    My daughter and I have driven up from Indiana two summers in a row to ride this gem. It’s simple, straight forward and gets right to the point: airtime. Lots and lots of glorious airtime.

      Indeed - still a fine coaster although I think there was more airtime on it when it was new

    Amazing ride. I remember going to this park when I was little, and my parents wouldn't let me ride this. But after 6 years. I got to ride it for the first time this year, and it was amazing.

    That has some incredible small hills at the end of the ride. I can see where you may hit the airtime. Plus that helix at the end is fantastic. Thanks for sharing this one David~

    It is a massive structure. It's a little rough but not bad for a woodie. My daughter at 7 loved it but I had to hold her down, there is so much airtime. It's my 2nd favorite wood coaster next to The Beast.

    • @davidjellis
      @davidjellis  4 года назад +1

      When I first rode it, this became my new number 1 woodie..although to be fair it was the first wooden coaster I had ridden in the USA. It's still a pretty powerful coaster.

    This is an amazing POV of the ride "Shivering Timbers" at "Michigan's Adventure" in Muskegon County Michigan. The audio and video quality of this POV are simply stunning, and truly emmerisve. The best part is probably the fact that the camera was still the whole time! I always find it difficult to focus on the ride when the camera is constantly bouncing up and down. Once again, amazing video!

    What's the airtime on this ride like? Its super long and 57 mph isnt super fast, I'd imagine it would lose a good amount of its speed over such a long ride with so many hills. However, it seems to carry alot of speed throughout, does it use terrain to maintain speed?
    If it really is as fast/air time filled as it seems, I dont know why this coaster isnt top for woodies...it looks amazing. Would be every enthusiasts dream, nothing but airtime start to finish. Does its location hold it back?

    • @davidjellis
      @davidjellis  6 лет назад

      Wow - so many questions :-)
      When this coaster opened it was arguably the best wooden coaster out there, I rode it in 1999 and it was delivering over 20 seconds of airtime. Since then it has got rougher and has lost some of its speed, but it still carries lots of airtime...sadly the ride operators tend to staple you so you can't enjoy as much air as before. It's still a fine woodie, and makes use of its simple out and back design to deliver some fine riding. The park itself isn't that highly rated which probably accounts for less riders and less reviews than the bigger parks in the chain...I still like it, but it isn't a top 10 any more for me.

    • @mattman237
      @mattman237 5 лет назад

      There is no question that this coaster's location is it's biggest hindrance to being more highly rated. So many enthusiasts haven't even ridden it because it is so far out of the way.

    • @davidjellis
      @davidjellis  6 лет назад +3

      Curious what the 80-year old woman was in line for...not seen many people riding coasters at that age? Many parks are expensive for food and drink, and the corporately owned ones tend to be the worst offenders. It shouldn't come as a surprise though...if you have been visiting for years I am sure you will know they tend to be pricy for refreshments.
