General "Street Foods" vids from the areas of Jiyugaoka or Zoshiki (near Kamata) would be great (a couple of the areas I lived in when I used to live in Japan), and for "specific food" videos, tonkatsu, karē, or elite level unagi would be dope. Thanks for your vids, you are absolutely the best Tokyo/Japan-based youtuber
Happy new year Paolo and Maiko! May I suggest you guys do fluffy pancakes around Tokyo? Or any breakfast meals would be nice. Looking forward to more videos this 2019!
I've always loved MOCHI!! Its entertaining too! Its cool to watch them make it from what I've seen of traditional Japanese cooking.! But I'd like to see more of what japan offers with mochi ^-^
Thanks Paolo! We've just come back from Misoya Hachiro Shoten, and I ordered exactly what you got. WOW!! We've eaten a lot of ramen so far, and this place is by far our favourite - we'll be going back tomorrow for dinner. You've been a godsend, my friend. We've been able to achieve so much more in less time with all your tips! Mike
Last year was at Menhso SAN Francisco and tried wagyu beef Ramen... was great thanks for ur recommendation.... it’s been over a year, Japan has stuck in my head Japanese great people, respectful, craftsmanship, artistic, attention to detail... can’t wait to go back❤️
Misoya hachiro is truly amazing, we stayed at an air bnb in the building next door, some of my mates ate it twice a day. Best ramen I’ve ever had hands down.
Thank you Paolo for always unique videos. As you say, it is difficult to decide the top 5 because there are so many ramen shops in Shinjuku and Shibuya. People who are watching this video just want to try various shops referring to this. You will surely find your favorite ramen.
You had me rolling, "... man, I'm sweating." I'm also impressed, you've managed to keep your hoodie spotless, especially during your "Super Spicy" ramen! Awesome, vid!
Hi Paolo, I just tried your no 1 recommendation for ramen in Shinjuku today. Ramen Murai was insanely huge in portion. I oredred the $1550 yen with the huge charsu. OMG! Its even hard for a guy to finish the whole bowl. It was a good tasty bowl of shoyu ramen. Very rich in flavor and noodles were firm and soaks up the broth. Keep making more videos in Japan dude!
These are very interesting ramen choices. I will follow your recommendations. For next video, Could you share any ideas to - get the economy lunch set under 1000Yen. - best breakfast in Tokyo for traveler.
You can go to yoshinoya, sukiya matsuya, matsunoya, gogo curry, coco ichiban, etc these are usually fast food places cost for as low as 1000 yen per meal. 😁
I loved them all, I was drawn particularly to your third stop... That spicy bowl 🥣.. Admittedly, I'm a bit of a chili chaser and love the flavors with the heat combined. The black garlic is a wonderful standard. I won't even comment on the prices, (they're fantastic)... Thank you for allllll the beautiful dishes 😊❤👍🌻
Awesome ramen shops. I sure miss Shinjuku even though it's only been 3 months since I was there. My favourite ramen shop was Tatsunoya in Shinjuku. Happy New Year have a good one 🍻🍺🍻
Paolo! Happy New Year! And Maiko too 🎉 Will you guys ever go to one of Seungri's ramen shops? Loving the pink sweatshirt btw 💖 Also a late night, after hours what Tokyo is like (ie: 2 a.m.) would be fun 😄
I am obsessed with udon. I basically have a long term relationship with it. How about videos on best udon restaurants and/or places where you can join a udon making class?
Udon in japan was amazing. Only went to one place and you could see them cut and cook it to order as you were lining up waiting. Was really blown away by it, much more than any ramen I tried.
The California one is looking so yummy with special beef 😋😋 but the real deal is probably the last shop which offer big shrunk of meat . Look so original
why do I always watch these videos in the middle of the night knowing I will get hungry from watching and then dejected that I have literally nothing as great looking (or as delicious looking) as that to eat
i walked 80miles for 2days and nights straight! i walked from 秋葉原 Akihabara to 横浜 Yokohama! i also walked from 秋葉原 to 新宿 to home in SAKURA HOUSE 千駄ヶ谷4丁目。on the way home, i walked through 靖国道理 Yasukuni Dori, i went to Yasukuni Shrine! It's Beautiful! I Love Walking Around 東京! ive watched you on RUclips for a long time. i would like to learn about 東京 from you!
You are Amazing! I really enjoy watching your videos they’re so fun They make me wanna come to Japan ASAP 😢 Keep your creative content, I’ve never seen any one doing anything similar to it👌🏻 The Francisco noodles made my mouth watering 🤤🤤🤤
Wow Manrai since 1961 love the old places!!!!!! Nice to try!!!!! Paolo enjoy the holidays!!!!! And happy new year guys!!!! Thanks for the Years info too!!!!
Thanks for this video Paolo! I thoroughly enjoy your food recommendations. Will be sure to check out the ramen places mentioned. I'm super excited to go to Japan!
Hello from the cold state of Minnesota! I love your videos so much! I want to move to Japan one day. your videos are so awesome keep making them! And all of the ramen looks so good! Happy holidays 😊
It's 3 in the morning and I want to make ramen so bad and I will somehow go to sleep and dream about soft chewy noodles in a deep sea of umami flavored broth yum great job
Thanks for this Paolo 😊 Thr videos you upload are amazing! We are spending our holidays in Japan right now and just followed your Dotonbori, Osaka food suggestions. The Oyster was amazing! 😍 We're here at Nagoya now (wish you could make a video for here too) and will be heading to Tokyo tonight. We'll be staying at Shinjuku and will definitely try your recommendations. :) (In fact wr already listed Funji from your Shinjuku vid) Sending GV this holiday season, more power 😁
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Paolo and Maiko! Thanks for your helpful videos and your enthusiasm! I'm getting closer to my goal. I should be in Japan in July.
First time I’ve heard of Oreno Sora and ramen looks damn good. Thanks for the recommendation! will check it out. Also, FYI, Mensho wasn’t imported from SF. Menya Shono shops already existed in Tokyo and was later changed to simply Mensho. Mensho SF was one of their later opened shops.
Any where you want to go and anything you want to video is fine by me. I know it will be a treat coming from you! Happy New Year Paolo and Maiko!! Hope you both have a prosperous, healthy and happy new year:) PEACE:)
my all time favorite is Saikoro in Nakano. Would love to try these other recommendations when I'm in Tokyo again! Thanks for the video! All of these ramen places look better than Ichiran.
Ahh thank you so much for this video, Paolo! Just finished rewatching the Shibuya ramen video and was about to request one for Shinjuku and here it is!
Michelin star ramen for less than Wagamama 😂 great video as always. I would love to see a touristy things to do video or maybe one for the sports in Tokyo (baseball, sumo and how best to experience these)
I am in Japan right now and unfortunately we have already visited Shinjuku But I am on a shinkansen to Kyoto right now and I did watch your videos a few times before we went
Spicy miso is my favorite 🍜 I cannot eat spicy food much, but Kara-miso(spicy miso in Japanese) is different story. Their rich taste let me forget the spiciness🤣
Clearly Paolo knows way more good hidden spots in Tokyo than strictly dumpling for living in Japan for more than 15 years, wouldn’t be that entertaining if Mike’s just going to be learning from him while knowing fully that strictly dumpling only introduces places in Tokyo where tourists go. Literally stopped watching his channel when he said Ichiran has the best ramen he ever had
Love how all this ramen is so affordable a lot are so expensive in the states and UK now. However in San jose California my favorite ones were so affordable
I wish we had this video a few months ago, these places look great! We were in Shinjuku and wound up at Ichiran (due to recommendations from many other vloggers,) and IMO it was kinda okay... (although your things to do in Shibuya video really helped us out!)
I would be very interested to see Japan's take on "Western/Americanized" foods! The classic flavors we've come to love made in a Japanese way. Happy New Year to you guys!

