The way to protect the coastline is to build artificial reefs that break the wave energy up before it hits the beach. The surfing industry is a huge part of San Clemente's economy, which would benefit from improvements to the shape of the waves, which are mostly close-outs most of the time. The crowds at T street and Trestles are downright dangerous. We need a heck of a lot more high quality waves.
