I remember watching Mark's videos from all the way back in 2015 before Maica was born & all these years later seeing him travel the world with Ying & Mark to these wonderful places trying all this amazing food. It's always a pleasure watching your videos & I've been really enjoying this Japan series. Greetings from Kenya to you & your family as well as all the viewers of these videos.
@@MarkWiens Thanks to you as well for bringing us all the top tier content over the years. Your unique way of story telling through the places you visit, the food & people you showcase in your videos is what keeps bringing me back.
I as well have watched Mark forever and a day. Mark brought me into the food culture on RUclips and has convinced me and the wife to sell our business and move to Chiang Mia to retire next year.
We are addicted to Marks videos! Amazing food, amazing places, always tones of natural positivity and joy radiating from his personality. Very genuine and respectful content creator! Thank you Mark and team! It’s a fab experience to watch each video
There are many delicious restaurants in Fukuoka, but it is very difficult even for Japanese people to find delicious restaurants. I think Mark is very well researched.
Well, I'd imagine it helps when you can read Gurunavi and other review sites, but those of us who haven't developed our palate with delicacies from all over the world like Mark can probably just rely on pretty much everything in Japan exceeding our plebeian expectations, instead of a research team in the background. I'm like 158:1 for liking (almost) every meal I've eaten in Japan so far.
By the way Mark, not only considered acceptable and polite, slurping the noodles helps to cool them down because the air comes with it and prevents you from burning your lips and also the cheffs like to hear it as it is common sense that you are enjoying the meal and are really craving it it
Mark, I DON'T KNOW how you do it on these Noodle Tours. The Food, of course, is DELICIOUS and anyone watching would LOVE to seated next to you and enjoying the same food as you are! Unfortunately, kind of difficult in cost, of course. But the GOOD NEWS is how much we LEARN of different destinations and their many years of becoming the experts of genuine China and Japanese cuisine exchanges....because of you! Thank You!
Thank you for always putting the names of these places. I plan to travel to Japan one day and will definitely check these places out! All of it looks so so delicious
Yeesh.. Just hearing the words "udon", "ramen", and "Fukuoka" make me come running.. but the fact that Mark is at the helm means this is a 'must watch'!

Hello again! bro. Mark, it's a beautiful country of Fukuoka Japan 🇯🇵🗾 welcome saymase, the ramen 🍜 is a long life delicious to your meal! enjoy and very nice! 🙂👍
Looks delicious. I worked in a Ramen shop making noodles from scratch, flour, water, mixer, cutter, etc. Cooking the meats , broth, , vegetable, etc. Too bad the ramen shop closed, the neighborhood wasn't ready for it. This was maybe 20 years ago or so and people were like, I'm not paying that much for Ramen noodles, I can do that in 5 minutes at home
博多ラーメン Hakata ramen is the best ramen. For all the types of noodle which has the "soba" and "udon", I find ramen (noodle) as the best. Enjoy eating Mark. Japan is on rainy season these days. Spring time.

Very high quality video as I’ve come to expect from mark and his family/team! Incredibly grateful that you’ve chosen to do this Japan series as I’m very interested personally in the almost unsurpassed dedication the Japanese have with gastronomy. Unflinching, direct and nuanced. This video was the very definition of enjoyable.
That label in front of the udon place entrance was asking you to disinfect your hands with hand sanitizer before entering. They take their cleanliness super seriously.

Always wanted to go to Japan, but I won't ever have the money for it. I am so thankful for these videos that let me get a glimpse at Japanese Culture and its delicious cuisine. Thank You very Much Mark
It's not as expensive as you would think. Street food is super afforsable there. You can save for a few months, reserve flight & accomodation WAY in advance for a good offer online. I did it back in 2016 (booked in January & went in November, almoat 9 months later). Came out around $1,700 USD.
Thank you for introducing me to cheap and delicious ramen and champon shops that are loved by the people of Fukuoka City. I live in Chuo Ward, Fukuoka City, but I didn't know many of the restaurants, but I could tell how delicious they were.
Thank you Mark for the mouth watering noodle tour! Your content is a, pleasure to watch! Thank you for exposing us to all these beautiful cultures from around the world. Nicely done as always✌ 👍
I really appreciate that the prices are included. It shows how much we can or can't afford. Same with the wagyu video. Good to know that there is really affordable food in Japan. Hope to see more prices in other countries.
And that doesn't even really also count the vending machines and convenience store stuff which is absolutely amazing in and of themselves. Also if one is staying in a suite with a kitchen the grocery stores are pretty crazy affordable. I basically lived off Lawson's food items for four months lol
I basically survived off Lawson's convenience store food and sushi with the occasional bowl of ramen for four months and I spent anywhere from fifteen to twenty USD a day and you can get by on way way less if you wanted. I was constantly trying random food in izakayas as well and that was typically never more than ten or twelve bucks plus beer.
It seems champon might be a new dish for Mark. We used to have a Ringer Hut (champon) restaurant nearby here in California but it shut down during the pandemic. I've had it in Kyushu as well. My impression is that it's healthier with all the veg. It's a tasty Nagasaki treat.
Really loved seeing the temple and hearing about the history of the food. I enjoyed learning something new about a type of food I love and thought I knew everything about. That’s something you just don’t get with most channels. I’m impressed with the research Mark has done to share with the audience along with the food experience. Wonderful!
In Fukuoka udon noodles soup is made from dried flying fish. In Fukuoka udon noodles soup has two type Bonita freak and flying fish. More salty one is flying fish. When you are champon red condiments is pickled ginger.
Always a great day when i see you have uploaded. I have watched every video you have ever posted. I am doing the same with Mike Chen, my 2 favorite guys.
First time I had true Ramen I was amazed. I got classic beef with bamboo shoots, wood ear mushroom, scallions and egg. They also added a seared piece of brisket. With every spoon I could literally taste the umami flavor you get from a good burger. I could also taste the juices from the mushroom as well as the char on the brisket. It felt like I was tasting steak and hamburger at the same time, and the egg was made to perfection; outside was light-brown, marinated in soy sauce I presume and the inside was a perfect jelly like consistency. Best egg I ever had in my life. Not all places make ramen this good and even at good spots the flavor profile of each bowl can vary so much. My advice is find a well reviewed restaurant and try what they have until you find something you really like. Can't go wrong with traditional beef imo. ^^
For Udon lovers in the Oceanside/Vista area in so cal you gotta try the chicken curry Udon noodle soup at Teri cafe. It is the best I have ever had. I always order with extra curry. Super delicious 😋
