- Almost all ramen shops in Fukuoka, Japan stubbornly serve only tonkotsu (pork bone ramen). But this place goes against the grain, serving delicate shoyu (soy sauce) ramen. But is it any good? Can it be compared to what you get in Tokyo? Let's find out!
This is the third episode in a KYUSHU RAMEN SERIES.

I just don't understand why your sub count isn't higher! Great information, very engaging and entertaining.
I agree. Great content. Well pruduced and very informative😊
agreed
True, I wish he got atleast 100k + sub
Been following him since 1k-4k sub, like 2 or 3 years ago
I think it’s because his videos are under 10 minutes and upload isn’t consistent . I always look forward to his vids tho
I think most people like his information but people that look up ramen videos want to see him eat it also. There's no feeling of experience, and just information.
Both bowls look very delicious and unique!
They were - a nice contrast from one to the next!
The most legit ramen channel on RUclips. This dude is absolute unit when it comes to ramen.
Thank you for saying that and for watching 😃
Beautiful ramen with their own unique characteristic! Thank you for continue making great videos! I hope I can go there to eat ramen someday!
Thank you for watching! Yes, very pretty presentation here and I do hope that you can visit one day to enjoy similar bowls yourself 😃
Always impressed with your exemplary skills when it comes to Ramen, sensei Frank 🙏
Arigatougozaimasu! Thank you for watching, as always 😃

Hey Frank. Both bowls looked delicious.
Thanks for watching and they were!
Interesting, delicious looking two bowls in the tonkotsu ramen territory. I would lean a tiny bit more towards the somewhat heavier one. Glad you had the opportunity to enjoy both at the same sitting. Thank you, Frank!
Thank you for watching! Both were great - different ramen for a different mood at the time.
Frank, what’s your favorite time to eat ramen? Winter or summer?
Also, when not eating ramen, what is your favorite food?
All seasons! But overall most of Japan eats more ramen in the winter. In the summer, cold ramen or soupless ramen do hit the spot though!
I like it all when it comes to food - but if Japanese food, sushi, gyudon, udon soba stand out.
love your videos my friend
Thanks a lot! Will keep them coming 😃
Your enjoyment of ramen is always appreciated! It’s fun to share your enthusiasm
Also how do you walk and record at the same time? Sometimes talking and walking at the same time is distracting for me 😂
Thanks for enthusiastically watching! Sorry if the walking and talking is distracting - I'm usually in a rush to get to the next ramen shop so it helps save time 😃
Tori Paitan❤
I went here too a couple days ago! Only got the Chuka soba, I’m not a paitan guy 😅 cool didn’t know u could get two bowls back to back
You are a ramen superstar! I think I liked the Chuukasoba more than the paitan. As you know, some of these smaller places are reluctant to make two bowls for one person...not the case here tho!
I'd like to try the first one, but the formula on the 2nd Ramen is also interesting, but yeah, I always had free spot in my heart for old fashioned style Ramen, cheers
Cheers and thanks for watching! Different ramen for a different mood.
@@5AMRamen definitely!!! But I mostly order the spicy broth one 😂😂
Frank, glad you took us with you on Noodle Road! Both bowls looked great. Are you still doing anything with the channel Japan by Food?
I haven't been hosting Japan By Food videos recently but hopefully will again in the future. Both boths were great in this one!
Hi Frank san. The American chicken ramen. My guess is that its called so cuz the broth is lighter than the nokou or the thick version. Ala ‘American’ coffee in Japan which is much lighter than normal coffee.
Probably the case! Thank you for watching...had some coffee after those two bowls to wake up again 😃
They both looked delicious but the seaweed and pickle tickle my fancy.
They were an interesting addition to that one!
👍🍜
Frank--Is there beef based ramen in Japan?
Not that much. But Kamitoku, Rukawa, Rasen, and Matador come to mind in Tokyo!
Did you visit any yatai in Fukuoka?
This trip unfortunately not!