Paolo fromTOKYO will you do a more extensive video on the new Tsukiji market?
You know how I know Paulo is a great father. Literally all his jokes are dad jokes. “Shoyu, get it.” I laughed way harder than I’m proud to admit.
Thanks Paolo! We've just come back from Misoya Hachiro Shoten, and I ordered exactly what you got. WOW!! We've eaten a lot of ramen so far, and this place is by far our favourite - we'll be going back tomorrow for dinner.

@@PaolofromTOKYO I Love Ramen Noodles 🍜😋.

Misoya Hachiro Ramen was one of the best food experiences I have had ever!

Amanda Craig I am drooling and wishing we were in 2020 😹😹as I will not be in Japan till then🤩🤩🤩🤩
Watched this while waiting to go on lunch break. BIG MISTAKE!!!
Too late... 😅
Or being hungry >:()
@@carooteiza8074 Did you make it to japan? lol
You said, "Top Ramen". My mom bought and cooked Top Ramen for me. Brings back memories.
I just woken up. After seeing this video I would love to have some ramen for breakfast. They all looked so tasty.
Hi Paolo, I just tried your no 1 recommendation for ramen in Shinjuku today. Ramen Murai was insanely huge in portion. I oredred the $1550 yen with the huge charsu.

You can go to yoshinoya, sukiya matsuya, matsunoya, gogo curry, coco ichiban, etc these are usually fast food places cost for as low as 1000 yen per meal. 😁
Ichiran's most basic ramen is less than 1000yen.
And most of the conbini lunch sets don't go over 1000yen, and you'd have enough for a drink.
I loved them all, I was drawn particularly to your third stop... That spicy bowl 🥣.. Admittedly, I'm a bit of a chili chaser and love the flavors with the heat combined. Paolo! I can’t believe that u did not get any on your Japan sweater! You good! More spicy food please!
i cry after he takes every bite of those ramen 😭 especially the #4 special ramen .
Awesome ramen shops. I sure miss Shinjuku even though it's only been 3 months since I was there.

I am obsessed with udon. I basically have a long term relationship with it. How about videos on best udon restaurants and/or places where you can join a udon making class?
Udon is great but very underrated! Udon has so much varieties by every region. I want him to explore Udon world!
Manrai would be my favorite; the ramen (and pork roast slices!) looked incredible...would also love the natto foam on the dipping ramen, so lush!
why do I always watch these videos in the middle of the night knowing I will get hungry from watching and then dejected that I have literally nothing as great looking (or as delicious looking) as that to eat
Number #1's wagu beef bowl is excellent. Number #3 shop looks great! Number #1 shop has BIG servings!

Ramen, udon, and soba are definitely comfort food. Great video
I like the way you say 掛け豚そば、つけ豚そば、あえ豚そば It's like singing.

You should do a video with strictly dumpling
Agreed!
Absolutely😍✨
No
