have never seen a coup. If it has a fold down seat from the trunk, then yes. I just fed it between the hinge.
