I bought the TTArtisan 75mm lens. This lens is a game-changer for portrait photographers on a budget! Its metal build feels solid, yet it’s so light and compact that carrying it around all day is effortless. The sharpness is absolutely superb, with a creamy bokeh that rivals much pricier options. In low light, the autofocus is quick and accurate. For full-frame users, this is a win!
This is a very comprehensive comparison. Thank you for putting in the work! I like your meticulous approach. It’s a tough call for me. I’m leaning towards the Samyang because I like the compact size. The bokeh between the two seems quite similar. Both look like great lenses
interesting how the TTartisan consistently has smoother bokeh. for photography it seems like you can't go too wrong with either lens. Thanks for the comparison
I bought the TTartisan 75mm f2 for Z mount and it’s great for what I use it, stills photography. The fact that it’s got a clicked aperture ring is a huge bonus for me. Hoping that TTartisan brings out a 35mm with the same design. Only thing I wish for is that they introduce a little weather sealing. I would gladly pay a bit more for that especially if it’s a 35mm which is a more all rounder lens and would be much more used by many. Fingers crossed.
I’ve used both the Samyang 75mm f/1.8 and TTArtisan 75mm f/2, and the TTArtisan’s autofocus is just as fast and reliable. Plus, the color rendering feels more natural and less clinical compared to the Samyang.
Excellent review and helpful comments 👍 I love my Yongnuo 85mm f1.8 lens with my Sony A7CII. Thanks to your video, I will now use its custom button as an aperture control ring😊
Hello. First of all, it's a great video. I actually could hardly decide either, especially because a used Samyang lens with Lens-Sation and the new TT Artisan are almost identical, at least in my home country, depending on the daily price. I think the TT Artisan feels more premium and I love the aperture ring. On the other hand, I find the performance of the Samyang slightly better on balance in combination with the lighter weight. I will probably have to flip my coin to see which side wins in the end.
I totally understand how you feel. Even after trying both lenses first handed, I think it is still very difficult to say which one is better. pPersonally, I think weight and size matter a lot to me, but I like the responsive video auto focus from the TTartisan lens.
@@ConstantineSPhotography Size and weight are also important to me. That's why I also use the Sony A7CII. In addition, my son uses some of my lenses on his Sony A5000 (I bought him this instead of a children's camera). Size and weight are even more important for him, he is still very small. But that also speaks in favor of buying the cheapest lens 😂.
I sold all of my 85mm lens to upgrade my A7C to the A7CII last month and now I'm looking for a portrait lens. How do you think these lenses compare to the Viltrox 85mm 1.8 or the 7Artisans 85mm 1.8?
I can tell you I like the 7Artisans 85mm 1.8 more than the Viltrox 85mm 1.8, but as for 75 vs 85, it's really hard to say. It depends on what you value the most, if it's weight and size, then no doubt 75 is better, but 85mm can give you more obvious bokeh (though you can crop the 75mm to make it look like 85mm)
@@ConstantineSPhotography Thanks for the insight! I have never touched a 75mm in my life before and I got interested from watching your video. I usually use the 85mm f1.8 because I really like subject separation, which I worry that I will not get from the 75mm even at f1.8.
i tested zve1 for two months but i had to return it due to a dead pixel on the sensor. I am debating between getting zve1 or a7c2. You have used both, what is your take? While i had the zve1, i barely used 120fps in 4k. How is the steady Active stabilization on a7c2? How is the sharpness of the video on both sensor?
@@愛如潮水1991 Great choice! Actually, I would say both are very good options, difficult to choose between the two, but if you know what you care about the most, then it’s all good 😊
Only the noisy focus motor noise makes the TTArtisan a no go. I’m assuming that in the next version of this lens, then the childhood diseases are gone, and then it will be a attractive alternative.

Great comparison, thorough & informative. Thank you!

This is just TTartisan's first full frame af lens, I believe there're more af lenses of different focal lengths to come!
