    For those of you who suck at making Carmel like this, just add 1/4 water. No need to mix with a spoon, just swirl it around with the pan. Make sure it's not on extreme high heat or too low otherwise you will have unevenly cooked and burned and if it's too low you will have clumping and it will take forever.
    If it does end up clumping just add a little more water and sugar and turn up the heat.

    I loved the BAÑO DE MARIA. Yes....that's the way I grew up with flan. I am Russian and grew up in St. Petersburg but my grandmother is Cuban and she taught my mom how to make flan. I never cared to learn to make it but now that I am older I am making my own flan and it's really a treat.

    Hi I appreciate you showing us how to make flan .what I learned to do is put a thin towel in bath water so that it absorbs hot water more evenly and also I strain my flan before addi g to caramelized sugar pan so it comes out so much smoother ..I'm not saying yours is not smooth I just started making this and learned from mistakes lol so thanks for sharing hope this helped anyone

    Hi!, I'm about to try this recipe. It's the easiest one i've found. However, finding the glassware to bake it in has proven to be the most challenging part. May I ask where you found your glassware you used in this video?? I was able to find a round glass bowl (pyrex) at target but finding a rectangular glass bowl for it to fit in has been the hard part.

    • @blancaestelaskitchen
      @blancaestelaskitchen  2 года назад +4

      Hi! Yes try it! I usually find my glassware at Walmart or Target but it doesn’t have to be glassware you could also use aluminum or non stick. They all work the same and will bake for the same time. Make sure your pan fits in the other pan you will be using for the water bath. I hope this helps. Enjoy!

      One more question, when I flipped it over on to the serving plate, the hardened caramel was stuck to the glass bowl. It's like glass, lol. Do you heat it up again to remove it when you're washing your baking glass?
