Nice job. Those flares look amazing. I'd recommend welding the rear sheetmetal. Debris and water will get through and start rust from the inside out. I welded mine when i mounted my overfenders.
Very good video. Only thing I’d do different is leave the tape on while drilling so you can line up the fender flare exactly where you traced it. Then take the tape off and spray the bare metal
Good video , but on the rears you should cut the first layer first and then leave the second layer a couple inchs longer and cut vertical cuts making tabs so you can bend the tabs up so they overlap the outside layer then spot weld each tab to the outside layer this way keeps the integrity of the rear panels strong
Thanks, it's certainly not perfect and I would have preferred to weld the panel gap, but it works. Everything is painted to prevent rusting as much as possible.
Good Job 👍🏻 ....To tell you the true I was afraid to do this in my M3 ‘98 but after seeing your video definitely I’m gonna work in my car next weekend! The only thing I’m missing it’s the tool and rivets any recommendations ? Thanks ! Robbie
You just line up the flares on the car body lines and the trim pieces. They only fit in one orientation, you don't need to measure or move them up or down.

I totally agree with you. Would have done the same
Probably the ideal thing to do. I have 0 welding ability so was not an option at the time. I'll ask my race shop if they can do that at some point.
Heey Martijn, kan je bedrijf in NL aanraden die dit doet?

That's a great tip!
Great job, looks fine 👌my only issue is the gaping holes in the rear, that's a MUST to weld shut. Other than that, its nicely made

Thanks for the videos Justin. Great inspiration for my 325is build
Thanks! These cars are fun and can be very fast on track!

The flares come with a bunch of rivets. Just order a rivet tool online or from local hardware store. I think I have links in description.
Great video !!
Thanks!
great vid
Hey thanks!
What wheel and tire sizes did you go with? I was also thinking Apex wheels
Currently have Apex Arc-8 in 17x9.5" and backup set in 17x9".
@@TheBTRGarage thanks. I have Apex wheels on my 911....love them. Was thinking the Apex for my E36 325IS build too. You just sealed the deal.
Thanks for making this video for us. On the front inner fenders, did they just tuck up underneath the fender flare?
If I am understanding correctly, yes, original portion of the fender is just tucked under the fender flare.
So how would you determine what height to set the flares without having the car on the ground and at ride height?
You just line up the flares on the car body lines and the trim pieces. They only fit in one orientation, you don't need to measure or move them up or down.
You fit the ride height to the flares. It's racing, not showcars or drifting.
You have any photos of a sedan I want to do it to my 04 xi
I do not. The process would be the same, it is just a different set of flares for the sedan.
@@TheBTRGarage what would you recommend for the sedan version I've seen two versions of it I just don't know which one and what's the dimension
@@isrealperez9069 if you haven't bought them yet get the BDC flares. Super solid.
that’s boutta be a rust bucket
On a track car that rarely, if ever sees water, and had all the seams and cuts thoroughly painted? Ok.
Hey Justin
