I used this recipe. Great flavor! I love it. When I removed it from the mold the flan was not evenly distributed and it looked broken but tasted awesome. Please, Any advice on what to do for it to remove beautifully and not break?!
@@mattycastillo1919 I've used a bundt pan and it worked very well. It can also be done in a loaf pan. Amazon has a flan pan with locking lid in two sizes and they're awesome. I usually put my pan in the oven before pouring the hot water in because it gets heavy. Hth..🙂
What will happen if I try this process, but add the flan mix first and then the cake batter? Will the layers still properly separate after baking everything at the same time?
I just finished making this flan. I used a Bundt pan which large enough for this recipe. I think next time I will use half the batter since it’s more cake than flan.
I had to take some cake mix out cause my pan wasn't deep enough.. it's an 8x3, I think, so 1 inch off by her. Also the mix didn't pour nicely on top of the chocolate cake batter.

But I used a pan that can detach from the base...... huge mistake it started leaking and so I had to pour the hot boiled water quickly hoping that would cook it some what to stop the leaking and through it in the oven lol.

No that won’t happen if it’s melted sugar, if you are using caramel sauce like cajeta or Dulce de leche then that might happen. So if so, you should let cool at room temperature for a couple of hours, flip it on a plate, then refrigerate.

My flan mixture sank too :( I think it’s because the cream cheese wasn’t room temp. I’ll come back with an update when I redo it **UPDATE** I used room temp. cream cheese and the same brand of chocolate cake mix (Duncan Hines Devils Food cake mix). Some cake mix ask for 1 1/4 cups of water but this one only asks for 1 cup. Also! My flan mixture didn’t completely float to the top, but it still came out *chefs kiss* 🤌🏼✨

I made this recipe yesterday delicious. Do you add the whole cake batter I used a Bundt pan could not fix all the cake batter or flan in one pan.
If you put the hole chocolate batter and add a tablespoon of baking powder you will have a even chocolate layer of both 👌🏻 just a tip 😉

I used half due to the size for the mold. Fill it half way so there is enough space for the flan.

You get about 18 muffin size cupcakes with this recipe. 375° for 40min is what I do

No, everything cooks together and during the process, it seperates which is why it's called the impossible cake.
