Love your reactions and your beautiful smile! This song is about kindness to your fellow humans. "My Brother" refers to all of humanity, not just his literal brother. The "He Ain't Heavy" part means that his fellow man's burden is not too great for him to bear to help another person in need. It's really a beautiful sentiment. Lead vocalist Allan Clarke is one of rock's underrated great singers, and the Hollies' harmonies are otherworldly. For another song with a similar sentiment, check out Bill Withers' "Lean On Me." Sadly this sentiment was hugely popular in the late 1960s and early 1970s when these songs were popular. The "brotherhood of man" was a big theme back then.
Correct!
Clarke's voice is amazing. I always cry when I hear this song.
Anyone with a brother, whatever his faults will agree with the sentiments of this song.
Greatest song ever....
I agree with you . I loved this song so much that I used it as part of the eulogy I delivered for my younger brother who passed away last year
You are a beautiful young lady and I'm glad I found you ❤️
Love you The hollies xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Semper Fi brother to all my navy corpsman
Thanks that means a lot 🙏
🙏
Awesome my friend great reaction liked and added to my playlist
You'll never see that kind of emotion from listening to a rap song. Resurrecting these old tunes from the 60's and 70's may very well be what saves our humanity.
Hi Ms. O., A Great Song with a Great Meaning.. ♠W.G.
I have watched many reactions to this video. You are the only one who has gotten it. Thank you!
Written from a story of a man carrying his brother ww2 to a church and telling the priest He ain’t heavy he’s my brother

Reminds me of Vietnam.

Ovuda you need to watch this song on the video with the soldiers as I recall this story came from a poem that came from Scotland and then to the US and Boys Town take care
😍🔥
This song always gets to me.Hod bless those who served, especially in Vietnam.Thank you for playing this one. Maybe check out the Heart cover of Led Zeppelin's song The Battle of Evermore live.Just to lighten things up a bit.Have a great day.
Even thought I was in the military during the Vietnam War I always put a wider meaning to the song than just a corpsman carrying a wounded marine across his back to safety. Yes the song is perfect for that as well
1st. Calvary here.. ♠W.G.
